So the porn game "industry" has been growing a lot for the past few years.

And we can easily notice a few softwares that are commonly used amongst porn games.

I'm curious, out of : Daz, Honey Select, Koikatsu, Hand drawn & Other, which one is your personnal favorite, and which one will you be more likely to follow or check out out of curiosity?

Daz > Honey Select > Hand Drawn > Anything else.

But it all depends on the creator too, I've seen shit Daz and really good HS.

Hand drawn, 3d art tends to fall in the boring and uninspired side, with HS being a bit better because Japanese like their expressions exaggerated and a little more dynamic.

Hand drawn > Daz >>>> Honey select >>>> the rest.

The rest is a bit misleading, as there aren't that many games made in something ells. I have seen the sims characters being used once or twice, and real porn here and there (Not a fan of that), and a couple games trying to create a 3D world with very blocky characters.

But if somebody would make a game with renders from blender or maya, it could easily look better than DAZ

Hand Drawn > TK17 > Honey Select > Daz > Koikatu > Sims > Real Porn

This is assuming the game being compared from each engine is the same level of quality.

I find Daz renders are all a little samey. There are some realistic ones, but in general it's all smooth skin and large breasts. Hand drawn has more imperfections that make it more interesting to me.

I'll always take hand drawn art by a good artist over 3D. There's just so much more details when it comes to displaying movement or characters bodies interacting with each other f.e., programs like DAZ are not there (yet).

With that being said, adult 3D art has come a long way from what it was even half a decade ago and especially DAZ is now capable of producing really good looking renders when using HD character models.

I edited the poll to have multiple votes.

A bit late, but I expected Hand drawn to skyrocket since it's often original and always good to see some nice art.

Personally I'm a bit mixed about every software, most of my favorite games are hand drawn, and I would've drawn my own game if I had the talent to do so, but I treat Koi Daz & HS the same way, I usually click less on Daz games, there are so many, and the thing is it's a wide spectrum, there are as many bad Daz games as Generic Daz Games as good Daz Games as AMAZING Daz games.

Hand drawn, done well, is almost always better looking. But high-end DAZ renders, with custom skin textures, good lighting, etc look really good. Honey Select figures have to be really "tweaked" in order to look decent.

For me anything that has a bit of a cartoon feel, anime like or more realistic, looks pretty good.
So of course I like hand drawn art and honey Select, but I feel like Daz can also be used to do something like that, by selecting unusual characters and rendwring in 3delight. Been working on that for my game.
The worst for me are Iray renders. The women all look like plastic dolls and many devs just use the same models.
I really do admire the skill of people who use Iray, I know how hard that is, but honestly I just don't find the results pleasing to look at.

It totally is possible, I have been working on this myself, example included below. I use the Octane plug-in for Daz, but everything else is standard Daz Studio. The style also renders amazingly fast, this image takes a couple minutes and requires no lighting setup.

Hey man, yes, agreed, and I like your image. For my taste it's way better than Iray.
I don't use octane myself so mines are a little different, but I think kinda cute.
here's an example

of course most images in the game have backgrounds, but anyways I think this is a good example.... to me it looks like a pretty cartoon....simple, smooth, and imo attractive and sexy
I can still improve in many areas but yeah, simple and beautiful, maybe a little stylized, are my cup of tea.

While I've played Daz and other render games in the past, tbh at this point I hardly ever bother anymore. There's literally hundreds of VNs with rendered graphics at this point, and since they all look pretty much the same you don't know what's good and what sucks until you've wasted your time on it. And even if it is good, the story can't get too crazy or unique because it's going to be limited by what people can find models for.

People only need to be a bit more creative, invest a bit more time and they can create a lot of unique stuff in Daz, you aren't limited to what is sold in the Daz store...

@ topic: I don't really care if it's well done. What I don't like is copy n paste.
