VN - Ren'Py - Onhold - Work Lust [0.4 Remake] [Zoneh69]

The background story is ok. Just slice of life stuff but there's nothing wrong with that. It's clearly the visual look that the MC has tried to change with the remaster but its a mixed result. I think its better than the original but not great. Previously the MC was strange and the females were a bit boring. Now the MC is okay but the female characters are a bit strange with a 1950's beauty vibe to them with big lips, big tits, small waist and big hips. I'm sure some will love it. Its like a classy bimbo look but too me it just looks fake and unappealing, Straight away in the scene Warren and Irma look so odd together. He is normal sized and she looks larger than him and oddly proportioned. What makes worse is this look is given to all the female characters. They are all so similar, they could all be related. The only difference is the hair colour. Do Jill and Irma have the same face/body? I had trouble telling them apart in some scenes. You never think 'ohh she's hot!' with any of the female characters. It's such a shame as AVN's without this kind of miss the point and have to rely heavily on the story or humour being good and that is where this one falls down, as it does not have enough of either. Take any average office, the women don't all look the same. Please can we have some variety. Even if you just use stereotypical types that seem to be in lots of AVN's there could be a hot Asian chick, a sexy black girl, a feisty Latino, a tall skinny girl, the short dumpy but cute nerd with glasses, the sexy grandma and please can we have some normal sized tits!!

General AVN rant incoming... but what's wrong with normal sized women! Beautiful standard models are fine. Why do devs have to play with the female characters so much. Is it to stand out in a saturated market? Well it does stand out when your reading and it constantly distracts from the immersion. Why can't we just have normal women and get on with the story? Rant over...

On the plus side the bedroom scene with Tara was nice. I really like the cool, calculating indifference of the MC as he f*cks with people in the office and Warren is well done as the annoying little sh*t. Also how is the MC vacuuming while on the phone? He must have a very quiet vacuum. Can't hear sh*t when mines on.

I hope it doesn't seem like I'm having a go at the dev as they have clearly tried to respond to criticism of their VN which has the decent beginnings of a office story that people clearly don't seem to be responding to so far. It deserves more than its getting and they should get a lot credit for starting again but unfortunately I still don't think it works visually. Perhaps rather than start again, again, they could gradually reduce the lips, tits and increase the waists on some of the female characters, introduce some new different looking LI's (more scenes at home/neighbours/out and about?) and the VN will get better visually as we go on with the story. I hope so but either way, I'm enjoying the story so far and I hope the dev carries on.

What a depressing story. Pretty boring as well.

The mc gets run over every day at the office. Everyone dumping their work on him then taking credit. Most all treat him like crap and he just takes it. I guess the main goal is to feel sorry for him?

Other than the mc being so weak and pathetic there really isn't any story.

The women look fine. More toward the bimbo look if that's your thing. Hard pass for me.

The muted colors add to the depressing feel even though the Dev has done a good job choosing them.

I mean....I guess it's supposed to be a downer story? More reading than playing or choosing...

Def skip for me. I felt worse after playing/reading it which wasn't what I was after.

Could be an interesting take on the office plot. But it is so bad executed, even a remake didn't cut it.

The MC is unbearable. It is painful how he bows ro every fuck up that spits his way. As far as I could tell he got better in the remake, but thats a really low bar. The amount of time I wanted to grab him and smash him against something... And all that in a really short game, because for a 0.4 there is very little.

The women look aweful. I think it is a certain kink to have them pumped up like sex dolls, but their faces are weird and disproportionate.
Almost none of them are in any shape or form desirable. From the toilet whore to the office whore, from a notorious lier to the overdone bitch trope. And all "sex" scenes are with exactly the women I despised. "Sex" in the sense of watching them masturbate or using the toilet whore at a gloryhole. Ther is Meghan, but considering that every other "LI" got worse and worse the more I read, I have little hope for her.

Of course we have the antagonist. Don't know what to say about him, typical NTR-trap. One of the women seem to be a future LI, who fucks him and cheats with someone else.

The graphics and animations are basic but ok. I had stuttering with every animation frame. Dunno why, don't care.

Really with another remake, bringing back women that look like human beings, and removing all the whoring at least from the LIs, this could get interesting.
At the moment it is just sad.

This game needs more lewds for being 3 episodes in IMO

Also I would say I think the episodes are a little bit too short. But it has a lot of potential

Please also help MC get some sort of glow up or something because right now I want to stuff him into a locker

OK the reworked version has more lewds and MC doesn't look like a dweeb anymore, so very positive on that front BUT the women all look atrocious now and not realistic in any way shape or form anymore which is why I am moving my score down to 2 stars. Dev had the opportunity to fix things and then made some thing sbetter but some things way worse.

Now sure the MC is ugly but he doesn't have the uncanny valley ugly and my poor rating has nothing to do with that, the big issue is the dev put this out into the world and there is barely anything to it, and unlike some reviewers, I don't see tits or a fetish I like and go "potential, 5 stars".

A first update is extremely important, its to show the world what I can do, and so you want the audience to find things they'll like, want them coming back for more.

The dialogue flows well but it's your standard put upon nerd intro and then it just suddenly ends at a fairly mundane scene of some character we barely know thinking that maybe they where too mean to the nerd. A first update either needs to have some nice sexy content, or interesting development (perfect start has both), this has neither because other than knowing that one guy bullies the lead, no one else has any real characterization.

Now I'm not saying this is a lost cause, who knows, maybe a year from now it'll be amazing, but you need to show that first.
