This is a project in desperate need of an editor. Dialogue scenes are really long, front-loading exposition rather than placing it various places through the story, characterization is blunt and direct, with us being told about a character and their backstory rather than seeing it unfold in front of us, and the game seems to frequently establish rules only to immediately disregard them. Concepts are explained and re-explained ad nauseum, as we're told multiple times about things that were already established.
A big example of the problems I mentioned comes in the opening, where several lines in an exchange are spent establishing why they do not constantly keep protective wards around their house (essentially, it would be too much magical energy), almost immediately after this, something uses magic to break into one of the characters' rooms and the other characters are like "oh no, it must've snuck in between us changing out our protective wards." You just spent several lines of dialogue and literally multiple minutes of my reading time establishing that you don't have protective wards up all the time! What was the point of that if not to make sure you don't have to make excuses like this? It's the most egregious example but most of what I played was entirely like this. This is a project that desperately needs someone to go through this writing and trim the fat.
