yet the voice is a total turn off and i didn´t make it far before i quit, there should at least be a female voice.

honestly i've tried quite a few of this group's hypno stuff and every time their voice acting has pulled me out of it, but uh this one did have a female voice last time i looked at it?

female voices have a range, but some people get judgy when it deviates too far from their desired stereotypical ideal.

I also thought the voice actor was a man when I started it; to the point of going to the page to check. And was surprised it was a woman who normally speaks in a far more conventionally female voice.

I think the effect they put on the voice, I assume to make it seem more roboty/sci-fi sounding, causes it to come across more like a man doing a voice. Also not helping is that it sounds very similar to LittleKuriboh's Mai Valentine voice from YuGiOh Abridged so, at least personally, I have a specific 'male doing a voiceover as a sultry anime woman" reference it can cling onto.

2 things...

First, the game lost me before I could even tell if they were good at trance inducement scripting. Frankly the attitude and game jokes while intended as part of the game just broke up my immersion in the actual intended trance script too much to keep going beyond a few minutes in. Which is a shame, as I personally have a huge fascination in hypnosis and trance media and had high hopes for this game.

Second, the discussion about the voice being male or female isn't a debate. Voice's background definitely identifies as male. It's not just the actual sound or pitch though as some have said, (because, yes, there is some overlap between the range women and men can pitch their voice,) but also the intrinsic way the person speaks their sentences. Rather than the rolling voice of someone feminine who grew up taking in the subtle audible cues of how to speak like one and emulated it, the voice instead seems to speak in a fashion that the ear identifies as masculine which is especially notable by how even it speaks. No real ups and down as they progress from one part of the sentence to another, nor any unintended emphasis. The only time the voice breaks from its tonal monotone-esque way of speaking is when they are deliberately trying to force an emphasis of the gender they are speaking as. When someone only speaks in a vaguely feminine way when over-emphasizing certain words, for parody reasons, then it is an almost certain sign that the form of speaking is adopted and unfamiliar.

I would guess from hearing this game's narrator that the speaker was either someone transitioning, but not yet understanding and perfecting their new gender speech intricacies; or (personally I believe more likely) someone who is a full male but for monetary or obfuscation reasons is trying to put on a female avatar without realizing that they are giving off unintended and instinctive tells as a man.
