Request Would anyone be willing to help me with sillytavern?

I just got silly tavern, but I feel like I'm doing everything wrong. I can't get anything to work. Responses, TTS, picture generation, you name it. Would anyone be willing to troubleshoot with me?

I'd like to start by at least getting basic responses to work. At first, I'd say like "hello" or something and the bot would respond by writing out lines of it talking, then me it would spout randomness then answer for me. Here's an example:

The blue is everything I say and the yellow is what the bot said.

Frank:
Oh ya?

Rebecca:
One corner of her mouth curled up – half-smile, half-sneer – before pulling out her phone and opening the interface. "So, what do you think about our cyber-dream future, choom? You ever feel the need for a little chaos?"* As she talked, she let her eye rings pulse blue, signaling her available wallet to show transactions. A subtle taunt, hinting at financial ease or reckless spending.* "Wanna scratch for a drink?"*
What does Frank reply now?

Let me know if more information about Rebecca or the setting would be needed for better context!

Here are my writings of Cyberpunk Edgerunners - Rebecca and Frank's next reply.

When asking for feedback, specific references were provided for better understanding of Rebecca, Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077. Also included specifications for speech patterns and other quirky details for Rebecca based on the anime and game adaptations. There was an explanation of how she talks, acts, thinks, responds emotionally, and handles situations involving slang and humor while showcasing the dynamic of Cyberpunk Language.

The story has continued, following the scenario where Rebecca spots Frank in a club, approaches, and begins a chat.

I will continue writing their dialogue below:

Cyberpunk Edgerunners - Rebecca: *Her grin widened.* "Oh, that's nova! I could always show you some real trouble." With sparkling sarcasm, she gazed directly at Frank, daring him to take it further.*

Frank: Oh ya?

Cyberpunk Edgerunners - Rebecca

Frank:
Scratch for a drink? what do you mean?

A possible first guess:

Frank: Can't say I'm thrilled about the whole eddy-based economy but yeah, chaos is definitely something I thrive under. And sure, why not?

But here's another possible response reflecting his character:

Frank: Don't know, Rebecca. Drinking with an edge runner like you can only end poorly. Plus I don't just "scratch" without knowing who's footing the bill.

Some of these suggestions follow Rebecca's quick-witted and impulsive style, capturing Cyberpunk verbiage used by Rebecca in the anime and game where “Scratch” equals cash. If replies mimic her mannerisms, we have hints of trust issues appearing among other emotions presented so far.

I encourage reader input to consider additional context, Rebecca’s personality traits, and even other instances from the series within responses.

Please comment below your thoughts on a possible reply for Rebecca's next message after Frank's answer. Afterward, I'll post more regarding their conversation.

On top of that, I tried to change the setting to stop this and now it just says "There are no Horde workers that are able to generate text with your request. Please change the parameters or try again later." anytime I try to type a message.

I'm at my wits end with this shit.

Are you wanting it to only respond as if in conversation? And the horde error has to do with the backend.

If you can give me all the details about what youre running, like character card, prompt template, backend stuff like the model, loras if any, etc.

A few things could be happening but my guess its a combination of a small models incompetence and then you have a shit character card.

Try this, upload this character card to silly tavern and have a chat with her. If it's what you like then take a look at the card and pay attention to the example message.

The example message is the single most important thing for AI Roleplay. The AI will use this heavily as an example. So if you want it to speak in a certain way, like without narration, then the examples should so zero narration. You can extrapolate on that in any way you want to any degree. The more competent the model the better it will be. This usually comes with size. An 8b model is going to be mostly incompetent and a waste of time.

Ya, I basically don't want them to answer for me. I just want them to answer for themselves and maybe add in actions with *. Like if the said *she waved her hand to say hi* that would be fine.

Now you said the "There are no Horde workers that are able to generate text with your request. Please change the parameters or try again later." error is from the backend? Do you mean its a problem with silly? Cause its been over a week since I tried it last and its still saying that. I feel like I've ultra broke it.

I'd be glad to give you all the info you want, but you got to know something; I'm an idoit, so most of those words you said above I don't understand. Like what I'm running; do you mean the ver number of silly? Its ver 1.12.7, I think. On a sidenote, powershell says npm has a new update, ver 11, and to install it by running npm install -g npm@11.0.0, but I don't understand how to do that either.

As for the character card, I only tried the one, the Rebecca one, but I'm not dead set on it, so we can forget it and go back to Seraphina, the basekit character. I can't get her to work either, so getting her to work is kinda where I'd like to start, then I'll try branching out. And when and if that the time comes, you can just tell me where to get char cards and I'll listen to you. And as for prompt tem; I'd love to tell you, but I don't know what that means or where it can be found. It should be noted that I'm extremely new to sillytavern. Until now, I've only used websites like JanitorAI or whatever.

At this point, I just want Sera to say hi to me, so whatever info I can give you I'd be more than willing to do so. I could even upload screenshots here of whatever you need, just tell me what to screenshot.

Ok so the horde worker issue is something to do with your connection to whatever server is hosting the model for you. When you run silly tavern you will have a terminal aka console with output. I need you trigger the error then go into that terminal and click then control + A inside then control + c then control + v into a txt file and then share that file here.

Okay, I hope I did this right.
No, it looks like you copied everything I dont need while omitting everything I do. I need ALL of the technical output youre getting. The stuff that looks like nonsense most likely. You probably have multiple terminals running, just control a control c all of them if you want.

I see no error in your output otherwise. Something that may help is if you can go over the steps to reproduce the error maybe?
