Ren'Py - Worlds of Wonders [P2 v0.3.2] [It's Danny]

Really enjoying this one and need more, always disappointing when the current update comes to an end (booo), story is really good and so may kinks in here to suit a lot of folks. Renders are all really great too! Personally I'm happy a dev has finally realised that just because you are a Dom doesn't mean you don't like to be peed on from time to time! Great work Danny!!

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. The biggest problem this game has is overscoping. It's been in development for 4 years, I think, but the story feels like it's still in the intro stage. It would be much better if they only focused on a smaller cast. It feels like 3 different games at points.

The technical stuff and world-building are done well for the most part. The animations are pretty bad and only get a bit better. There are a lot of kinks, which is a plus, but most of the sex scenes are too short and lack passion.

It really feels like a missed opportunity, because this could've been a really great game. They absolutely have the skills to make good shit. But it would be hard to fix things now, the focus is in so many different directions.

One of the main reasons why I give this game such a low rating is because of the chaos and zero structure in the script. This plot is just terrible and very badly written. There are some good characters (like Yuki or Deana), but the general focus of the MC's attention is diverted in the opposite direction, and that's just very frustrating. On top of that, I see that this "Danny" developer likes to spoil the defloration scenes with prematurely broken hymens, which were torn by the dildo before we get to the first-time sex scene. For me, it's like an insult and a very stupid move. I know that not many people care about this, and that's their business, but for me, this is critical, and every developer who likes to do this shit is bound to get the lowest rating from me. The magic and sci-fi elements are not looking good and don't capture my interest at all; the sections with the cyborg clone are a big failure too. Very boring. and not worth your time at all. And things that dev has done with some LI are irredeemable and unforgivable, so I personally prefer to avoid this game and all games this developer will produce.

Re review after the split v3.0.1
After the split the story now makes much more sense, as the cyborg story has been reduced and you have the option to not see some of it in part 2. It's now, more a good wizard story, with an odd, cyborg side story you can ignore going forward. I hope this continues with all of it optional in the future and the focus completely shifts to university life. There's a good, new scene which introduces your kink choices much earlier into the game and everything is now much more logical and an excellent 'frarorities' introduction scene. Even though I had start again, I would recommend everyone does, as its now a more cohesive story with lots of small improvements, as well as the major one. There are still the translation errors throughout the text, but this is a massive improvement, even though there's less content overall now. It's good enough to increase the rating from 3 to 4 stars.

Pre Split
Wow this VN is a mixed bag. It's like the dev can't make a decision over what game they want to make, so all the ideas they like are just spilled out in one VN. It constantly being fiddled with rather than progressing the story forward and to be honest its a mess. This really is two stories running simultaneously rather than one. A wizard, university story and a cyborg, space story. I'm sure in the devs head it all makes perfect sense and if we wait till the end it might make sense to us. Unfortunately, I don't think the vast majority will make it there to find out, as they really don't fit together so far. The mini games and the free roams don't add anything either but do increase the 'what is going on here' feeling. Personally, I love the wizard story and would give it 4 stars, however the cyborg space story is terrible and is only a 1 star. Every time it comes up, it hits you like a truck and you're left thinking, can I drag my self through the cyborg story again until the next wizard part or just skip through. It's generally the later so I'm hoping the cyborg story isn't fundamental and I miss anything major. If the focus shifted to university life and relationships and away from the home life it would a much better story.

Visually its pretty good with a good mixture of LI's, some beautiful and some not so but I think there's something for everyone. Sadly, some of the side characters are better looking than the main LI's but this leads to some fantastic interactions you're not expecting, such as gloryhole girl, the office manager and it's always great to have a milfshake! On the downside some of the animations are a bit basic with two movements that are repeated quickly and can look very jerky and odd. In addition you can explore your kinks in a fun way, if you have any here. All seem welcome, which is fantastic and gives real variety in scenes that some VN's are desperately missing. However this VN seems perfect for a harem given the number of kinks and the openness here but it looks like you have to choose one LI, as some routes appear to be automatically blocked off. It's difficult to tell but the MC is repeatedly talking about serious relationships rather than casual fun but it's not clear how you choose who you end up with.

There's also a bit of 'lost in translation' in the writing where, I presume, some words and phrases have been mistranslated from the dev's original language such as 'phone net', 'driving to Dark Falls' when you are taking the train journey rather than by car, 'it gets better' rather than she's getting better and 'you cannot tell one to love someone'. This a shame, especially as they are throughout the text, some of which is 4 years old but they still haven't been sorted out. A final huge problem is the dev keeps changing things making your previous saves not work so you keep having to start again. Yes, the changes are generally better but not massively so and would be much better to start a new separate chapter with any new features, rather than us having to start again.

I want to like this VN so much. I really like the wizard story, it is fun and I think it has huge potential, I just wish you didn't have to get through everything else to get to the good bits. If the dev had narrowed down the focus in the last few years, the wizard story could have been done by now with great success and the dev could be making a new companion story about cyborgs in space that makes a lot more sense as two separate stories!

Just finished 0.3.0, phenomenal game so far. I was a little lost following the story but thats bc the blood wasn't rushing to my brain. I really like the characters and fetishes in the game, and this game has the potential to be a masterclass of exposition, rare fetishes, power fantasy, and choice, and thats really cool. I hope the rest of development continues, and I hope there remains a focus on keeping this game heavy with exposition and that the story just doesnt fall apart randomly.

I really enjoyed this in the beginning but once the cyborg plot started the story just started to go all over the place, I dont mind the cyborg plot but it needs to be done better and keep the story progressing while being interesting.
Was a VN that I kept a eye out for every update but now it will be one that I look at towards the end of the year to see how it has progressed.

PROS:

1. Some nice looking renders and an MC that looks good too and not some babyface.

4. Nice amount of kinks, bit for everyone and done well.
5. Interesting story, weird and the dreams are pretty twisted but interesting nevertheless.
6. Music and lewd sound especially are a welcome addition.
7. Choices are nice, allowing you to pick your kinks.
8. Dialogue is good, sometimes a bit much but over good and characters are all interesting and complex enough.
9. I also liked how detailed the magic training is, not just that but many aspects of the game show clearly significant effort went into it. The training with Lily just emphasized it through the descriptive nature of things. The caveat of this is though that much time is spent on what can be a lot of technical frivolity.

CONS:

1. Bugs, many images missing errors especially during training sessions with Lily.
2. Writing is not always the best, consistent, grammatically correct and some typos.
3. Too much going on that detracts from the overall plot, which should be the MC and finding out about his family and powers. The cyborg introduction threw me and I wanted to get back to the root of the matter. Dev needs to stay focused.
4. Sadly not enough content, in as much as content that actually feels like its getting anywhere.

FINAL THOUGHTS & SUGGESTIONS:

• With choices, its hard to sometimes know to what extent your choice will change things in the future, but so far has not really come to bite me in the ass and force me to redo from that save. *knock on wood
• I feel this game is fairly good, but suffers IMO from the developers overambitious desire to have so many "Worlds". There is too much that the developer/writer seems to want to do but gets really nowhere as the game focuses SLOWLY on the MC navigating "regular" life and relationships. He makes very little progress in terms of finding out what happened to his biological parents or his abilities, because he is perpetually doing several things on several fronts. All these distractions are actually getting annoying to me and you could easily have written a hell of a lot but focusing on where the MC clearly wants to be, that is at the magic world.
• Due to the above and the fact that the game has been around for a little while (2021) , I am concerned that it will loose interest of the player and ultimately support because its never ending. At least in terms of no significant strides are made within the overall plot. I mean the whole android copy of him...that was actually not good, fun or really interesting to me.
• Per above points and concluding the game up to its current version, I must say that I am indeed a bit disappointment in the pace that the game is developed. While I say this, I am impressed by the content itself, there is some good content here, but I feel that much of the sex and kinky shit, becomes almost a little too common place that it looses its luster, while I enjoy it all and in a way can't get enough, I wish the game would progress more and the MC makes strides in his abilities and the overall story but while doing that keep doing the kinky shit. Right now the game is stagnant to me, the MC does not really progress and all the sexual scenes are mostly between Lily and Vi, which are great but also just becoming boring also those characters are not developing anything meaningful with the MC, is just a fuckfest and again...gets boring. You will see when you play it what I am getting at...
• The android/cyborg part of the story didnt do the game any favours, here is more than enough in the magical world to keep the player vested, the dev doing this simply frustrated me and wasted time that could have been spent pushing that magic angle and the MC parents.

When the game begins,the game is great,the story telling,the art,the sex stuff and kinks(if you are into that) the overall quality is great,but than you get introduced to a cyborg or a robot MC and the story has me clicking very fast through it and when i go back to the main story its less interesting to play.I feel like if this can be fixed,the game is east 4,4.5 stars worthy.When that happens i will update my rating if i can(this is my first ever written rating so i dont really know if i can update it later or not).

Good start Ruined

This game started off great, nice premise, great renders, varied characters, nice animations. Story well written. Then... A cyborg looking like the MC appears and some random splitting story arc begins... i found myself skipping through most of it and when it got back to the original story, I felt myself less invested.

Its a shame as this was a high 4star game, which is now barely a 3star one due to the dev's random decision to fuck with what was a decent storyline

The first part was really good, plenty of girls all kinds of kinks that you decide yes or no on which I really liked. The story was really good with a guy who learns he can do magic and is really good at. Then about half way through they shoehorn some kind of sci-fi story with a cyborg that looks like him. What, why would you do that you had a good story going and you decide to really confuse things by adding two different genres in one story. Instead of getting a four or five stars I'm giving you three stars .

This was surprisingly good, I love all the fetishes and honestly everything about it. I am very depraved so the scat (completely optional btw) near the end was great, hope for more depravity with the next update. Keep up the great work and can't wait for more!

I'm going to put this as 4* for now. Initially I was very excited by the whole premise even with it seeming a bit like there was a lot going on with both worlds. I didn't like the idea of the cyborg when he was first introduced. It felt like a weird gimmick to introduce ntr or something like that. This most recent update however has changed that. I feel the robot will become an interesting character and add a good new aspect of gameplay for anyone who is into that. Especially with the option to transform his body. Sharing memories as well and controlling the character does also reduce any feelings where you're not in control.

Basically, the themes and story are really good and I look forward to seeing where they go. Gameplay is a nice mix of story and optional extras (with the phone and apps on there). Definitely has potential to be a 5* in the future. Much luck to the dev and I hope to see this carrying on for many future updates.

This feels like it was wrote by someone with sever adhd that cant focus on anything. It started off ok, it had a basic story mc learns he has magic goes to magic school. Even some of the stuff with the vampires and the weird house you visit and kind of didn't mesh all that great but it was on theme at the very least... but this cyborg stuff feels like a second game randomly shoe horned in. This has somehow turned into multiple protagonist game. I don't understand why anyone would give a fuck about the cyborgs story or want to see it have h scenes. It just feels so disconnected from the mc and his story. There are other story threads that have started and go nowhere and it feels like this will continue in this game because the writer has no idea what they want in this game. I'm not saying games cant have multiple genres but they need to make sense and mesh together and I think that's where this game falls down.

Right of the start MC seems so brainless, he meets a girl who turns into something not human, and MC dosent really try to find out wtf is going on and then he trust this unknown weird girl when she says its not safe at hes hotel, and he sleeps at her place???? how about getting the fuck out of there multiple weird girl hiding and refuseing to give any kind of information and he sleeps there???? how about going back to the hotel where hes already been sleeping with no issues......

Not only that hes a complete idiot, hes not supposed to tell anyone about hes dad and the house and yet first chance he gets he spilds the beans to the wierd girl after hearing more weird shit from listening in on her...

But still story is (was) great and it (was) easy to get hooked, its also well written and i love the selection of girls, there are alot and mostly all unique, something for everyone big tits, small tits and those in between, a ton of fetishes but none are forced on you.

Which makes me think of the choices in this game, they are simply just great, you can select who you want to fuck or not to be with, nothing is forced no girls no fetish, you truely feel free to do and pick whatever you wish, such a rare thing in alot of games and i love it.

Then the cyborg can spy on Lin playing with her self, then spy on the sister in shower....cyborg is not the MC and never will be.....or i guess maybe he will just take over at some point but i dont really care about finding out since nothing makes sense, i mean once MC finds out about it after the mind sharing shit he just accepts that the cyborg spys on MCs girls? and agrees to share minds again later? what? instend of getting him the fuck out of hes life? its like hes asking for the cyborg to take over hes life and fuck hes girls and MC will be happy about it.....to me it just feels brainless and killed what was a damn good story...man that annoys me...

And this cyborg stuff will be the main story and main plot going forward, having two MCs which means alot less quality in story and all the stuff i loved with the magic and school and such will come second background stuff for what is now the real story about a cyborg.

I enjoyed the story untill it changed into something totaly diffrent, it was fun with all the diffrent things like magic,vamps,deamons,elfs and so on, but adding a second MC so far into the game killed it.

Well there is plenty to pick from and there should be something for everyone, which is pretty rare normaly theres only focus on big tit fetish which i am not into so happy to see a balanced game for once, quality could be a bit better though.

Not much to say, you deside what girl you want to be with and what fetish you want to play with, choices seems to work perfectly in this game, and i wish all games would put in this much effort.

This dev decided to create this work by putting a bunch of different h-game plots in a hat, sticking his hand in, and grabbing... every single one of them.

It's a skipfest but the characters are nice looking, it has some niche fetish content, and it's kinda fappable. Pretty clear cut 2.5 star game

The Harem's power, looks every game tagged like harem should have women that will get in love with the MC no matter what, every woman will want to fuck him no matter if they meet him 5 minutes ago or if they meet him when he was a baby, there are moments when the MC will have sex with women without a reason, like one scene when a woman is touching herself in front the MC without reason and other girl doing the same in a train, they don't have sex but only because the power of the script.

I love how everyone talks about how smart the MC is but there are a lot of moments when he lacks of common sense.

I love how the game force characters relantionships or interactions, like Keira, she is the most anoying and disgusting character in the game because she is "corrupting" his "sister" and the MC knows that but he does nothing to get rid of her and when we have a "chance" to do it, the MC thinks, "I don't want to ruin Lyn and Keira friendship", really?? Since the start we are told that Keira is a bad influence and making Lyn a worst person but when you can change that you do nothing? are you brain damaged or what? Again, the power of the script is indescriptible.

The MC being pretty homophobic for a young man that is supposed to be smart, educated and polite, when he meets Sam he make comments about Sam being a man many times when clearly someone with a little of common sense and polite would know that is rude. So Sam was talking with Nancy and the MC does those comment and she leaves sad. The MC slow like always don't understand what happened so Nancy points out what he did wrong because like I said, he has the common sense of a brick, and then he have a machist's though that "Sam catched really fast how to be a woman because they twitch every word a man says". Really this guy is so smart like the game want us to believe?

If you choose to date Sam the MC will start to think about find another trans woman and have sex with her, before to be with Sam to know if he will like it, WTF??

We are in a world where magic, demons, vampires, etc, exist and the MC wants to go and rescue a girl from vampires, he ask for help, people tells him is a bad idea and they give him pretty good reasons. He feels angry and "dissapointed" because they don't want to help and acts like a stupid and tries to rescue her without thinking that maybe he could get her killed or even him, because he knows nothing about that world and he is going against vampires not against harmless homeless people.

There are moments when the MC contradicts himself about what he says or think, like he was just trying to justify his stupidity.

Random scenes like the coffee shop, you can ask for a milkshake and the woman will take out her boobs in front of everyone and milk herself to make the milkshake and no one cares or act surprised or anything, is like something of everyday, looks like you could jerk off in that coffee shop and cum in a glass and probably they will find it okay too.

The mom and sister aren't related to him by blood, even with the patch, so what is the point of a patch if they aren't related?
Is like if you are fucking your neighboor´s daughter, but you call him dad, so if we follow the Devs logic, you are commiting incest, even when you aren't related to any of them. That is fucking stupid.

Forgot about the sex scenes, this Dev clearly don't understand what his public is, why in the world I would want to see the MC's asshole while he fucks?? Is like in porn movies where the cameraman puts the cam right in the guy ass. I don't want to see that FOR FUCKS SAKE!!

In conclusion I don't recommend this game, probably if you are curious just unlock the gallery to see whats in it, but personally I wouldn't play it again.

Premise of this game at first seemed like some others, but dev did a great job keeping the story interesting. Game play is well paced with both dialog and erotic content. Mini games are skip-able as is content. Over all an excellent job and well worth a play.

Very nice little game. The renders are nice, animations smooth, and the story is just fine. Its always a tricky thing to make a game that takes place in the future, and well this one has issues with that. Apparently we are still using iphones and driving minivans around a hundred years from now, but that sort of thing is more a function of the cost of making ALL the background assets science fictioney I'm guessing.

There is plenty of lewd content for a story forward game and serve a wide variety of kinks. The women in the game are also of a wide variety. From nubile coed barely legals to GILFs, normal girls, trans girls and demon girls. Its all in there, and rather well done.

The story is... fine, but the actual writing is... not amazing. Its a bit Engrishy with a fair number of grammar issues. It was obviously written by someone who doesnt speak English as a first language, but I had no problems following everything and the writing actually didnt come off as robotic like a lot of translations do. It all just needed another pass from a native english speaker. I suspect its probably well written in the original language. Like i said I was mostly okay with the issues.

A big issue i did have that cost the title a full star or so is that its buggy. Like send you back to the main menu buggy. There are fixes for it but I had to hunt far and wide to get em. Annoying, and really even a little alpha/beta testing would have caught it. That's really unacceptable. Game breaking bugs are so rare in Ren'py games these days so that really just stands out.

Worlds of Wonders [v0.2.12 Bugfix]

Story/Narrative
Essentially this story is Hogwarts in the modern setting, but clashed against advanced technology. There is decent exposition sprinkled here and there on the news, talked about by the characters and the MC alike. So world immersion is built fairly well as a result. The first half of the game I would say explores more of the magical side, with technology being given relatively less screen time. But the story doesn't even seem halfway done so I'm sure that will be expanded upon as more updates come out.
That being said the whole Hogwarts vs Technology seems to take a back seat to the love interests. There are a wide cast of characters with varying personalities, and different motivations. This review isn't really based on the story, but if I had to solely base it off of the narrative I would give it 3 out of 5 stars as of right now. The writing doesn't really give enough payoff for all the build up, in other words; there haven't been enough significant events to justify the journey. I'm just hoping they expand a little on the technology side of the story, and build up the inevitable climax of the MC and his family.

Gameplay/Choices
Throughout the game there are multiple choices the player can make to influence the content they see. A good amount of kinks/fetishes are already showcased through the beginning of the game and as shown in the new app on the phone, plenty more will be explored. All of which seem to be toggled on or off so that is a plus. There are two minigames I can remember that are optional to pass certain tasks in the story. One is only used once, and the other ranges to easy from pretty challenging. So variety is poor but they're skippable so it doesn't really effect the game negatively or postively.

Bugs/Grammar
The BUGS in this game are quite frankly terrible. Mainly because they made me quit to the main menu multiple times. The way I had to play this game, was to have the original game in one folder; then have a copy in another. One copy would have a patch I downloaded to fix the UI error with the phone. But that fix actually broke the menu screen; so I couldn't save/load. I had to quicksave, then hop over to the other copy without the fix to continue.
I would like to add I've played at least dozens of adult visual novels before this. Never once did I have to do what I had to for this game. Needless to say, but these errors need to be completely fixed next update.
I can't remember any grammar mistakes, so either there were none or there were a small handful so I forgot about them.

Cinematography/Soundtrack
The renders in this game are pretty average. Though there are some details in this game I haven't seen in to many others. The camerawork in most cases is pretty generic and just seems like they leveled the camera for every shot. Which doesn't take away from the game mind you, it just makes it feel more of the same in terms of visual novels. There is no real identity or signature look the game has that makes it stand out from the others. Soundtrack is very bare bones. It's not muted thankfully, there was effort put into multiple scenes that adds to the atmosphere. But some songs linger to long or seem just a bit off in terms of the current scenario.

Side Notes
The Futa/Trans tag is for the transgender females in the game, that take a more realistic version of the trans tag. Not the hyper futa you might see in porn (for those wondering).

Overall
The game definitely needs more work but the dev seems to be posting semi-frequently so I fairly certain we will see improvement. But until then I don't recommend playing this.
