So Yuzu developers tried to lock advanced features behind a paywall, essentially trying to make money from that's still under copyright by Ninty.
A stupid move as this initially pushed more users to Ryujinx and then Ninty found out, issuing C&D notices.

Eventually, Yuzu developers agreed to settle out of court with these two stipulations: a $2.4M penalty AND destruction of all Yuzu files and Yuzu-related machines and tools.
Ryujinx is now the undisputed king of Switch emulators (as it now supports Mac OS as well) and are reasonably safe as they haven't tried to monetise their emulator. Hopefully they've learned from yuzu's mistake.

Emulation is legal. Making money from someone else's property is not. Yuzu depended Ninty proprietary files. By monetising their "Advanced" features, they pushed plagiarism from it being a non-punishable offence into outright crime.

A decent emu killed by greed and stupidity.
