RPGM - Witched Tale [Demo 1.0] [Manulkett]

Albeit short, as it is still in development, the game has great potential. The art is good; the battle mechanics can be fun if more challenging content gets made; the battle-rape is good content; the story is cohesive, not boring and forced.

Good game, would buy when done.

This is one of those games that is well above most other games of it's type in many ways.

It has a nice story, interesting characters and the art is absolutely top notch. Not just the art but also the animations are great. It really looks like people who know what they are doing are working on this, which I suppose they are. The fighting system while simple, does give you a little mini game to get away from the monotony of RPGM combat.

The only thing I am not a fan of is a rape scene with two guys near the start of the game that is unavoidable. It's not one of those "She gets into it after a while" rape scenes, no she bleeds and cries, with sad music playing... that's really not fun at all...

Can only judge a demo by what is offered so far of course, but I am really looking forward to more.

I am amazed with how devs approached RPGM game. This game stands out from most RPGM games that you can find on F95.

Story
The prologue (what is available as of 18.09.2024) was done really well. It gives a few choices through which player gets introduced to world. Most importantly, at the end of this prologue, player is given a reason/motivation to act in a way that is expected from an adult game.The way it was done reminded me the prologue in Dragon Age: Origins.

Art
Incredible live2D art. I understand that it is highly subjective matter but I really love style that is used, it is aesthetically pleasing and charming. I really hope that this game will avoid fate of games where art style changes and loses its charm.

Gameplay
It was good. Intractability of CGs is a good touch, and ability to influence how they play out are a good addition. As for combat that I were able to experience at the very end of this Demo, it was engaging. There are some interesting mechanics that I hope to see in the future.

Conclusion
Want to wish devs to succeed in their plans. As for me, I can say that I will watch your career game with great interest.

i dont think i've ever given 5/5 for a demo. but it's a very nice game. interesting plot, multiple choices to go forward, the base premise is similar to princess sacrifice in a way, but it has a unique plot to "force" you to sexual corruption yet it has rape/molestation etc.

it's relatively short like 1-2h game but it's still not a straightforward game so it's quite interesting to try routes out.

i hope the dev continues this because then it will be a very good game. i might change my rating depending on future patches, i will follow this for sure, let's hope it won't get abandoned like before. it has some bugs in this release but nothing gamebreaking.

Supposed to be a multiple choice game but forces several scenes on the player, including a rape scene that's really disgusting to look at. On the other hand, some scenes are only available by losing intentionally. That's just bad gameplay.
No clear marking on which parts lead to the next map segment or whatever it's called also needs to be mentioned. You'll walk along a path and hit the edge and expect it to take you to the next map only it won't.
Also, storyline is needlessly cruel to the MC.
The decent art is wasted on this game.

I'm so conflicted because this is a game I wanted to be amazing from the first time I played it. Decent art and aesthetic design, real ambitious plans for an RPGM game, a small but inspiring tag list. A bit of humor too.

Unfortunately that was at least over a year ago, probably quite a bit longer. Needless to say I was super excited to see there had been an update, even a title art change I believe. There is no new content. None. Hell, not even putting in all the things in the F95 images. Instead, it's a "beta test" version, with new game sending you to a baffling room with NPCs who tell you pointless laborious things you can test for the dev. For many of them it's not even clear how to do them though. I still have no idea how to enable the character portrait.

Frankly I gave this game a 3 because I don't want to drag its score down too much and scare off people who might try it. Because I'm stupid, I still want people to see this game, and for the dev to become inspired and actually add something. As of right now, there is functionally nothing, and the past year or more has not changed that in the slightest.

The game looks really good, especially for an rpgmaker game which usually doesn't even go out of their way to make a 'couple' custom assets.

Right out the gate this game shows you some great visuals to accompany the game's worldbuilding. It makes me wonder what kind of fun game they could develop and build up if it wasn't an h-game.

Personally I would love to see them try their hand using another engine to make games. The UI isn't a problem but I'm curious to see if they'd want to stylize the UI to make the whole experience stand out as far as it does.

To be fair, for a beta testing, this left me feeling very impressed.
Definitely keep an eye out for when this game gets fully released.
(Another slight downside is that the filesize is big, but there's an option to download the game compressed.)

It is still on work but the story so far sounds good and the graphics are top tier too.
So in the future we will get an incredible game. Can't wait to play the full game at its best.
And a quote: please don't rush the game dev. Every rpg game needs time to get build. Just like : Rome wasn't build in 1 day

A new, underdeveloped game. I absolutely love the art, beautiful stuff. Can't wait to see where this goes. Hope the creator works hard on this for a long time, and good luck to them.
