I cant agree with this take, at this point what youre saying is valid as Johan indeed didnt do a lot of stuff with the girls and most of the stuff was even unintentional from his side.
But this doesnt work (for me) anymore if were starting to get dates and start to be lovey dovey with the ladies.
You maybe can argue "Well duh but we never said were exclusive so of course i was fucking 5 other gals (your teammates) at the same time and was romantic with them too" and it maybe helps you to avoid to official cheater term but youre still a scumbag in that case and no girl with any kind of self respect should (realisticly) date a guy like that.
Thats fine if youre fuckbuddies (and again) communicated !!!! about it but not just like that while the other party possibly has deep feelings.
Maybe thats because im from europe, i consider the dating culture in the usa as kinda weird lol
I mean, just imagine dating a girl who dates your whole football team at the same time ...

In real life girls would be more active and would ask you about commitment or at least give you a hint about it. Most games skip that part, because it has low overall value to a male audience. And you are totally right about the fact that MC won't be technically cheating, but it would have a negative impact on future relationships.

I'm from europe too, this argument is getting confusing hehe, will try to clarify my thoughts.
Johan at the moment isn't committed or romantically involved with any of the girls imo, they just flings at best, is he fooling around with them wrong? Well if he hides it sure, if they know well the girls are free to decide what they want to do.
If things start to getting romantic with them yes it's weird, but for me at least it will be even weirder if they all in a "official" harem, meaning they all are Johann girlfriends, now I ask you what's more plausible, 1-Johan be fuck budies with them all and them knowing and most don't like it but accept it or not or 2-they being all in a serious relationship, like Johann declaring love for them all, isn't that kinda silly in this setting?
I want/hope things stay casual/fuck buddies for most of the game and in the end it remains vague or we get to chose one of the girls.
Maybe we arguing the same thing, you said in a post before you not a fan of harems, and if you are like me the reason is that harems aren't realistic and they kinda take friction from relationships, basically making choices pointless.
But hey, if LopaPhi wants to do a basic harem all power to him, it's his game and hope he gets to create the game he has on his mind. Keep his vision.

I just don't get how a Harem when all the girls are Johan girlfriends would make things better for the relationships or commitment with the girls.
All parties should be communicating their intentions and actions more than they are now. They will not do that for a while, because miscommunication is a core driving aspect of drama in stories like these.
Johan is slightly in the wrong. Not because he's in a committed relationship with anyone, but for sexual health reasons. He should be disclosing to his sexual partners that he has had other partners lately, and he should be getting tested for STDs at least after each new partner. The kind of hand stuff that has been done with Saki and Eve is fine as far as my knowledge goes, but Johan should get tested after kissing and oral sex with Lexi regardless of her reputation. The existence of a recent sexual partner should be established before engaging in similar kinds of contact with any other partners.
It would be realistic for the girls to be a little miffed that he's fooling around with multiple people. They can't really be angry about it because none of them have any real moves towards making an emotional attachment known, especially to someone as socially unaware as they know Johan to be. It's a situation where it's understandable and normal to be upset, but past experiences with Johan makes it unreasonable to assume he has an understanding of the soft social mores that go into this sort of social dynamic.
The exception to this is Saki, who has very much established that there's an emotional aspect to their relationship. It would be much more reasonable if she was upset than if the others were.
None of this really matters because it's an AVN. We're unlikely to get an STD, nor are we likely to have a mini-arc where we go and get tested for STDs. We gain much from being able to have scenes with multiple girls, and the relatively mild drama that this lack of communication will produce can give us subplots involving jealousy and lead to the establishment of an emotional connection.

Emm. I think he is in romantic relationship, but since it's his first experience it's not that straight forward and obvious. And do you seriously see how MC says each girl that he is not interested in serious relationship? It would be equal to ending relationship.
I never stated that harem is a good for a relationship. Or that commitment would work with harem. All I'm asking a believable reaction and consequences.

For the sake of clarification, Lexi makes it very clear that her reputation is largely unfounded. Even if she was fucking every guy that she's mildly attracted to, I would not personally care.
But you realistically should get tested after sexual contact with a new partner pretty much regardless of their sexual history, proclaimed or otherwise.

If it isn't a harem that's all fine with me, but then it's needs to have dedicated solo paths and seeing the MC already fooling around with some, the solo paths need to begin soon.
The one approach i really dislike is, you are romantically & sexual involved with all the girls (all of them completely fine with it) and then, near the end, you must choose one...either make it a harem game, or make it a solo path one.
Yeah, harem ain't particular realistic, but all the girls being fine with the MC just banging all of them, because they are not exclusive, is just as ridiculous and frankly, i don't think most care about realistic when it comes to that.
If the story, characters and their relationship is good writen i'm fine with it.

For me the relationship is friendship, he care for the girls, but that doesn't mean that he sees them as girlfriends.
What's on your take on the "harem" should go then?

It's very hard to do it when you try to tell a mostly serious story.
For me I just don't want for the next update for MC to go on a date with Saki and confess is unconditional love to her, and then on the same update he goes on a date with Eve and say the same to her.
Make it casual and let MC have fun with the girls, in the future we'll see where the story goes.
Edit: I feel most of us aren't even with contradictory ideas, it's just hard to explain what we want/expect here
