I'm unaware of the "no payment/time progression" bug as I've never played the female path.

The main problem with EVIL (besides the horrible code formatting) is that it is too ambitious, too broad. The author tries to be all things to all people. This makes all of the content rather thin. As I play through the original game, nearly everything is only one level deep, sometimes two. It makes the entire game feel shallow.

The author could have given his game a lot more story and depth if he had been more focused. I'm not going to make the same mistake. I'm not going to try and develop three paths (male, female, trans) and support multiple races (black, white) and scene types (regular, POV). If the author really wants to pull all of that off, he needs a medium to large team working on it, sort of like a small development studio has.

I'm currently not adding a whole lot, just improving existing content and replacing some of the poor quality pictures and videos. I'm mainly focused on home sex, dating, nightclub, and slave training right now. I'm only working on the male path. It takes forever, even being this focused.

I'm developing this mod in my spare time. I don't have a team and am not really interested in creating one at this point (I was in the beginning though). I do want players to contribute good video clips to help the game and mod as stated in my earlier post.

There may be a time when I do support other paths, but the game is too much of a mess right now. I'm trying to make the code and game work well first.

Ah I removed all audio and cut the video sizes in mine, plus went down to 1,000Kbps. Just for a size thing or would of shared all the added black girl stuff I had. Do however have some of their body type pictures that I did without any adjustments really. If you want those, thinking about blurring faces but unsure as of yet if I'll do that.
Pretty much turned my version into a learning experience. Since I usually don't mess with coding very much, just do mainly translations. Which I could contribute to more translations. Just been having fun with modding my local version so far, merging in the original author's next changes is going to be a pain.

This is exactly right - the game is trying to do to many things at once. I helped Corseik with a couple of female protag scenes in this mod a few months ago, but fell out because the way the game is structured. When content is added, it needs to work within this tortured system and work with men, women, trans characters. As a new coder (me), it was just too much to try to sort through, and too limiting.

The game would probably benefit a lot by ignoring/commenting out the starts for non males, and just focus on content for male protags.

Players just don't understand that it would take me a year just to make all the functionality in the game work well. I'm having a fun time working on the mod, so not all is lost.

If players want all the original functionality they can play the original game in all it's broken pieces (extremely buggy). I just spent the past six hours making the pro boxing feature work well. It didn't even work in its current form (the code was SO bad).

I do hope that players will be pleasantly surprised with what I have done with the game. Cheers!

I think you are right about being damned by some, but main issue for me in this game has allways been lack of content. Its better if you or someone who can make this game playable even if it means cuttin the rest out.

I could care less about the player trans stuff, I stick to either male or female. Still, not going to grill you over it, the code IS a mess to fix by oneself. I'm also just glad someone is is fixing the boxing code as well. That shit was a nightmare both code wise and grind wise. (0_o)

If I stick with the mod long enough I'll eventually get to the female protagonist part of the game. It really depends on how long I want to mod it and how much interest there is in the mod. Corseik didn't seem to get much support when he modded the game (only 1 review and 11 pages of posts), but hopefully I'll get more.

If I try and fix everything, players won't see the mod release for 6 - 12 months. I'm trying to fix enough of it so that I can release it this month. It will be far from perfect and there are plenty of parts of the game that I haven't had time to look at.

I'm hoping players like what I've done with the boxing part of the game. The pace is faster with the pro boxing and it should make sense now. Before I touched it, all pro boxing matches pretty much ended the same. Half of the code produced the wrong results from a pro boxing match. It should function a lot better now.

I will attempt to fix bugs as they are reported. Hopefully players will report the bugs they find.

Hmm, if that was why Corseik left I can see why, although if download numbers were shown then it might have told him a different tale. Guess I should make it a point to engage more on things in the forums rather than lurk and pop up every now and then during my free time.

A lot of players here on F95Zone have at least a small porn collection sitting on their hard drives. Most people only save and download the better or exceptional clips.

One player has sent me over 20 clips so far. No one else has offered to contribute. If there isn't much interest in this mod then I probably won't stick with it long term. Developers don't like to put in lots of hours into projects that won't get used.

Players don't have to do any editing. They can send me the full scene and I can edit it myself. I only listed the video format details for those who are skilled in video editing. I'm not really skilled in video editing but I understand the basics. I mainly just cut out the portions of the video that I don't want and then re-save the video with the parameters I listed. I just use the free 'Windows Movie Maker' software that is a free download with Windows 10. I haven't spent any money on video editing software.

Most of the better scenes I have are from torrent downloads. Most porn websites don't offer good quality HD video downloads without a subscription.

I can do everything myself, it just takes longer. Some players ask how they can contribute to projects and this is the best way to contribute to my mod project of EVIL.

Most people want to play, not contribute let alone create. Imagine what would happen if all the creators and developers went away, players would have nothing to play. I don't have a Patreon account and have never asked for any compensation for the mods I have done.

Games like EVIL are a dying breed. Players absolutely LOVE Ren'Py Visual Novels on this site. They are by far the most popular games on F95Zone. With visual novels, players have their hands held throughout the entire game with little decision making or thinking required. Players want to be entertained without putting forth much effort on their end (kind of like watching a movie).

If I wanted to be popular, I would create Ren'Py Visual Novels with incest as the main theme. Players eat this shit up like there is no tomorrow. Even bad Ren'Py Visual Novels with incest get good reviews and lots of attention for some reason.

If you haven't looked at it yet, you should give 'Girl Life' a try. I contributed to that game for a while last year. It features a female protagonist.

Ah I was the guy who came in after you left Jack-o-nine and translated the rest of variables for Jack-o-nine but stopped playing that due to the loli content mainly (which is the reason they removed it from the site here.) Its not my kind of game but, I always checked to see if anyone changed anything in game. There was one person who translated the rest of the variables for Jack-o-nine-tails towards the very end of my involvement with the game. It may have been you. I didn't end up using it because the person just did the translating without fixing the multitude of bugs that resulted. After 16 hours of trying to make it work I finally threw in the towel and gave up on it. The translation author wasn't willing to fix the bugs either so that was the end of it. That is why I didn't attempt to translate the rest of the variables myself because it was too much work for the small benefit. A smooth and clean translation wasn't possible as the translation author found out.

Thanks, but I don't plan on adding or fixing the multiple races feature in the game. I'm not removing the code but I'm not fixing it either or adding to it. I will take good clips of non-black actors.

I've already killed the POV and standard video options in the game. Players now get a mix of both.
