VN - Ren'Py - WVM [S2 Ch. 1 Ep. 13 B4] [Braindrop]

This game is actually incredible, from the girls to the story/plot, everything just keeps drawing me in and i couldn't stop playing it. The only downsides to this game are no incest as well as that certain variables like "daddy" kinks cant be changed from within the menu if you only wanted it to be for one scene and realized that you preferred it the other way, i feel that a menu that would allow you to change the variables on relationships with girls could also be useful to be able to see certain dialogues or scenes without having to replay the whole game again. However, these two are really only preferences and does not take away from how good this game is.

I'm giving this a poor rating vs terrible as you will get many hours of good gameplay out of it. What follows however is a convoluted nightmare of nonsense that makes it boring and aggravating to continue giving a fuck about the MC or any of his paramour's. From IDK the eighth time or so the MC changes houses I just couldn't seem to want to look at Ducklip's BigAss or TokenGender Swapboy again.

Insignificant choices, unrealistic MC, and pandering to pateron have this game crapping out after around day two. Do yourself a favor and play the first two ingame days and consider it and what follows as two separate offerings from the developer.

I`m not usually into harem type games and tend to go for ones with female main chars (though not many around), so I wasn`t sure about this one and the basketball theme put me off, but I love college theme games and decided to give it a try. I `m glad I did!

This game was really addictive.
The MC, our boy, is like a really nice guy who is a superstar arrived at an average college. Our guy meets lots of nice girls with their own personalities and helps them cause he`s just that kind of guy and cause he likes adding hot girls to his harem hihi.

The story is fun and kinda sucks you in, wanting more and rooting for our boy plus the girls are hot and my favorite is Shauna...she has such a great personality and great taste in hair dye hihi. Bailey is cute too...and Willow when we see her other side. The baddies are real assholes and Ryker would sooo get my stiletto heel in his testicles!

I enjoyed this game so much and really look forward to the plot updates and drama....Cedey and Brubru made something land in my eyes and water..uhm yeah.

The dev really seems to care about his game and his fans, he should feel proud of his work. Well done Mr Braindrop!

I know that my opinion isn't the popular one, but I'm going to say it anyway.

This game is boring.

It's another typical harem game, but there's not even any worthwhile story. It's just the MC banging his way through nearly every single girl he encounters while doing the most mundane things. Every girl you meets acts almost exactly the same, and nothing interesting outside of the sex scenes ever happens, or if it does, it leads to nothing except more unresolved plot. Not to mention the dialogue is dull and repetitive. I feel like the same conversations are being repeated over and over. Dark Magic, for all its narrative nonsense, has a better story than this game.

Also, there is far too much emphasis placed on certain characters that don't really matter to the plot, to the point where I have to wonder why they are there to begin with.

For example, the MC's adoptive mother. The way things seem to be going - especially given some of the dialogue with Rachael - leads you to believe that there is going to be a sexual relationship developing. But no. It never happens, and according to the dev, who is a stickler for Patreon rules for some reason, it'll never happen.

I can't help but feel like this was a giant waste of time, and because this is a visual novel with no real choice as to whom the MC interacts with, you can't skip over it. I've come to the conclusion that the build-up was supposed to be leading to a sexual relationship, but because the dev apparently isn't creative enough to make an, "incest," patch for the game that locks off the non-Patreon friendly content (as though Patreon is suddenly a gatekeeper of morality), all those scenes just go nowhere. Obviously the original plan was to include incest. Why else would she be so prominently featured? If there isn't going to be any incest, why include a sexy stepmom character dressed in sexy clothes and put her front and center in the game?

Simply put, the dev should have figured out what the rules were and made a decision on how the game was going to be structured and what characters would play what roles before he started working on it. At this point, the whole plot-line of the MC trying to figure out how his birth mother being alive affects his relationship with his stepmother shouldn't even be in this game. You could cut all of that out, and it wouldn't affect the overall plot in the slightest, except to make it quite a bit shorter. And this isn't the only place where the game could afford to cut some narrative fat. There are quite a few other characters that are seemingly just a tease, and haven't, or possibly aren't going to lead to anything, despite significant interactions.

I'm also not a fan of the plot twist at the end of day seven. It seems very out of step with everything that has been happening so far. Why would a bunch of thugs go after a college basketball star to find out where the college president is? It seems to me there would be a dozen better people to go to for that information before you'd start interrogating college athletes.

I think the dev should have focused on either the college corruption plot, or the MC's birth mother plot, instead of both. The MC doesn't seem like the sort to be involved in the former, considering he seems to have an IQ no greater than his shoe size, but focusing on that would have kept players from wasting time building up relationships that lead nowhere, though as I wrote above, there is a significant amount of that regardless. I found myself rapid-fire clicking my way through the dialogue at some points because I just didn't care anymore about the nth girl the MC has met and charmed in the space of two minutes while more unnecessary backstories and pointless drama are piled on. It all feels very unfocused.

That's a real shame, because this game has fantastic renders (duckface aside), and the animations are ok, but nothing amazing. The only complaint I have in that regard is Jamie's (MC's girlfriend) hair is constantly in the way of her magnificent breasts. However, having played through to the end of day seven, I feel like I've seen all this game has to offer. It's not going to get any better than this, and the story isn't enough to hold my interest.

The lesson here is that sometimes less is more.

This game is so good. I love it. BD has done a really good job with the story and the characters.
Great renders, there has to be a girl to suit every taste. This is the game that I check the most for updates and keep coming back to. One of a few that has had me in tears from the story and writing.

It can be a little slow in spots, but that really only gives you time to process everything and get your emotions under control.

This game... Wow!

I am not a huge fan of harem games or college games and the combination is usually something I don't play, that said if I could only play one game on this site it would be WVM.

Braindrop (BD) has created a wonderful story of a small town boy who goes to a college with a losing basketball team and begins to transform the lives of everyone he meets. Yes, there is a lot of sex but that isn't the reason I play this game (okay, not the only reason), the dialogue and relationships feel more realistic than a lot of games I've played. The renders are top notch, the women are cute, sexy, beautiful and I look forward to every update.

If I was to cite any concerns the main one is that I am worried about the number of women that are in the game already and the number that may continue to be added. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. I want the MC to spend more time with the women already in his life and not continue to split his time with more and more and more women. I was going to qualify this with something about how I am worried about the story but I will just end with: I trust BD.

Sigh.* Let's get into this review because this is a tough one to rate.

Story:

• It is SO, so so refreshing to have unique concepts in VN porn games. It seems like almost every VN has the same concept of a perverted virgin somehow bagging every girl he meets despite having no game. Here is not the case. The concept of the story is that the MC is the best shooting guard in the country, and instead of going to a big name school, he goes to a no-name school called WVM with a female basketball coach and gets hella benefits. I am a little bias for liking this concept because it reminds me of one of my favorite anime called Kuroko no Basket where the 2 really good players go to a no-name school with a female coach.
• Before I go any further with how I feel with the story, let me preface that the first 2 "days" of this game really impressed me with storytelling, world-building, and characterization. I found myself not skipping any dialogue because I was genuinely interested in not only the basketball plot, but the corruption of WVM, the shadiness of Ryker, and MC's past. Sadly after these first 2 in-game days, the game just does not hit the same and moves too damn slow with so much unnecessary dialogue and the visual novel equivalent to "filler" (uninteresting side-plots that do not progress the story).
• I was most excited to see the team building and progression of the WVM basketball team/how they would build their chemistry and possibly take home a championship but sadly that stuff is side-lined and the dev cares more about the MC pulling a Sakuta and helping every girl he knows with their mental problems. 7 days in and the team has not even played their first game yet. The story just drags for most of the game and feels like it goes nowhere.
• I was also hoping for Damien to become one of those "bro" characters like Derek in Being a Dik or Steven in No More Secrets because Damien was really impressing me with how cool his character was on the first 2 days. Sadly the dev sidelines him and actually makes him an asshole. The other guy on the team who has a wife and kids may take his place as the "bro" character hopefully.
• I usually like it when shit hits the fan in these "realistic" porn games, but the Ryker jumping scene just has no good build-up and is unsatisfactory.
• Bottem-line, the story just gets less and less interesting as the game goes on, focusing less on basketball, and focusing more and helping out random-ass girls with their psychological issues.

Characters:

• Here's my biggest problem with this game: MC is TOO DAMN PERFECT. He is literally Jesus reincarnated with no flaws and every person he meets treats him like a god. I get he's a basketball superstar, and the reactions given to him on the first 2 days are tolerable, but after the third day of people praising you like a god, it actually becomes insufferable and corny. Even with the girls that you're in an actual relationship, the perfectness in which both parties treat each other is too perfect, that it feels icky and tacky. Like you cheat on your girl but it's ok because she's actually a cuck and likes that stuff. Wtf?? The lack of effort that it takes to win over these girls is really lame, especially with the fact that there are not really a lot of choices to make with this game.
• Ignoring the fact that the girls treat you like a God, the girls themselves are decently interesting but not all of them are interesting enough where I will hesitate to skip dialogue. This game is dialogue heavy with a bunch of boring, not going anywhere, conversations. Most of these conversations are about what a perfect human being MC is.
• LOVE the trans girl representation and the dialogue surrounding Shauna's insecurities around it.
• Like I mentioned earlier, would have loved to see the team more fleshed out, but at this point, it just seems like basketball is just a secondary story element to the dev.

Writing:

• So ignoring the bad pacing, treating MC like a god, and the lack of direction this game has, I actually REALLY like the writing in this game.
• It's fluent, with no mechanical errors that I can remember, and it actually feels grounded in reality (for the most part). Characters actually act realistically and say real things and not just stuff characters in a porn game would say.
• Slang, colloquial, and conversational dialogue are all great
• This game reminds me of Being a Dik in that even though characters are overly-sexual (because it's a porn game), everything else about them feels legit and genuine. Good job on Devs part with making this game actually feel like there are real people talking to each other rather than porn caricatures.
• I am assuming the Dev is American and it always helps the writing to not have a foreign writer.

Renders/H scenes:

• Girls are hot, hardly any are ugly.
• Animations are good
• Not a fan of teasing the mom as a romanceable character even though she is not.
• Sex mostly feels in place and natural- always a plus.

Overall: 3.5/5. I feel the game is worth most people's time. Even if you don't like the story, the girls are lovely and the animations are good.

I realize in a review you should touch on more than just the story (renders, animations, etc). But I just can't get past how badly the story took a left turn in the last update.
I will also point out that the choices you have in the game are mostly insignificant. But I can get past the game being pretty linear. There are plenty of games that I love, where you don't have many choices - if the story is good, the models are hot, etc.
This game really lost me in the last update.

So far its an amazing story. Renders are nice, characters are unique and the beginning was good. Looks like the MC will have a lot of fun in the future updates. I really can't come up with any negative things to say. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing this one through to the end.

Man, this is not a game but a visual novel, and a boring one at that. I played all the way through day 5 (reading every line), and I must say that the story was normal (not good nor bad), but the visuals were good enough to make me put up with with; however, it got pretty boring after that, with little to no interaction, feeling like I was getting dragged rather than having a choice in how events played out. The fact that relationships are mostly imposed on you, is also a huge turn off, like you can't decide who to pursue (aside from one casual fuck somewhere in between, and only with some characters).

I'm clearly disappointed, and if you like having interaction in a game, like myself, I would recommend you to not partake into this "game".

TLDR:
It's really good

To me, WVM is probably the best example of a harem game at this time. The MC, while keeping in the tradition of porn games, has a MASSIVE MAGNUM DONG. That said, he still has a personality and isn't some pervy weirdo. The MC of this game gets girls to fall in love with him by being a good person and helping them with their personal and emotional issues. With that in mind, you're not going to be needing to worry that this game is just constant build up with no payoff. MC and the girls get physical, and often.

Give this one a try if you haven't already.

The animations and the different angles are amazing and very fluid some of the best renpy can offer. The reason I have to give this a 3 is that almost every girl in game has a super duck face all the time. Don't get me wrong a little duck face can be sexy but almost every girl having resting duck face is a bit of drag. The only other flaw I have is in the story and the willingness of every girl the mc encounters wants to be his side chick immediately like walking into a room and everyone just bows down as soon as you step into the room. I've never been a basketball superstar but I can't imagine that's what it's really like.

Ok, so on one hand there are a lot of different looking characters in this game, but most of them feel a kind of the same in regards to mc, who is pretty much god, can do no wrong, always knows what to do and what to say. Also I feel like there is a lot of focus on characters that are off-limits (family, teachers), I mean wouldn't it be better to focus on important (i.e. fuckable) characters?

WVM has a lot of heart -- and there are many positives. Earlier in its development, the game seemed fresh and brimming with potential, but it has lost its way more recently as the character set expanded and the story got diluted. It's good but not one of the top games in the genre.

The Good

• Huge diversity of girls with different personalities, body types and overall looks
• Main characters (including MC) are nice and easy to root for
• Well-done renders and environments -- some I haven't seen in any games before
• The sports emphasis makes the basic premise ("guy goes off to college") feel differentiated and more enjoyable
• Prior to the recent delay, updates were provided quickly and regularly
• OK animations

The Not-So-Good

• The story has made less and less sense over time. The MC is being dragged into diluted conversation after diluted conversation with an increasingly large cast of characters that is hard to keep track of
• The story began (generally) grounded in realism but has devolved into messy threads that are mostly implausible
• The story re-uses the same angles, framing and character expressions over and over -- although there are no "grind" elements, the conversations feel like a grind
• The girls are all good looking but few are ... sexy. There is little seduction or intrigue -- the H-scenes are almost rote in how predictably they play out.

Will continue to follow this game but hoping, with the developer recently re-engaging, there is a chance to reflect and correct some of the recent mis-steps.

Don't want to be that guy but I have to put my foot down at some point. To be fair, sure I can see why some people feel this is a "good" game but for me it really isn't. The game part of the this VN is not really there, you don't really have any choice at all. It's just do you want to fuck this girl or not. I feel I need to be honest, I haven't played the few latest updates but I am really skeptic that anything has changed since I tried this out. Renders are good and the girls do look nice but there is no depth or anything interesting to the characters in my opinion. If you are looking for a fapfest that is just clicking "I want to fuck this girl" then it might be your thing but for someone that like a good story this is probably not your cup of tea. These are my personal thoughts about the game and might not reflect what you think of it so keep that in mind.

Aight,I think its time I give this game a review.I follow this game since 2019 and I will be honest I'm really a fan of this game when its still in early development.But sadly,it become worse in each update.

Pro:
-Girls are cute ngl.They have their own beauty.Dev really know how to create a cute characters.
-A fresh theme.This is one of the game that have their own theme,a basketball.Which is pretty fresh and interesting

Now,

Cons:

-MC is pretty much a perfect men on earth because every single girls in game throwing themselves at him without any development or their own story in 1 week.I find it honestly boring and total bullshit.Even the main character in Renryuu and Sisterly Lust have their own adventure to raise the affection with the girls.They aren't instantly become a worshipper to mc all of the sudden.Its like I watching a cringey low budget drama in tv.I know MC is handsome,but there is no way they suddenly worshipping him that fast.
-Expression and dialogue.I hate what dev did to them.At first I really like their expression and dialogue in day 1 or 2.It does look balanced at first.But suddenly,it become worse and retarded.The Girls suddenly have a weird face especially the lips.They make a Duck face all the time that makes me cringey when I see it.I hope I can punch them multiple time.Their dialogue also really really cringey.They keep compliment all the times,kiss,hugs,girls suddenly pop up,hug,kiss repeat.That at one point,I keep thinking if Dev ever have a gf before,Because im 100% sure that any couple arent like this.Its like Dev is in his world full of vanilla and romance that he got from low budget drama.The girl in the early days really look normal.They have a normal face and didnt make any duck face or whatever.Now they become retarded and always worshipping mc whenever they met.
-Rushed story.
-Girls dont have any personality or purpose.Other than worshipping and fucking mc.They dont have any role.Let alone character development.

Honestly this game also like OneManAV,they have similarities ngl.I keep skipping text because im bored wirh it.Girls keep repeating the same sentences and making a cringey face. Decided to finally review this game. I began playing this way back in 2019, before it blew up in popularity, so I think I have a fairly decent grasp on the strengths and flaws of this game.

Good points...

- The renders are pretty solid. Nothing fancy, as most of them are just simple POV renders, but they're nice. The models are good, although some of the facial expressions are a bit weird.
- Related to the previous, it has a good diversity of body types. Skinny girls, super busty girls, black girls, an asian girl etc. Even has two trans girls.
- The pregnancy mechanic is interesting. Never saw a game in which the MC is literally a sperm donor.
- The story (about MC's long lost family) is fairly interesting I think.
- I personally like basketball, so it's nice to have a sport themed (sort of) game.

Now, the not so good.

- MC is basically Jesus. He is perfect in every way, all the girls love him unconditionally. It's borderline cult-like.
- Related to that, because all the girls adore MC so much, a lot of the dialog is repetitive "Baby, I love you" and variations of that. The girls are all fairly similar personality wise, and since there are so many of them, most of them do not have much depth. It doesn't have much buildup, sort of repetitive with the interactions.
- Related to both of the previous points, this game is really weird when it comes to conflicts. There are some conflicts, but since MC is basically Jesus, they get resolved really quickly and unnaturally. Usually, the girls just accept whatever MC says as gospel, whether that is him having sex with everyone in town, or something more personal about themselves.

TLDR: This is a harem game in which MC is perfect and can do no wrong. It has some nice aesthetics, but when you look under the hood, it's not that great. Above average, I'd give it 3.5, but since you can't give .5 stars, I'll give it 3.

Very good game, the story is very nice pass but sometimes makes me feel awkward because of the main caracter who looks like perfect man nice guy or mister steal you’re girl, but the developer of the Mc and the story himself makes you want for more. Very addictive and you always get the curiosity to see the others paths and makes others choices more fun. Keep the good work the game is very nice.

Huge harem, you are an almighty god, animations and models of the characters are very well made.

Bad.
Story without originality, our character is untouchable... it's God, all the characters have a reaction and consciousness of goldfish when they are close to us, hardly any of our choices have a bad impact.

To summarize.
WVM has good models but it is certainly the most overestimated game you can find, the writing is of an enormous banality, you just have to be a basketball star put twenty girls all to fuck and voila! Well done everyone! 2/5.
