Once you build the worckbench there is nothing more to do other then explore?

correct the work bench is the end of that quest line no with the building plan and materials you can build a shelter set up your forge and get to crafting

if you dont feel like crafting or foraging you can hit your / key on your number pad and it will bring up a cheat menu will the items in the game so you can equip your character or get what you need ...(i usually cheat a good black steel sword because the wood spear sucks as a weapon even starting out )

after that its a sandbox you can just explore and kill or fuck things ..note some animals can't be fucked aka the deer the pigs the rabbits etc the scorpions the wasps the big bears that walk on all fours and the actual wolves that walk on all fours ..... there is a were bear and a were wolf and a were boar though that are sex-able
there are saytrs Minotaur's ogres and trolls etc and many other monsters and dragons you can fuck or kill

if you are trying to find the town its north east of your starting position there you will find a tall tower you can enter for another set of quests .... A lady named Isabela wants you to get fucked by creatures for her
Down the hill in in the actual town are npcs you can interact with , like the blacksmith (for trading ) the mayor etc has a quest
the old lady around the blacksmith shop sells food items .....and at the far back of the town you will find jacob the farmer interact with him and find out his secret .....then threaten to tell others ... Jacob also sells seeds and has a large farm of wheat you can harvest by the house

The Research table was intentionally removed, it isn't a bug.
You can get milk. While your character is pregnant, press F, select Player, then select Milk (should be at the bottom of the radial menu). You need to have empty bottles in your inventory.

CARROTS! You forgot to mention that you can actually grow AND harvest carrots now.
Something I noticed about the farm plots it that their yields are pretty impressive compared to what you can pick in the wild. Picking wheat in the wild, I would get 1 or maybe 2, but with the farm plot I can get 4 wheat per collection, it is the same for things like berries and fibers.

Those night spawns are a pain in my ass with this update. My character is level 40+ now and when one of those groups spawns, it is usually a couple reapers, a few nightmares, a couple wereboars, and some miscellaneous riffraff (bears, wolves, werewolves).

Here is the post with the updates and changes on 0.8.5.8, including the removal of the research table. The notes mention something about servant items, but I am not sure what it means. The monster/slave tokens maybe.

Apparently 0.8.5.9 was a bug fix for a few things that were broken.

Hehehehehe, it took me a while to make myself use that stupid radial menu. It still feels clunky, but it does have the occasional use.

OH, SWEET MERCY! I completely forgot about drakes being in those night ambushes. The reapers are bad enough, but, yeah, that old night spawn was a real brown trousers moment if you were not prepared.

Is there a plan to fuck the horse?

I seriously doubt it. That would actually be bestiality which might cross the line somewhere. The game is on Steam and itch and I'm not sure about itch, but I seriously doubt steam would allow bestiality content. Not sure tho just a guess.

it was planned at one point back about 8.4.3 you could see the horse with a hard on about 8.5.2 the horse dick fell off
so yeah i think they saw that as a bridge too far ....

I remember the first time before i ever found the cheat or knew about where to find iron (THANK YOU FOR THAT BTW) and my bronze sword shattered so i killed a nightmare with my bow and arrows ....i turned that fucker into a porcupine with all the arrows sticking out of him took like 800 arrows or so, it was crazy all the time running and trying not to die ....LOL good times .back then you could also build a campfire or cauldron and the nightmares would fixate on the flames , until you hit them with a sword of course then they were all over you. BUT you could stay far back and fill them full of arrows they would not know where they were coming from ... if you got to close they would get you

step one. fuck monster til monster knocks you up, once prego you continue on with life until... , step 2 birth child step 3 ,grow child to adult monster .... step 4 fuck the now grown offspring aka your kid , get knocked up rinse repeat .
