VN - Ren'Py - WVM [S2 Ch. 1 Ep. 13 B4] [Braindrop]

One of the most overrated if not the top overrated VN in F95. This game is basically a Beta man wet dream of what an Alpha man is like. Absolute trite writing. There is no tension, conflict, theme or build up of any kind. The MC has demigod powers that put Yahweh, Christ and Allah to shame being able to attract all girls everywhere whom all flock to him the moment they smell a whiff of him, like dogs to their master.

The girls in this VN have no life, desires or ambitious of their own and all their dreams revolve around pleasing the MC, all of them accept being toys on the side and are more than willing to go out of their way to procure more women the MC can play with and all of them are very fine with that. This is basically what a fucking neckbeard basement dweller thinks about how women behave.

There is no conflict or theme, the MC is able to attract women just because of his sheer existence. A game for the lowest common denominator. Even the sex renders themselves are not good, as they lack passion and feel robotic and awkward. All the girls introduced start to overlap and you will forget who is who, as they all exist for the MC to fuck. Really a beta man power fantasy ( and not even a good power fantasy as the MC is plagued with the typical "Nice guy" M'lady syndrome that plagues this sort of Harem games).

    Updated Review [S2 Ch. 1 Ep. 13 B3]

Even if no one is going to scroll down and down the reviews page for this old-ass review, I couldn't let my old one stand unironically. For the sake of integrity and I guess nostalgia for a better time, I've included my old review in the spoiler down below. It was the first review I ever wrote and man, those were the days...

I don't have a lot whole lot to add that hasn't been said in abundance both in the reviews and in the endless discussion page. This game is a mess. I'll try and not let the dev's spotty update record influence my view too much but even when you disregard that, there's just so much here that doesn't work.

The structure of the story is all over the place and the story itself is often non-sensical. It's marred by over-the-top melodrama and the dev having a lot of changes of heart of where he wants to take it.

The dialogue is extremely long-winded and repetitive and tries way too hard to be overly cutesy to the point that you really can't take it seriously anymore.

The over-expanding harem of girls seems to get too hard to keep track of even for the dev with girls being assigned colors instead of names at one point. This also makes the suspension of disbelief very hard even in a genre where people are already willing to accept a lot of bending of reality.

Because this has been in development so long, the game changes notably in style throughout. All in all, the changes to the render quality of model design have been good ones, in my opinion, even if some people are still nostalgic for the earlier designs; objectively, their quality has definitely improved.

The sex scenes are mostly pretty good if you ignore the instances where the dev had no choice but to insert the face/head of the MC in the shot and because they don't want to reveal that face for some reason (probably in a misguided attempt to let the player more closely associate themselves with the MC), you get black boxes over his face which can be very distracting and almost comical.

This is all I have to say on the merits of the game. As much as there is to criticize, the improved render quality and sex scenes still make it a game that I look forward to playing the updates, even if it is only for a quick fap (because I'm certainly not here for the story).

As to the merits of the dev and the game's future... well, maybe the less said about that the better. I would refer anyone to the game's discussion page for more on that.

Am really enjoying it, wish there it was possible to get more per update but I can only imagine how hard it is to make a game, thank you for all you do and I hope you will continue this product until completion.

Once this was not a too bad AVN, a bit generic but the renders and the weekly updates made up for it. The story was ok but as it went along it got crazier.

Now things are worse, the developer consistently lies about when he's going to update the game and the story becomes weird. If WVM is a run down college why are all these rich people appearing?

The developer has re-worked the game adding in characters that the mc suddenly knows and who all look the same. Some character are just called a colour. It's a shame what it has become and I recommend not playing it.

    Whew.
This gonna be a long and confusing review, wherein I rate this game a deserved 5/5, gush over its many virtues and then explain why I won't ever play it (or any future releases/complete versions) again.
Haha, yeah it's a bit of mess.

So I have two purposes for this review. The first is just to add to the chorus of voices extolling the virtues of this game, so if you're in need of more of that when making up whether to give this game a try, then read the first bit.
The second is hopefully provide a favour in advance for anyone who happens to be like me and is trying to decide if this game is worth a try. By "someone like me" I mean the kind of person who likes to play these kinds of games because you like connecting with characters, sharing their experiences as they go through the story, but tend to find the bad shit that happens more emotionally draining than the good shit is rewarding, and/or you tend to get overly, irrationally* anxious or worried about what bad shit might happen to the characters you like. So if you're that kind of person and want to know what someone who might be kinda like you thinks of this game, then you might want to read the second part (or both, haha!) :)

*irrational here meaning you feel this way even though you don't want to, and know you shouldn't - e.g. if you're watching a G-rated show and one of the characters has a kinda creepy seeming uncle, you might think it's irrational to worry that there's going to be any explicit or implicit indication that the uncle rapes their niece/nephew; it feels irrational *not* because you're feeling emotional about what might happen to a person who doesn't actually exist, but because you're worried about something happening despite knowing that what you're worried about falls entirely outside the genre conventions of the show you're watching)

    So, first part:
    1)
As is maybe obvious from the 5 star rating, I am a pretty big fan of this game. My signature won't show on this comment, but just know that it contains a gif of Bailey, who is one of the girls in this game (and is my subjective best girl despite knowing that the GF is, objectively, the best girl in the game). One of the first things you might pick up from reading comments here and there is that there are a *lot* of people in this game. Including those that you can bump uglies with and those who are just part of the plot. I saw a lot of comments complaining about keeping all the names straight, but honestly I never really had the problem despite only playing the game twice. I don't know, I think it's honestly a part of the games charm that I can remember the names of all the characters I liked despite playing this a few weeks ago now. Bailey the best girl, Zoe and her charming slutty charms, Shauna and her game nerdiness, Rachel's hard-ass hotness, Natalie and her girl next door charms, the cuteness that is Rainn without her makeup, Kimmy's hard knock life, Willow the bitch with a maybe heart of gold, Megan and her closeted BF Damien, the surprisingly ballsy Emiko, Harp the cool coach, Sophie the weirdo who doesn't seem to sleep at night, and so on and on.
So many of the characters in this game are both great and well characterised despite their short screen time. And even more impressively, they're characterised as characters with more than one dimension (yes I know there's an irony in saying that right after pairing a whole bunch of names with a single trait; that was just me exercising my memory of the characters, the game doesn't represent the characters as being just those traits I mentioned :)

For the more lewd among us there's also plenty of sex, and the sex is all well animated and pretty damn hot. The story is also a breath of fresh air. I know it can easily come across as the pinnacle of wish fulfillment; you play as a guy who's great at basketball but also really down to earth and charming and handsome and helpful and kind and so on. But at least for me it was great to play an MC who is both not a bit of a sleazeball and who fits with my natural impulse to play these kinds of games in a way where I'm trying to make everyone happy. And it does have a kind of realism in that the MC comes across as someone who believably wants to be helpful and supportive, he just so happens to also have the resources available to provide more help than most people could.

So yeah; great art, lovely character designs, a fairly compelling story with the usual highs and lows that people tend to like, a likeable and (to me at least) relatable MC who's both not a pushover and not a sleazeball.
A pretty great game all round and a definite 5/5 in my book.

...and now the second part, and why I likely won't ever play this game I really like again :(:
    2)
Ok trying to keep this short and relatively spoiler free. The main antagonist and provider of drammatic tension in this game is this fucking asshole named Ryker. No spoilers that he's an asshole and the antagonist of your character because by the time you find out who Ryker is he's in the process of being exactly the asshole I describe.

Now one of the ways the game provides the conflict and tension most people feel are necessary in their stories is by having Ryker try and threaten you and the people you care about unless you follow along with his plans (I say most people cause I don't feel it's necessary, but I'm also obviously in the very small minority and I don't expect people to write stories to cater to my tastes). And as is probably obvious from the preamble I wrote regarding who this section might be useful for, I have a bit of a hard time keeping my knowledge of what's likely to happen in a story separate from what I irrationally worry might happen. I'm pretty sure the dev has mentioned somewhere in this thread that they won't be including a lot of the negative stuff that I steer very clear of in games like this. NTR and the like. But even though I understand that this Ryker dude isn't likely to actually physically harm or rape or whatever any of the characters...I can't help the anxious worry that I get when playing the game after it became clear that the dramatic stakes were going to come, at least in part, from Ryker and his threats.
And I mean, this is a kinda hard thing to unpack. When I play these kinds of games I both am and am not the protagonist. It's made clear that the protagonist isn't a 1-to-1 stand-in for the player given you can't pick how he responds moment-to-moment. He's essentially a person with a variety of possible paths through his life, and you pick which ones you want to see. Or which one you want to be "canon" in your mind. But even understanding that, I can't help but translate myself directly into his context, and his context directly onto me. So when Ryker's threatening these people both MC and myself have an attachment to, even though I know that the conventions of the story that the author seems to want to tell mean that nothing is likely to happen that will really threaten the fantasy of protecting everyone you love from any real risk or hardship, that's not exactly a "protection" I can apply to myself. I am, when playing the game, vicariously threatened by a man who represents those people in the real world who threaten others by threatening harm to those they care about. And in my real world I don't have narrative guarantees to ensure that nothing bad will happen. So having to play the game in the shadow of Ryker's threats means I end up playing in the shadow of my own anxiety about real people in my real world who can and do harm, rape, kill etc. people's loved ones to force compliance with their demands, and often the people being threatened have no real recourse, because threats are rarely crimes and whatever "justice" follows a crime doesn't undo the damage that's been done, or bring back what's been lost. Which means I essentially can't play the game, because every happy moment feels hollow and "false" in the shadow of what could be taken away at any time. And the lack of any actual follow through on threats doesn't lessen my anxiety, it just makes the game feel more false to me. Like it's introduced something that would "obviously" end badly but has just decided not to allow things to follow their "natural" course out of contrivance.
And so the realistic nature of the story, the characters, and the threat, work against me; the connections I've made to the characters mean I'm too irrationally worried about what "would" happen to them, and how powerless I would be to help them, to play the game.
Which suuuuuucks. Cause in cause I haven't made it clear, I like most every other part of this damn game!

And obviously for most people this is a ridiculous degree of extrapolation and is probably to some degree unhealthy.
And as a depressed person who struggles not to fixate on everything negative, I would agree with you (to an extent :p ). It's why I didn't give this game a lower mark, or try and hold my hang-ups against the devs. These are obviously my problems and mine alone.
But I guess I also try and avoid assuming that I am the only person in the world who thinks and feels at least somewhat like I do. So I write this second part for anyone who comes after me who relates to stories the way I describe, so that they might have fair warning about what the game involves before they get into it, should they still want to give it a try. Cause all of my many compliments still apply; if you don't have my hang-ups it's totally a game you should play if it sounds at all up your alley. And even if you do it's probably worth trying just because it can be so much fun and maybe this Ryker asshole won't bother you as much as he bothered me.
But hopefully this ends up being useful to at least one other person trying to make their mind up on this game. I know I'd have appreciated knowing this kind of stuff before I started :)

Playing this just feels good so I just start with the few negatives why I gave only 4 (and a half, if I could) stars.

    - Excessive use of the word "Plus" to start a sentence. Gets annoying.
    - Weird or in some cases plain wrong punctuation.

+ Pretty much everything else. Leaves me with a happy feeling after playing :)

I don't know why this game has so many reviews and almost all are good. I mean, it's not bad but it's nothing extraordinary. The plot is non-existent, choices doesn't matter and you can have all the girls without even trying. Yeah the renders are decent but this game is just too simple imo.

Started this a few updates ago and I have really enjoyed it. Most characters are well drawn out and the interactions are good. The story is unfolding and I think when the fit hits the shan, the MC will come out on top.

Good start, but becomes super boring recently.

I dont have much to say, the main and suportting characters becomes extremely retarded as the story progresses, speaking of history, this shit is not going anywhere just keep walking around in circles, circles and circles with the same retarded characters showing how much they can be stupid, empty and devoid of any quality (The main character mainly) making stupid decisions after stupid decisions (All of them) to justify the terrible ""plot"" that was installed after the good start of the game.

Story is boring and all over the place. Renders are nice so that is a plus. I am not sure what exactly the dev is going for. This is the type of game with the most boring dialogue. I usually enjoy reading the dialogue but after 5 min in, I had to hold ctrl just to see the sex scenes. It seems the dev release short updates often, but I wonder if it adds up each month. Overall if you want to see nice render download but if you expect anything else don't bother.

I have to say after seeing how many reviews this game had and the general score, i was excited to try this game out. But holy fuck, the dialogue in this game is atrocious, like im reading the same fucking thing over and over.
"Babe i missed you so much babe."
"Wow babe i was gone for a minute."
"Yeah but i miss you so much, please bang every girl we meet to make them happy."
Every time the girlfriend talks its the same boring nonsensical vomit inducing drivel.

Some renders are pretty good to look at, but some poses by most of the girls just look offputing. And all this POV shit, goddamn it gets tiring after a while.

The story is "average" i liked the notion of the basketball thingy, but so far it's boooooring. Still maybe that will change in the future. All girls throw themselves at the MC because he is...a good guy? Perfect? Dick the size of a toddler? Who knows they just keep coming.

I like some of the characters, Zoe, the mom and Victoria i think her name was the teacher.
And there are some characters that i just dont care about.

Shauna the best friend, couldnt give a fuck if she was trans or not, dunno why this is even a choice given that the girlfriend is just shoved down your throat all the fucking time. Shaunas model is just creepy looks twisted in most renders.

Now the girlfriend, with her gigantic creepy cat jaguar eyes. Weird body proportions and where every scene she is in you have an upclose render of her huge eyes where you see some distant light shine. Every dialogue with her is boring and i just started fast skipping through it tbh, every "sexy" scene with her i just skip cus its the same boring crap without animations like usual.

And then the MC, the Gary Stu himself, even the inner dialogue with this guy sucks and it is the same stuff over and over. Everything is perfect for this guy and everything is handed to him, i get it its a porn game but i can play Minecraft and enjoy my time more than reading what this guy is thinking about. Nothing bad ever happens to him, well except the forced girlfriend.
And now my biggest problem with the MC, his giant horse cock. Tho it does get "smaller" after a few days but its still very revolting.

Eh maybe this will get better in the future, add some animations, get rid of the constant POV renders, cut the dialogues in half (atleast) and this might be a good harem game but for now, it is very, very basic.

The game has a great potential.

Graphics are gorgeous (my compliments to the dev), writing is good.

Yes, the story is idealistic but after all, this is meant to be a fantasy game and not a reality documentary.

Only cons I see are the fact the lack of animation and soundtrack.
Nothing sucks more then reading story lines in silence...

This game is really good. It has an engaging story and the girls are beautiful as well. The story is well paced but can be a lot to keep up with at time as there is always something new around the corner, does keep it interesting through what is available so far.

    Version Reviewed: 0.7.1

I was really excited for this game. I couldn't finish it though. It got to be too painful and unrealistic the more I played.

I did get to the point of almost finishing the first day of college which I believe is the bulk of the game.

    Good
    • Awesome graphics and visuals
    • Amazing highly detailed renders
    • Good looking characters overall (there were a few I didn't care for)
    • Good story
    • Good writing (but also bad, see Cons)

    Cons
    • Females all have large hips and big butts (voluptuous)
    • Sex scenes aren't animated
    • MCs dick is 12 to 14 inches with a huge girth (horse dick)
    • Virgins can take all 12 to 14 inches on their first try. The average vagina is only 4 inches long by the way. A dick his size would tear up any virgin and cause trauma / massive tearing and blood loss.
    • Writing is supposed to portrait life as a super star but it goes way too far and is over the top!
    • MC is a God like being who is perfectly sincere, likeable, comforting, selfless, and who literally has no character flaws whatsoever. God would have a hard time competing with this guy.
    • He is the perfect gentleman and everyone worships him like a God
    • Most characters sole purpose in the game is being with the MC. Their life would have no meaning or purpose without him.
    • Girls line up to fuck him by the dozens. He has more game and sex appeal than 90's Brad Pitt

This could have easily been a 5 star game if the above cons weren't an issue. The writing is just over the top unbelievable. You are basically playing a perfect God in the game and always say the perfect thing and everyone worships you to the point of obsession. The player can also do no wrong.

Most players don't like playing a douchebag, myself included. The author just takes it way too far and ends up making the game an impossible scenario.

It just gets worse as the game progresses. Your mother is OK with you sleeping around, mothers (not yours) encourage their daughters to sleep with you. Everyone is OK with you sleeping with virtually anyone, including their mother. It is just too much and too unbelievable. I can only recommend this game if you enjoy pure fantasy unrealistic visual novels.

Your girlfriend: "See that girl over there? She looks sad. I think you should go fuck her to cheer her up." (not an actual quote but close)

For me, the game started out being a 5 star game but towards the end I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. I was really hoping this game would make it to my favorites list. So much potential lost.

Really enjoyed this game. It's content took me around half a day to finish the build. The girls basically see you as the Second Coming of Christ and you can start a relationship with them with little effort for those who want an easy time.

The story is pretty wholesome, the MC is a good man who's kind and caring, rather than being another MC who wants revenge on those who wronged him. He's just a simple man trying to make his way through college to land a good contract to provide for those that he cares about.

The sex scenes are pretty good, and their quality improves over the course of the game. The renders themselves are amazing. I also like how basketball is the sport for the game, as it's one that I enjoy. Would I have not played the game if it was another sport? Of course not.

A personal preference of mine is a girl that's trimmed, but most of the girls in the game are shaved entirely. Not really a con, just a tidbit.

WVM receives weekly updates around every Thursday, with a full day getting completed within 5-6 weeks for those who want to wait for a more complete experience rather than being cut short in the middle of a scene.

Overall, I wholly recommend this game.

PS: To any players who may be annoyed or put off by the MC's monster horse dick in the first day or two, Braindrop changed the size to a more reasonable big dick within the third day. From 3 hands to 2/2.5 hands you could say.

This game in my opinion is not bad, I like how the characters look but the story is pretty average and as you play the game you realize how easy it is to bang the characters in this game, all the girls just want to smash first time they see you... like yeah, you're a good basketball player who might save the team but that can't be all the reason to get this much coochie. Overall, it was pretty enjoyable and I really liked the game but it wasn't really "Mind-blowingly" good. Its just a really simple game where you get to bang girls. 7/10

I was one of the first patrons of WVM, there was a lot of promise early on. I know that it bothers some that the MC is the ultimate Alpha that more or less can beat anyone to death with his horse size penis, I like that part though. I wan't to conquer every pretty girl without any competition, boring for some, but I like it.

There are some parts of the game that sort of ruins it for me though, one being getting Chasuna, Jamie and the foster mom forced down my throat. It's always risky not letting the player choose what girls he or she is into. If you can't stand the default girlfriend it sort of ruins the game for you. And the main three doesn't do it for me on any level, worst is probably how they act like the MC is Christ come again. Every dialogue with them gives me anxiety and a feeling of being suffocated, they are clingy and obsessive, which is a gigantic turn off.

Even though a lot of new characters has been introduced since "day 1" none of them have their own personality. There motivation for living and breathing seems to be to be near and to please the MC, which makes them one dimensional, and boring. And for every passing episode there seem to be next to no character development.

Storywise I was hoping for something like the 80-90's underdog movies, like the " The mighty ducks" , "Rocky" or "Cool runnings". I used to love that sort of movies. The team that no one believes in beats the odds and end up as champions. If more focus were spent on that part (I think that theme will be part of the story, somehow) I think there would be a lot more possibilities to add a bit of drama and to tell a more interesting story. So far it's been a combination of which pussy to fuck (unless it's Jamie or Chasuna, then you HAVE to fuck it...sigh) and becoming Rachels personal cum factory.

Parts that I like is the MC being the uncontested king of the puss puss, the renders are looking great and that the story plays out in a "sport context". I also like that the MC is a "nice guy", I can't stand playing games were the MC is douche. I would like the MC to be more balanced though, not every girl deserves a hug. Like the character Kimmy, that is a gigantic bitch to the MC when they first meet. Sure, she had her reasons, even though they felt kind of bullshit because they had nothing to do with the MC, really. Even after her explanation I wanted to give her a verbal bitchslap and tell her to fuck right off.

As mentioned before there are more or less no choices that will have any real consequences, aside from who to fuck and who not fuck. It makes me feel like passive observer rather than being the MC a lot of the time. The lack of choice(s) was apparent early on in the game, but one of the first patreon goals was to hire another programmer and that way give the player more options(1000 dollars, I think). That made me think that down the line I would be able to steer clear of the most of the characters I didn't like (like all the main ones lol). That has not happened however. I know next to nothing about game development, so I don't know how easy or hard that would have been to do, it sure would have been a appreciated though. The dev seems like a great guy though, with a impressive work ethic and I wish him all the best!

Most of characters looks awful, it's hard even to lool at them for once, and so i couldn't play this game for more than 30 minutes. But for this time i saw enough: dusgusting graphic with "dead" characters and terrible, boring story. Some games just should never have a release.

This game got really annoying really fast.

Story:4/5 The bare bones one without the walls (Yes wall"S") of text for each and every reply.

Renders:3/5 Where I was once willing to give 4 stars, the worshiping eyes every two second on every girl kept annoying me.

Sex Scenes:1/5 I believe every sex scene in every VN would be bland without the dialogue (even with animation:eek:) but SO MUCH dialogue.
And not even sex dialogue, constant F***ing moralizing:

"Babe did you fuck that girl"
"Yes babe are you ok with it"
"Of course babe I love you even more because you made her happy by doing it just like you make me happy do you want a bj"

And this is not even 1/3 of the conversation before the mc and his girlfriend even kiss.

Most of all I'm annoyed by myself because I've been following this game from the first day it got uploaded here, and I was happy when braindrop moralized the three-way relationship between mc and the two main girls  (because I thought it would lead to hot scenes and not a lot of exclusion because I liked both and I like harem stories, not so that every encounter with a girl becomes a clinical experience and walls of text explaining how it is moral by the girls that mc fucks no less)

To be clear I do like harem games and I'm not asking for a very deep and emotional reading experience from a porn game.
(YES we accept the MC is a god. YES we accept that he is and all round "awesome" guy that would make James Bond his little bitch) but will you please for the &#@# &* ^&*% please stop with the f***ing moralizing.
Saddest of all I still havent unwatched this game. :cry:o_O:poop:
