The Point is that it will hurt Patreon sooner or later the same as pretty much Kickstarters reliability in Game Development has gone down the drain by many devs who either over estimated themselves on a huge project or it was from the beginning planed as fraud and this continues, every failing project causes damage and a lose of trust.
Especially Projects who are like we have this idea "but we need your help" but present no really huge vertical slice to begin with will have a hard time in the future.
And so far only Projects are really promising that pushed years of work before into the project with their own resources and than suddenly appear out of nowhere.
Very few have the thing to grow a entire project on the run with promises to a huge community of "investors" and finish that complete project scope in a regular shipping timeframe.
