VN - Ren'Py - WVM [S2 Ch. 1 Ep. 13 B5] [Braindrop]

This is a great game. I like the setting of being a up and coming basketball prodigy. There are many girls to choose from. The story is fairly interesting and the animated scenes are great as well. Would highly recommend this game

Aside from the adult aspects of this VN (which are beautifully rendered) the story and characters are amazing, easily one of if not my favorite VN I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I played the entire 7 days available in one sitting, I just couldn't tear myself away. I've never bothered to write a review for a game on f95zone but I really did enjoy this game that much, the developer is insanely talented and I will be becoming a patron on patreon after I get back to work. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a neatly little gem of a game. You play a young college freshman that picked an university with a less than perfect basketball team. This is not one of those MC lives with mother and sisters games, partially because MC was adopted and partially because of the nicest part of the game.... the dames!
For starters you have the sweet Jaime , MC's girlfriend, a soup for the soul, then there's Shauna, MC's friend that has a crush on him... what will the player do ? Will you be loyal x create a poliamor relationship or maybe create the ultimate harem ? The paths are endless...
The art takes some time to get used ( especially the kissing images) but once you get used to it's non-pretentious nature you can't get enough... maybe there's too much sexy times a bit too soon but the dev manages to balance it by giving each character an unique personality and dynamic while still giving players an emotional story about being human. This game deserves all the attention and support possible.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs... The version this review is based on is Day 1-7 v0.7.6...

This VN/Game is one of the better ones I've played/read, even though it has some quirks which I'll mention below...

The visuals of the characters are decently done, although some faces are slightly odd looking as though their lips are in a constant state of pouting... Thankfully most of the characters faces have a tendency to look more natural... With the pouting lips theme only being present on a few of the characters, which kind of made them a bit more fake looking... Almost as though they used a little too much Botox on the center of their mouths... The backgrounds are also decent, as I only recognized a few... The animations are done well, looking very fluid... Tending to be moderate to short in length...

This is a highly point of view (POV) driven VN/Game, with much of the inter-character dialogue using zoomed in camera shots of the characters faces and/or upper torso's... I do feel that the POV shots when the protagonist was interacting with the female characters did instill a higher sense of connection with those characters, especially since the protagonist is very friendly and caring towards most other characters... The only time it felt out of place was during open mouth kissing... I really think that open mouth kissing shots would have looked far more natural using panned out shots of the two characters kissing, rather then zoomed in POV shots... Anytime I've ever seen POV open mouth kissing, regardless if it was in this VN/Game or others, it always seems to look unnatural and weird... Normal kissing tends to look alright... But as most kissing visuals in this VN/Game use POV, it can make the event feel a bit awkward looking when it's open mouth...

The script is very well done, as I only ran into spelling/grammar errors now and then... The plot revolves around a male protagonist who is drafted into a college basketball team... He brings along his stepmom, his girlfriend, and best friend... Being pretty much the star player, he of course gets a lot of attention... Thankfully his attitude and behavior is that of a very friendly and outgoing personality... Who is not only friendly with most of the characters, but also highly protective of his friends and female companions... Most of the story revolves around his interaction with various female characters while attending classes and basketball practice... But there are some moments of intrigue as well, mostly revolving around the school principle and a rival college student... Even though some of the instances of drama are slightly over the top, perhaps bordering far-fetched... Thankfully those events don't pop up all that often... Leaving most of the intrigue revolving around the protagonists, partially forgotten, past family life...

There are many choices presented with regards to women characters that pop into the story as it goes along... As the player/reader you get to decide which women you want to pursue, and which ones you want to keep at arms length... The primary characters are the girlfriend, female best friend, and the stepmom... But others do play strong roles depending on choices you make... The protagonist has a lot going on, almost to the point of making you, the reader, feel a bit overwhelmed... And the more female characters you pursue, the more busy life gets for the protagonist... Most of the time he seems to handle it well, but as the reader it can sometimes feel a bit daunting, trying to keep track of everything he has to deal with, in your head... Thankfully that feeling does not always present itself, but I just wanted to mention it...

I was on the fence about whether to give this one 4 stars or 5... Mostly because of the visual issues I mentioned, and one of the slightly over the top melodramatic events involving the somewhat evil male rival character... Which I felt was pushing the limits of believable... There are several moments through out this VN/Game where I did feel that, some aspects of the story, were a bit over the top... But I still enjoyed the majority of the story, and tried to have some suspension of disbelief... In the end I decided to give it 5 stars, but with the understanding that this VN/Game is not without some flaws...

Overall, I enjoyed my play through of this VN/Game... It is a decent balance of meaningful story telling, decent dialogue, and erotic events... You can feel the love between the protagonist and the various female characters he has relationships with... Through both the visuals and the text... The protagonist is a nice guy, and feels more genuine then most male protagonists in these sorts of VN/Games... He's young and is driven towards wanting sex now and then, but doesn't have perv like thoughts all the time... I wish the POV shots didn't include open mouth kissing, but most of the POV visuals did drive home that sense of meaningful connection with many of the characters... Will I revisit this one? Most definitely, as I did enjoy my play through...

This VN/Game is still under development, and the current content does end with a bit of a cliffhanger... I wish the developers the best of luck, and look forward, some time down the line, to seeing how this one progresses...

(v.0.7.6) - Not played to completion - Minor spoilers

You can tell that Braindrop, the dev, puts a lot of effort into WVM. The models are all high quality, there are plenty of dynamic, changing poses throughout scenes, a ton of choices, a ton of characters, and animations (although those are quite basic). You can also tell that Braindrop wants to cram everything, story-wise, into this game - sex, romance, drama, etc. Some things are done better than others.

The best thing about WVM is the abundance of love/sex interests. You really do build a harem in this game, and it's up to you whether you want to romance characters or keep things casual with them. The characters themselves are all high quality and varied in appearances. I wouldn't say they're all attractive, but you're guaranteed to find a handful to suit your tastes. The sex scenes themselves are usually just okay, and kept fairly short, but they're very frequent. This game is all about edging until you get to the right one, then it's time to blast off.

The worst thing about WVM is the cheesy dialogue in relationships. There's lame dialogue everywhere since you're a modern day Cassanova and every living woman's desire, but it's really tiresome with the primary love interests. You won't hear the end of "I love you," "I love you too," and every expressive variation imaginable. There's so much coddling and way too much sweet talking. Pair that with an abundance of uncomfortable close-ups - stare into Jamie's eyes if you want to learn the secrets of the universe - and you'll soon find yourself skimming through the dialogue in most scenes.

It's worth pointing out some details Braindrop included for the visuals. The first-person hugs are fantastic. The kisses, namely Jamie's, can be a bit much, but that's me not being a huge fan of her perpetually wet lips. (That's twice I've ragged on her, but she's still super sexy.) Other characters with more tame features aren't too bad.

WVM is worth checking out no matter what your interests are. The game sacrifices realism to bring you girls. Lots of them. And fast. If porn is what you want, then porn is what you'll get. But, if you're feeling lonely, in need of affection, and have always wondered what it's like to live in a world where women are all horny Carebears and you can do nothing wrong, then you'll also enjoy this. Finally a good harem game built around romance. I don't like any of the games that involve building a harem through domination or violence. That sort of stuff just isn't for me even though they seem to be the majority. So finding this was refreshing.

I'll address some of the common complaints seen in other reviews first. The complaints that this game focuses too little of actual basketball mechanics are just lol. I'm not sure what people were expecting with a porn game.

I also don't mind the complaint that the MC is too nice of a guy, because honestly I can't think of a better way to setup the concept of building a harem romantically. There has to be some reason for why so many women would want to have sex with the MC and the excuse that the MC is nice and is helping every girl with their problems is fine narratively. It also helps that the MC is a star basketball player, and all around hunk, in selling why so many women him. Another nice narrative point is the explanation for why the MC's girlfriend allows so many women to have a relationship with the MC. It is actually explained and works, as opposed to so many other harem games where it is barely addressed if at all.

I think that is what I like most about it, everything seems thought out ahead of time, and updates complete or add days and work like another episode in a TV show. In a lot of other games there are holes that don't get addressed in updates because the developer focuses on other things that makes the plot sporadic, forgets about characters, etc.

Some sort of hardship or other flaw for the MC would be welcome just for some narrative variance though.

Other things that are good. A lot of great characters with variety that aren't just tropes. For example, one of the cheerleader characters isn't exactly your stereotypical cheerleader. The two trans characters are done well, with a lot to them, and I wish more games would include characters like them. There is a choice in who you want to pursue and other minor choices that give a little variety, but I wouldn't say there are completely separate paths. But that is fine since this story is good.

Renders are great. Sometimes there are a few weird shots, but all the characters look decent and distinct. I like side-shaved heads, so it was cool to see one character have that since it is pretty rare.

Some generic background music would be nice just to have something other than silence but since it is so easy to get that on Youtube, which I do, it isn't that much of a negative.

Good amount of content with nice pacing. Nice build up to the sex scenes where everything isn't just sex from first conversation, but also it doesn't take forever to get going. The balance seems just right.

IMHO the best game I've played on this site so far. If anyone can think of similar games, message me their titles. I will be grateful.

@Braindrop is one of those few creators that should be cultivated, because you know he's on track to create something special, perhaps even Legendary, and this is just his first effort.

I have played this VN, since the first release, the renders are very good, there is little animations but since this is his first vn i'm sure he will get into making more animations as the story progresses, dialogue is also very well thought out and the english is perfect, i'm not a big fan of Ahegao, but you take good with the bad and there isn't that much to push me away from the game or even to deduct a star as i'm rating this in my own opinion (others will differ on this).
I find myself really engaged in the story so far and i am really looking forward to the next release, i have done 3 play through's of the current story so far, with trans option on and off and with and without cheating, and no matter how i play it, i keep wanting more, So if you have not played it, i highly recommend it, you will not disappointed.

This is a fun game. The story line isn't the greatest and if you try and think about any of the sport stuff in any type of critical matter it falls apart ridiculously. But let's be truthful here, you're not here for something with the accuracy of a 2K game you just want sex. For that they have numerous scenes with a good amount of creativity. Solid venture

I had my doubt about this game but ill tell you what, i was PLEASANTLY surprised! The game isnt anything crazy or revolutionary but it is well written and the characters aren't too uncanny. The scenes are great and well placed, characters are semi believable and interact not like robots. Give it a try

This games Main Character feels like how a white knight would imagine a cool character insanely "nice" to literally everybody (tons of characters) and can do basically anything,
But he has no actual goals or feelings apart from appeasing everybody making him feel super fake and uninteresting. Not to mention the 14 inch dong which is not even a talking point in this game whatever.

Then you get onto the million other characters there is a lot of them but all have a very basic personality, it's usually a base personality trait then undying devotion towards the MC (for no reason other than hes nice and attractive of course) repeat this 40 times over and you have 99% of the girls in this game. Boring.


3D Models - the models in this game vary pretty heavily there are some high definition attractive models, but there are also a bunch of ugly models with weird faces, weird eyes, just generally looking abnormal many of them have huge tits to a point where it becomes meaningless and you don't even register it as something unique about the character I guess this is just a side effect of having too many characters.


The overarching story is also super bland and uninteresting you practice basketball once even though being an amazing basketball superstar is the main characters only trait, the villains don't actually do anything the flashbacks are pretty weak overall everything that happens in the story feels meaningless.




tl;dr - This game has awful characters mediocre art and a boring story with terrible pacing The only real value is if you want to see a slideshow of sex scenes from MANY weirdly proportioned girls but all the scenes are samey.

I wanted to like this game, I really wanted to, because the setting is great. But the dialogue is way, way too verbose, with the MC being always the insufferable mister super nice guy with zero personality, always giving long boring speeches to the girls that are always in agreement with him. Look, I love harem-themed games. I know he's supposed to be the super alpha male who always knows the right thing to say. But the way that WVM delivers with the annoyingly long and out-of-touch dialogues, it just feels way too pretentious, even for my tastes.

So yeah, I can't stand the dialogue. As for the renders... they are ok, I guess. I have seen worse, I have seen better. But in the end, the whole thing feels like a waste of potential.

In all honesty, this is simply a wonderful game. You can see just how much the dev put his heart, sweat, and tears into it. I frankly do not understand some reviews, some give abysmal ratings because it is not a game true to the sport of basketball...obviously no one will ever be happy but this is destined to be in the top 10 games on this site. It is an optional harem with a kind MC, plenty of quality action, surprisingly nuanced characters given the sheer volume introduced already, and the dev really cares about the game and us, the opinionated, arm chair porn critics that we are.

So in all: excellent variety of hot women in many ages, sizes, and ethnicities (as they are increasingly expanding), a lot of strong h content, decent options based on taste, excellent handling of difficult issues (transgender), and an admirable MC.

The main cons I can see is mostly that the dev has become very stressed by this games quick rise to fame. He needs to take care of himself, so understandably there will probably be slower updates for awhile. Beyond this, the MC is a little too perfect. It would be nice to see him fail or have an obvious shortcoming so he doesn't fall into the trap of being a perfect harem king/God. Also, while the variety of women is great I am afraid thereally is a bit of a rush. I love the characters and their relationships. I do personally like to see a little bit of a slow down to the harem building before we get whiplash.

So seriously, I cannot recommend this game enough. It is wonderful and has enormous potential. This is already in my personal top five, and I look forward to any update, whenever that might be.

I liked the idea of the star athlete recruited to a college, and the possible storylines that could come from that (GF or BF, rivalries, classes, and of course basketball). But I wasn't so keen of the way the story stifled these by including the duck-faced girlfriend, mother, best friend, and girlfriends sister all attending the same college, sleeping on the floor of an RV driven by your future team mate. And why would a star athlete go to a school that had a team that had a winless season? Also, given not 1, but 2 houses? The stud storyline seemed unnecessary to me, as did the evil nephews plan. MC is a God/Gary Stu and girls drop their panties for him after 1 or 2 lines of dialogue? As far as the renders go, a few of them looked okay, but what is with the huge boobs on some of the college girls, and the MC's package, and associated stamina? Too many things crammed into a day as well, and all I wanted to do was play basketball with my bro Damian. The trans option for Shauna was a nice touch. The scene waking up in the basement was wth? The MC has no freedom as he has to meet everyone when he should be training. He was barely in class and I don't think he ever go to finish a training session due to be called to chat to a girl or run to see Charles for a pointless discussion. I'm just a bit sad as it could have been so much more. Thank you to the developer for the chance to preview your game.

This review is for WVM 0.7.6. It's difficult to even begin my thoughts on this visual novel/game because it is both massive and not yet finished. What I can say without a doubt; is that I can absolutely not wait for the next update of this game and plan to look into anything else made by its maker as soon as I finish typing this up.

So, let's get started.

PROS:

1. The characters. Wow. I have completely lost count of how many different characters I have been introduced to at this point and how many of them have exceptional personalities and back stories. Some of them are so-so, but those are mostly small part characters so far.

The characters look amazing. Rachael is gorgeous, although her boobs are about twice the size they should be. The best friend is beautiful. Some of them look more plain and lots of them have blemishes. I appreciate that because people come in all shapes and sizes. Kudos to the creators of this game for being so diverse in the appearances of their characters.

In regards to the best friend, you have the option to make her transgendered or female. I chose female, but I believe some aspects of her story line would have made more sense in the transgendered aspect. I was more interested in the main character getting with her and don't have trans interests so I didn't go back to change it.

2. The plots. This story has several plot lines. I'm not sure if you miss some by not choosing to pursue some avenues and relationships. Personally, I accepted sex every time is was offered and only opted out of looking into a relationship with Stacey. This was mostly because she caught me as a less sexy version of Jessy from Big City's Pleasures who would not have been attractive to me if she didn't go out of her way to be sexual.

3. The sex. Tons of it. Tons. Man, you can score with so many of the characters in this game; it is unbelievable. Hell, I might have missed a chance or two with decisions but still hooked up countless times. The encounters definitely put some variety into it as well, making it easy to look forward to each new encounter. I counted at least 15 women I hope are possible sexual encounters in upcoming episodes and several more that I hope return a few more times.

4. The remaining graphics are great for the most part. A few areas felt a bit rushed like the bedroom that just had a mattress on the floor, but other areas were nicely done and fit in well with the story.

CONS:

1. Boobs. Not all of them, but some look like models from the late eighties/early nineties ridiculous boob job magazine models. I get that some of the older ladies might have done that, but at least one of the teen characters had an unbelievable set. Again, this is a small thing to complain about in this game as the realism is there on nearly everything else.

2. The main character's dick appeared to be several different sizes within the game. I'm not sure if it was just me, but it looked like his cock was 10" at some points and about 19" other times. I have no real issue with pornstar dicks being portrayed in games, but let's not think we need to make John Holmes blush. Again, this was not a big deal (pun intended) in the scope of the game.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

This is a great game so far. A huge amount of time and love has been put into this project and it shows!

Although this game might not feed into a lot of fetishes, I think we might see some more in upcoming episodes if I am reading into this correctly. Either way, it has my attention and I definitely want more.

Give this one a chance. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Great VN, a few good branches that change the story based on choices, though mainly about the story. Dev keeps impressing with release schedule and content, really cannot wait for new updates. I can't recommend this game enough, especially from a new developer. One to keep an eye on.

The basketball is nothing but a horribly used backdrop to the fantasy that is the player's life and what a FANTASY come on dragons and aliens would be more realistic the damn guy can turn almost any woman into his harem girl with a 5min chat and all the rest after a second 5min chat wish I ciuld do that

The women need more attention than all the puppies in the world combined none of my dogs or exes ever needed that much attention

Sex in it was pretty good atleast it was a reason to play until the stuff you thought you could avoid at the start becomes unavoidable later on so if your preference is to avoid then again don't bother with the game as it is forced on you later.

Huge waste of my time just wanted sex and basketball was that too much ti ask

So far it's been great, I look forward to the continuation of the story and hope to see some of the other characters have some more screen time Harp and Bailey are my two favorite females and I really wanna know what gonna happen with them next

Having finished the latest update so far (0.7.6), I finally decided to post my thoughts about this game: it's easily one of the best games I've played, and I found it by complete coincidence!

The Good:
- The game is very much story-oriented and I love it, so that being said it's a great story so far. I really like the direction in which it is going, and I can't wait to see how it all develops from here.
- All characters are very well done, they all look amazing.
- The sex scenes are hot.
- Perhaps the best thing about this game: it receives regular updates by the dev, and with each new update the game only gets better.

The "Not-so-good":
- MC can sometimes seem a bit too good, like he really can't do anything wrong. It is part of his personality to strive to help those in need (or who he feels are in need of help), but in some situations it can be and is a bit overdone.

Overall, my verdict would be 4.5/5, definitely a must play for anyone who is a fan of well written porn games with some hot sex scenes!
