Can i request this whole thread to be deleted? I am not looking forward to remembering this when i stumble across this thread in the future again...
If you do become a game dev, hell anything where it's on you now and not your employer, you WILL make mistakes, the key isn't to deny them, or to try to erase them, but to be able to acknowledge them, learn from them, and grow stronger because of it. Because of that, no matter how cringe or whatever you feel about this popping up, what you learn from it will be worth it.

This was my very first game (back when I lurked in the SIMBRO patreon page and I was called Apocrypha), it's a complete load of shit and I'm surprised it got 1.5 stars. It features:
* Cut out figures. With some of the background still there in the image.
* Full length videos instead of a sequence of images so it ballooned quickly to 6GB.
* Completely awful UI.
* Music that was loud and not coded in to be a certain level.
* Rushed main story.
* Companion stories not finished.
I learnt from each and every one of these things*, now when I look back, I'm glad I never asked for the thread to be deleted, even though I felt quite possibly the same as you do now. But I link it and display it to show that in your case "Okay I rushed to a conclusion, panicked about a false conclusion, got a little defensive against Count Moron Dildo, BUT I've learn I will not erase it, I will/have learnt to develop calm when first encountering an issue, I will/have better analysis skills to find out and research information and I will/have learnt to accept valid criticism of my game AND myself (because as a dev you and your personality flaws and strengths affect the game and subsequent image and marketing) and now that I have/will have these, I'm all the stronger for it".
Now go out and see what you can do. Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, take that step.
* Except the UI part, I can hold my hands up to that.
