The prologue is written as a multi-path experience. To experience each path save after the incident when the MC goes into the alley to decide his next steps and play each path until the park.

This will set you up for the best experience in chapter one, which I'm structuring with more flexible choices rather than 3 distinct routes.

Does that mean that the player simply chooses a path and nothing else for the moment, or does the player have control over the LI or kinks on each path?

Yes, I read the overview. That's why I'm asking whether I missed a prequel or previous game.
It sounds like we should already know "our hero" and that hero has had previous adventures to be "catapulted back into" the new adventures.
Were there other games? Is this part of a series?
