Unity - Wings of Empire [v0.3.0d] [Droid Productions]

This game no way deserves a 5 star, not even 4 but here we are seeing reviews over reviews saying how great it is.
I wanna say, don't listen to these people.
This VN has multiple flaws and single strenth(story) which hasn't unfolded yet. So, you can't be rally sure if that would actually happpen.

STORY:
Nothing major to say as at this point, his storytelling talent is pretty good but he has questionable quality when it comes to judgement. Whatever, looks promising. So, I won't let my past trauma to hold me back on hoping something good.

MODELS and ANIMATION
This is where this guy always gets 0 star. I fucking don't know where he lives. He fucking thinks real looking girls have all spots on their faces and body. I don't know, I see plenty of women around me without a single heavy spot on their face and some have as clean as white paper. Also his models always look about the same, he can't bring variety.
Now that goes about his choice and preference. Now his talent. I don't know whether he has eye problem or not but his renders are so washed out, over-exposed, harshed lighting issue that It reminds me of the VGA cameras of early 2000s era.

The game mechanics are not traditional(good). It will irritate the f-out of most people but I kinda liked it as If I were you I would play this one or any from this dev just for story. And for that story the dialogue box is actually good once you get used to it.

Overall I would suggest regular people to stay away from it(for now). But if you are a space opera fan then sure, dig in. This guy knows how to write some story even though Choherency isn't his stong area.

SN: I might raise the stars to when the story is stablished it's most plot weavings and depending how satisfactory it is I might raise 1 star.
But now it deserves 2* for the promise of a good story. Everything else is a disappointment. Practically giving 1* instead of 2 to balance out all those reviews from the cult.

Alright, I think I'm going to give this a provisional 5 stars.
There's a lot to like about it, and some things to dislike. The girls are good, diverse, have personality, are sexy, and often kinky. The story is good.
The effects of war are handled exceptionally well. Death, trauma, rage, failure, success, and more. The acknowledgement of what total war would mean. Plenty of games, adult and otherwise, have stories that take place in a war, but not all are true war stories - stories about cost. This is, and yet it avoids getting too dark. (At least for now.)
The worldbuilding is outstanding. That's a big part of why I'm giving this 5 stars now, instead of waiting for more. The attention to detail, the construction of the setting, and the way it influences the characters and their backgrounds is great. It's earned my respect, and that's something.
It has its flaws, of course. The sex scenes are very good, but not great. The combat minigame is a work in progress. The nukes are only 10 kTonnes (WTF). Saves go into a list, which makes it hard to maintain multiple playthroughs.
But, at the end of the day, and the end of the game, I really wanted to keep playing, in no small part due to the story. That's rare.
The game can go in several directions, quality wise, and this rating may change. But for now, it's both rewarding and promising, which is all you can really want in a game at this stage.

PROS:

1. LIs are as always for this developer quite attractive and sexy.
2. Writing is very good, another thing this developer does well.
3. Dialogue is interesting, well thought and interaction between MC and characters or among each other are nicely put together.
4. Story is intriguing and lore rich which is a major driving factor for me.
5. Combat mini game is actually fun, very much like Warhammer - Rogue Trader's.

CONS:

1. Slow burn of this developers games have been a point of frustration for me.
2. Added to the point above, this VN will most likely not tick many kinky boxes so fetishes will not be found here.
3. Lewd scenes and their animations are not bad, but simple, short and have poor angles.

FINAL REMARKS, OPINIONS & SUGGESTIONS:

NOTE: The following remarks are my personal opinions and thoughts, which may provide more context and could be useful to the developer.

• This game will probably be the slow burn type as per the developers other game of similar style, which is OK but relies a hell of a lot on story and intrigue to keep the player vested IMO, something of a gamble of an AVN, but the dev has pulled it off before (more or less)
• Per above points, the game is and probably will mostly focus on story over visual and sexual encounters, plus the encounters that are there, are simple and rather basic/bland (vanilla if you will)
• I would like to know if there will be more tags and what we can expect of this AVN in the future, pregnancy and the like.
• LITTLE GRIPE: Is it just me or whats with the MCs look, his face is older than his body, they talk about scars but the guy has none on his "young" body. His face looks like something between David Hasselhoff and Tom Selleck The hair on his head doesn't look good either, it looks glued on...Seriously, most of, if not all other characters look good but the MC...his head/face, this really needs some work PLEASE!

TLDR:

I find the game intriguing and I like the sci-fi genre as much as the fantasy one so I expect good things from this game. Its a bit slow and adult themes are still few and far between. At least so far, but don't expect a heavy porn orientated VN if you are. Overall a relatively good AVN that actually has game-play to it also. Well done.

So far the story checks all the boxes for a compelling space opera. Droid's writing style shines through crisp dialogue and narrative, seamlessly weaving lore into slice-of-life scenes and mission briefings.
This makes for a very smooth read that balances military action with character development. The renders are gorgeous and the space combat animations are impressive for an indie production.

Love Droid's games. Was following this one from the start. The game is great so far, all girls are hot and well written as usual. But let's be honest, the best part of his games is a story. Like the concept, attention to details. Should be another grate game.

Great game/VN so far and Droid has been excellent with past games as well. The girls are great of course but the story is the real prize in this game/VN. I have greatly enjoyed all of Droid's work and look forward to the rest of this story.

Excellent game by a top developer. As of v0.2.0(first two chapters of the game) this has the potential to be as good as Love of Magic, which is a truly special trilogy. Can't wait to see where this is going. So far the story is 10/10 and the girls are 10/10.
