Would you play this? Game Concept

Hello! I've been a computer geek for a while as well as being on F95 for quite a bit as well. I have started writing a story for a visual novel game (little to no actual game development done) and i'm also very new to coding so don't expect a prototype to be done any time soon. It is currently named Kyuketsuki World. Before I start throwing most if not all of my free time into this i'm interested in seeing if this game concept (VN) would be interesting enough for the community to play.
About: Earth is finally starting to see peace under the United Earth Federation. Thanks to this peace the supernatural world finally decided to show itself in full force. You’d expect humans to be fully against them but instead the opinions of supernaturals are split 50/50. After some conflicts over the course of almost 2 years, that is known as The Dark War, the Supernatural Naturalization Act is signed which gives both humans and supernaturals equal rights. You play as [Your chosen name] a college student whose father was killed by supernaturals and now his life is flipped upside down because his house has burned down and he and his stepmom now have to move in with this Vampire family that happens to unlock the world around him.

Honestly, it's all in the execution. For example, the synopsis for Toy Story is:

"Woody, a good-hearted cowboy doll who belongs to a young boy named Andy, sees his position as Andy's favorite toy jeopardized when his parents buy him a Buzz Lightyear action figure. Even worse, the arrogant Buzz thinks he's a real spaceman on a mission to return to his home planet. When Andy's family moves to a new house, Woody and Buzz must escape the clutches of maladjusted neighbor Sid Phillips and reunite with their boy."

Which honestly, if that was pitched to me, I wouldn't have green lighted it because it sounds kinda dumb. But the execution is so amazing that the seemingly ridiculous premise works. Same goes for your story idea, if you can execute it well, even stupid ideas can look good. That's not to say that yours is a dumb idea though, just very uninspiring atm.

Yeah I completely understand. I'll have to see how I can write the about to sound more interesting without giving away the story too much. I appreciate the feedback and will always welcome it. Both positive and negative.

Too edgy and "anime" for me to be honest.
The theme is too common to pique the interest. Every season something similar pop up in the anime world for shounens, as well as games, manga. Something something evil, something dark, something fight fight, something monster girls and edgy boy as the main character.
But it'll find it's the audience. You do you, just enjoy the process. I guess it's popular if stuff like this being made over and over again. So, don't worry

I'm with Mimir here. It doesn't sound interesting to me from the description. If the story is written well and the graphics are good-great this could be interesting for sure, but right now it sounds quite dime-a-dozen to me. But if you are combining the right ingredients in the right way, I could be turned into a believer. If it involves any blood drinking, uri/scat or it's 2D, I'm out no matter how good the story/graphics turn out.

well that's not a bad idea! I mean, it'll be a huge project like, at 1st chapter, it's about shinto folklore(and a bit of banging the priestesses and sexy yokais), then comes the hindu at the next update(and become a disciple of the kamasutra master to woo the 8-armed handjob goddess and ntr the snake-hugger), then the nords(and get mauled and abused by tall norse norns, dises, and valkyries), etc... 1 set of folk lore per update! different ladies of different races...

though, let's not expect much...

Make sure there is a patch to remove the step out of stepmom. Maybe instead make it so your father was a diplomat between humans and the supernaturals and one of his main responsibilities was to father a son (you) by one of the supernatural women (your mom/stepmom for patreon purposes). Then he is killed by some anti supernatural group and you have to take up the role of your father and be the diplomat. The twist is that you are expected to go even farther then your father and knock up one of each of the different types of supernatural women to bring the races closer together. There you go you get incest, monster girls, fantasy chicks, impregnation, and harem content all woven in to the premise.

I picture the Twilight sparkly vegan vampires and yeah, that's even worse. If you go for vampires, have them be powerful fuckers that can rip out throats and drain someone for the fun of it. I just don't think that character should be involved in any sex scenes. I can see it be a decent antagonist though. When it comes to porn I'm kind of old-fashioned I suppose, or just not kinky. Sucking on nips or genitals, fine, sucking on blood is just not super enticing imo, not as part of a scene. I should have phrased that better. I'm fine with a wild story, as long as the scenes are somewhat normal. I try to put myself in MC shoes, and if I got fangs in my junk or my neck, just a turn-off.

Not a terrible idea for a story/game. Nothing is set in stone so i'm still looking for different opinions and ideas. I'm still trying to determine if i want to choose 1 romance possibility or harem.

I'm still looking into improving the description/about or even looking into changing the story a bit more than i have originally though about. With your Blood drinking, uri, 2d i'm definitely not doing a 2d and there will be blood sucking but not sexualized or fetish on and definitely 100% no uri/scat or even NTR with any romanceable character.

In the prologue story you hear about a Supernatural Faction that makes up close to 50% of supernaturals that are against being peaceful which isn't necessarily going to be the main plot but a reoccurring one but while at the same time there's also anti supernatural human factions. Those that are wanting peace that normally feed on humans or ones who are believed to would look for alternative methods such as animal blood, donated blood, or hired/debt servitude.

I don't know too much about those folklore too terribly much but I definitely don't mind looking into it and if i find myself more interested/invested in it i don't mind trying it out instead or as a secondary project. If you have links to those Folk Lores or others feel free to PM me even if its just one of your favorites.

When it comes to Anime there's very little Western Folklore type anime other than Seraph of the End (which is amazing if you haven't seen it) but a bunch of "supernatural" Style anime that follows more Japanese supernatural than Western. And the theme being too common i'm not sure because other than very few Vampire (well at least well known/good ones) I haven't ran into too many. I do agree there are a bunch of Monster Girl ones where most aren't that good. I also plan the MC to be somewhat mature like Reborn style MC none of this Beta Male Lonely Always Horny MC.

There will be some bloodsucking on screen but as mentioned earlier its 100% not going to be sexualized or as a fetish.

I was originally thinking that. I just hope my writing skills will be able to make it work but I guess it shouldn't be too different from let's say 5 romance options to having them be a harem. I know there are some VNs I've played where it felt like Harem was thrown in there just to have Harem and the only real somewhat meaningful (as meaningful as an erotic game can get) relationship development was between the MC and 1 maybe 2 girls.
Luckily I have a buddy who'll be reading it and make sure the story and paths are at least acceptable.

Why does the MC need to move in with the Vampire Family? Is his mother getting remarried? Seems forced and cliche.

From what you've said so far it depends on how hot the mom is and how much is focused on her. Hopefully the vampires/supernatural creatures are not too weird to detract from the story.

I wouldn't be interested, but then I am not a fan of Vampires (in any genre), plus the plotline is similar to others out there. I mean, I'd rather you took the fresh prince and made a lewd version of that instead. LOL
