Unreal Engine - Wicked Island [v0.8.5.5] [RawDarkness]

    This game is just constantly in a state of unplayable and unenjoyable. Anytime I come back to try this game, it's always horribly broken and horribly unoptimized. It's honestly baffling it has such high reviews.

    Admittedly my computer is a few years old but still runs modern intense games at a steady 60FPS on high graphics. This game though is so horribly unoptimized that the main outside area can barely keep a steady 30fps on Low graphics.

    "Fuck it" I think to myself and load up a game anyways just to try it out just to find all my settings have reset to default that I just changed in the main menu and I get ear raped by the audio resetting back to max. Cool.

    Trying to ignore that, I chug through the low FPS and constantly swapping my settings back just to try to enjoy the game and.... get met with all creatures morphing to fit the skeleton of the previous animation that played. If any animation plays with one character, all other characters will disfigure themselves to fit and do that animation as well until you reload the game making it completely unplayable unless I only fight one enemy. Not to mention, each animation is just a repeating sequence; There is no progression, 'Climax' animation, etc. beyond you pressing a button to speed up the animation. Instead you just press a button for it to end and then suddenly your stomach is just massively bloated from cum.

    If all of the above isn't enough reason to ignore this game;
    The UI is absolutely horrible and hardly likes to work. Half of the enemies aren't "mate-able" and are just there as filler. The tutorial, rather than being progressive and popping up when you hit certain points, just constantly randomly pops up at the top of the screen and covering vital UI information. The "Progression" system makes absolutely no sense and severely limits your gameplay for no reason. Constant broken grammar, awkward dialogue, and misspellings everywhere.

    This is just an absolute mess that's not worth the massive download that it is. It wants to be a survival sex game while just absolutely miserably failing at both.

    [v0.8.5.4]

    Interesting, but hardly playable.
    • Gathering hitboxes tiny, auto-collection works for only mined resources;
    • Ragdolls fly, corpse ends up placed often out-of-bounds;
    • Starting Quest plays every area and load, even when disabled
    • There's no manual lock-on to see enemy rating and it's a tiny space at melee range;
    • Some hard-to see gatherables;
    • Enemy AI often unreliable and simple;
    • Questionable (whether they work) pregnancy mechanics;
    • In-game performance is okay, but saving and loading have abysmal load times;
    • NPCs despawn when far enough, spawn (can multiply) on load;
    • From testing (cheat) items, summons are broken;
    • Willing fucking is considered as defeat (debuff);
    • Can run and jump while sitting;
    • All animations misaligned;
    • Clothing almost always clips;
    • Some items (like bronze) aren't worth the upgrade, also that's not how its made, its a an allow, not a smelted ore;
    • Character customization (and randoming) are broken;
    • Map is huge and empty;
    • Collectable (purple glowing) cards have broken hit-boxes, could only pick up / interact with only 1 out of 3 found.
    Still, this is could be interesting for as long as its actually made playable.

    Sex is sparse, but game is good. Lots of monsters to kill with very large swords, and when the female protagonist loses she is raped, and - if you are lucky - gets pregnant. Quests are a little unpolished in the 8-version I tried out. Often, gathered goods are lost when you return home and the things you built have disappeared. But I suppose that will be corrected eventually.

    I like combat and crafting too but seems like instances of the world and quest reset every load/save meaning, if you want to finish quest better to do in in one go without closing. Animations could be wonky too from time to time but overall, solid project, just needs a bit more refining in technical area.

    While yes the game is full of bugs, the game is already in a spot where I would call it quite enjoyable.
    I also just have to give it a big thumbs up for having custom character creation that lets you go beyond traditional beauty standards (I am sick of hourglass being the only option for characters)
    A lot of potential here, which is always scary on this site, but I choose to be hopeful for this games future

    Kind of disappointing. World looks nice, with some variety in zones, although they rather empty. And characters looking nice as well. Gameplay is here and all working fairly well (don't experienced to any game breaking bugs). But it all was just... very boring, to be honest.
    Dont get me wrong, its dev clearly care and try to make decent game, but there too many aspects what need to be improved or reworked for starting to having fun.

    For examle: For porn game, there surprisingly not much porn. You basicly need to match enemy lvl by grinding and crafting stuff and then MAYBE, you can watch pretty poor 1 or 2 wariant of scenes per enemy. But sometins you get killed insted anyway, for some reason. With all you stuff dropping in process, yeah. And scenes didnt even have proper fases, like in any Skyrim mods, for example. You just watch some thrusts, can press buttone to cum, watch some liiiiitle spunk was erupt and thats it. No fluids on body after, no corruption mechanics, no lewd perks or abilities, nothing. Cant even look at my character properly in menu, and in world, camera way too hight for that. Oh, it has pregnancies, with some offsprings mechanics in it, but i honestly don't bother to find after all of this.

    Core gameplay is kind of Valheim, with is food buff mechanics (buff and food itself expire too fast by the way), crafting and explorations. It working fine at itself, but dont provide any engage at process. Skills are not really interesting, passives and weapons efficiency are not exist, combat a very clunky and all moves kind of random, enemies often stuck in ground. Quests are broken it seems, i dont even manage to complete tutorial or rescue random slave from dungeon. Doesnt know how activate teleport stones, game didnt tell, nothing is working on them, so then you die at opposite side if island, well, its rough buddy.

    Dont really wanted to nitpick so much, just share my expirience here. Game really has its charm, despite all of problems and i had good time then explore some of it places and again, it working just fine. Which is fairly rare for games this days, especially this big. But then you ask yourself, what better do with 15+ gigs empty space on my pc - downloading this game, or Skyrim with mod packs, i will prefer second variant on this moment.

    overall. Mid game. the combat is buggy and not fun. clicking faster than you swing drains stamina. the sex works but models are often mid aligned. Skyrim sex mods are better than this tbh and are easier for most pcs to run. mine can run this at a solid 60 fps so thats a good thing but the game isnt exactly a beauty to look at. also it does use AI pictures for loading screens and I havent seen that disclosed on this games tags. also speaking of skyrim I swear the houses in this game are ripped right out of it. not really worth it to play tbh.

    Cool concept but is practically unplayable due to all the bugs, can't sleep anywhere because "enemies" if you die in a dungeon you lose all of your items and cant recover them, building is clunky as fuck, (seriously add some fucking prefabs or something, I think il come back to this one in a solid 2-3 years until its functional if doesn't get abandoned.

    Needs a lot of work.

    It has potential, and I appreciate they're being ambitious.

    Its essentially trying to be Conan Exiles meets breeding games. But it needs a lot of fundamental work.

    Between the bugs and the simply obtuse controls, its more frustration than anything at the moment.

    I would strongly urge the developers to play Conan Exiles for a while and focus on the mechanics. Things like how you gather materials, rate, interface, etc.

    The game has Lots of potential, but too many issues ... Icould think that the application is not tested before... I would prefer 6 months late but a finalized application. It's depressing. I followed this with interest but now less and less... every release has several big issues.

    Map feels a bit empty right now, just needs npc's you can interact with in locations like the snow village or the barbarians in the north. The gameplay loop/progression is mostly there, just the items feel like they're breaking too fast to feel like you're actually progressing in gear quality.

    EDIT: Last update fixed every single point I tried to make.

    I know there is a lot of contetn but the game just doesn't allow you to access it. Building doesn't cosistently work, you need around 5min to find a spot where something is placeable, intercourse with the mobs is not possible. All you can do is walk around. It is promising though that it might be playable at some point, just not now.

    Things are advertised in the game that are due to defective AI etc. is not feasible.
    A lot of things aren't right.
    Or eha, most of it is defective.
    Unplayable
    The worst thing is that sex scenes w
    hile dying are advertised and they don't even begin to work .

    If he should delete it then it's not a nice game instead of a nice game .

    I have played older versions of the demo, and I enjoyed my time with them. Animations are decent, and the open world aspect is fun. It definitely needs more time in the oven though, which is why I'm only rating it 4. I enjoyed my time with it, and I hope to see the bugs that remain be fixed over time.

    Love where this is going. Nice sample of content, more than some "complete" games that we see in here . Didnt managed to see the pregnancy system in action, I think it takes way too mutch time even with the x10 setting. The aiming and bulding system could also use some improvement

    Honestly this game is more of a 2 but I'm rating it a 3 due to the sheer effort a project like this must've required and because it does have potential to improve with a different vision.

    The number one problem this game has is the complete and utter lack of any sort of grounding in the game world due to the absence of any sort of narrative, worldbuilding or incentive to explore. The island is a true sandbox which is enticing until you realize that there is no real reason to go out adventuring in the world beyond seeing the honestly underwhelming CGs and maybe going through the pregnancy system or using the Valheim-esque building system, it's unlikely that you'll want to keep interacting with those systems in the long run however since the greater gameworld just isn't interesting enough to captivate players attention.

    Personally, if I were the author I would try to identify whether I want this game to be more of a Minecraft/Valheim experience with a procedurally generated world complemented by in-depth crafting and building mechanics or a New Vegas/Witcher experience that engrosses players with an in-depth, detailed role-playing experience within a populated, hand-crafted setting. Trying to do a hybrid of both with some crafting/building and some barebones rpg mechanics will result in the game staying a poorman's imitation of Skyrim with porn mods minus all the worldbuilding that makes Skyrim a place people want to spend time in.

    So in summary, this game needs to pick between either being a procedurally generated survival crafting game that encourages and gives players the means to generate their own experiences or a true rpg with an involved world. Should it fail to do this then this game will never evolve beyond being a glorified Unreal Engine tech demo.

    Want to give credit to the still artwork and hints as you load into the game. Those were all beautiful and the hints help players remember key mechanics of the game.

    Also really enjoy the freedom to change your character. You can have any shape and size character you want in the character customization screen. Well done.

    Though one thing I found super frustrating was collecting ingredients. Rather than rewarding the player for spotting the ingredient you are looking for. For example, rocks, sticks, fiber. You need to look over your health bar and watch out for the very easy to miss “Collect” icon to appear. Would have much preferred what Skyrim does where the ingredients and items you loot in the world are much easier to spot and pick up. Also, that you do not pick up stones on the ground but instead have to use a pickaxe against boulders. Would have liked a little picture describing that.

    A little update on the ingredients for certain items, this does get better as you play the game. Able to pick out what plants give you what ingredients. Though would have liked it if the game told me what to look for. Doesn’t have to be specific. Just say green leaves plants that grow in temperate climates are what cloth is made from.

    Game is also quite buggy. For example, I minimized the game once and when I popped back into the game, was unable to run. Though did manage to fix it by just repeating what I did before and is back to normal. Another common bug is after enemies die, they freeze in place instead of falling to the ground.

    The instructions on how everything works is also not the easiest to follow. For example, I had some trouble getting a firepit to work in this crafting game. Also had some trouble with other crafting items such as beds. For some reason, whenever I build one, it disappears shortly after being placed down but takes all the resources.

    Though if this is a solo project, am GREATLY impressed by how much work went into this game. These types of open world games cannot be easy to do all on a single developers shoulders.

    I don't know why anyone would give this game more than 2 stars.
    -Its performance is terrible.
    -The graphics are mid.
    -The controls are horrible and the animations are constantly buggy.
    -The animations are pretty bad.

    Seriously, I don't recommend this game at all, the optimization is horrible, I even thought this was mining crypto with my PC because of how noisy it got.

    Great demo, not enough content for keeping you engaged for a long time but pretty good still. I wonder if the whole concept, survivial game with porn elements, is valid as a genre, but I am willing to be suprised.

    I'd say try this demo, if you can spare the 6 gigs download volume.

    It’s a great game so far definitely needs more content but that already being worked on so nothing to worry there. Now though I did it once but controller support would do wonders for this game as playing it would just be easier then trying to do everything on mouse and keyboard especially for people just getting into pc gaming
