Unreal Engine - Wild Life [Patreon Build 2024.04.19] [Adeptus Steve]

Despite how long I've been following this project I'm surprised I havent left a review for it. I guess I've been waiting for it to get into a more reviewable state, whatever that could be, but whatever. This game seems to suffer from one major problem and that is the fact that it's constantly getting animated content and yet doesnt go anywhere at all. You'll see it constantly in the patch notes every time one drops. X amount of animations are added to the sandbox and the list on their drive continues to grow to a large degree and yet progress seems to never be made.

First and foremost the "game" part of this project is pretty heavily marketed in order to sell it and yet it's all but there. Seriously, go to any of their pages and thats the first thing you'll see. It's an open world survival game, go on an adventure with Maya and Max, it's a survival game with combat elements, etc etc. They NEVER mention that 90% of this game is purely just an aimless sandbox with superb animation and models. If it was simply marketed as a sandbox I feel like it wouldn't be as well known or popular but at the very least the demographic would be more specific and the disappointment would be far less. Sure there are some test quests and a very bare bones proof of concept gameplay with some basic combat and such but it seems to just be completely still and never really improves. At one point it was a village in the canyons and then it was a crash landing in the forest and then a completely open field with even less foliage and developed assets and characters. If anything it really seems like progress has gone backwards because they don't really know how they want the game to start or where it will go.

The sandbox has been the sole focus of this game for basically its entire life span. It's actually pretty smart in a way if you think about it from a business perspective. You make a ton of characters that COULD be featured in the game and will likely be in the game if it ever happens, but instead you captivate people with these characters and smooth animations that look great to draw in an audience, and then do nothing with them. If anything because its a sandbox you end up making the players do all the work. The community has done an interesting job making their own maps and such using the tools given to them that some of those maps with the most effort are just simply enjoyable to stroll around in and see what people did. A giant slaver ship, a huge hotel, a small village, all populated by various characters getting it on. If anything Wild Life would probably be best if it dropped the gameplay aspect and they just spent more time developing the sandbox and its tools to support the players because thats all it has going for it.

The animations are great, the models are wonderful, the game barely exists at all, and the sandbox is a fucking mess. That basically sums up this game. The file size is so fucking huge too because of these decisions that it's like playing Breath Of The Wild/Tears of the Kingdom or even Skyrim but then you remove all the villages and NPCs and such and are left with this giant barren map with literally no content at all and are told "just press T and summon whatever you want" and it's basically been that way since 2017 and continues to be that way with no real hint that the game is ever going to really develop.

TL;DR: Game has barely moved an inch in many, many years, top quality animations and decent customization bogged down by a lack of everything else.

+ Probably the best flying in any videogame I have experienced, very entertaining to simply take to the skies
+ Arguably some of the best graphics in any adult game
+ Animation physics are top notch
+ Decent variety of animations
+ Good customization (Though the hair options suck ass at the moment)

- Barren wasteland when it comes to actual content, 'story' mode is half-baked and forces you to play as some guy named Max, boring and lacking in any meaningful content. Sandbox mode is filled to the brim with placeholder assets, has no save feature, and generally is just an animation viewer more than anything
- For some reason they've removed the old assets which included a complete village with NPCs scattered around, and the assets for that village are probably locked away behind the sandbox editor, your sandbox options currently are: A barren rocky desert OR a low-poly beach with some texture-less models scattered about. Unless you're looking to mod in some sandbox environments, you're shit outta luck when it comes to having a decent backdrop for your animation viewing (Not like there is anything else to do in this 'game')
- Some of the VA is painful to listen to, would rather have nothing instead
- Really not much to do besides view animations and customize a bunch of characters

I can't believe the sandbox mode hasn't gotten a save system in so many years, crazy to think they've just been adding animations for the past few years instead of padding out the game with actual content, not like there are that many more animations compared to a couple of years ago, anyway. Honestly worth a shot to view the animations you like then delete and forget, the devs are clearly enjoying the Patreon dosh too much to even consider finishing this game.

This game is seriously next-level stuff. I mean, The graphics? Oh man, they're just stunning. And the way the animations flow so seamlessly, it's like watching a movie, but you're actually in it.

What really blows my mind is the sheer variety of animations and character interactions. You can mix and match them in so many ways, it's like there's no end to the possibilities. And let's talk about the playground feature – being able to set up scenes with any number of characters and objects? It's like being a director in your own little virtual world.

But what really sets this game apart is the community. People are getting super creative with the custom maps, creating all sorts of, well, let's just say XXX experiences that you won't find anywhere else. It's like a whole new level of gaming, and I can't see anything else matching it for a long time.

I really like this "game". I say it like that because, well, it's not yet a game, and it's taking ages to be one. It has evolved into a sandbox game creator, a tool (such as VaM or DAZ), but it still far away from being playable.

The issue is that, the devs dont have a very focused idea on what they want or what they think we want, so it a blurry situation, where they invest very little in many things at the same time.

For me, I gave 4 stars because I have been messing around with the sandbox mode and that is really awesome! Having a lot of fun using the props and learning new things I can.

I hate how the game and the characters are great, but this is literally just a sex animation player for those different characters.
Yeah there is a lot of characters and A LOT of sex animations (it seems that the dev team only adds those in every update instead of optimizing the game and adding actual content that is basically promised in the description and previous builds), but that doesn't make it a good game, since this is basically not a game!
In an older built there was building and npcs around the map on the older map, but in the latest build there is quite literally nothing fun to do in this game... at least in the older versions you could either to the demo story mode or go into sandbox mode and do whatever in the map that has npcs that you don't need to spawn or move around, same goes with buildings.
I really hate how this has been going for over 7 years now and the game basically feels the same as the first builds, only the graphics improved (But not the optimizations!) and more npcs, and lets not forget the bajillions of sex animations you won't see most likely since you can't even access them in story mode!
Even for a decent PC i've got, the game for some reason likes to run like shit, while many other newer games run perfectly fine (ex. Rdr2, Cyberpunk, FH5, Doom Eternal and many more games that have great graphics imo)

I genuinely think the devs should focus on not jacking off to their sex animations and start actually building the game and it's story cause currently it just feels like a fucking placeholder with characters

most of the animations are very good, but there's just too much while using that gui for selecting them....

Amazing potential, fumbles the landing.

First of all the quality of the sex scenes is phenomenal! So why not 5 stars? It's complicated... literally. The UI is very confusing and to see and properly enjoy all the scenes you have to fumble through the UI to reach them. And in the scenes the controls to progress are very non intuitive. The control you have over the scene isnt quite there.

There is a story mode which you can use to reach some of the scenes in an interesting an organic way. But unfortunately there is a combat and stealth system that takes you out of it.

So yes there is a good game in there, but its hard to get into it

Impressive world, good animations and great future ahead. I really hope that they include a RPG touch to the sandbox so in that way you will be totally hook by this game. Come on guys, this is a jewel of adult genre. we need more creators like these people

I do not endorse scummy advertisement tactics and for that reason I give it a 1-star. If they stop giving false hope to their supporters that there will ever be a story, and just stop and say it'll be a sandbox then I'll give it a 5-stars. Instead they made this nice non-specific timeline with huge ambitions on what the project will end up looking like without really tying themselves down to any deadlines.

I've been following this game since its infancy and I have the earlier builds from 2020 and with every update then, real improvements were made within weeks instead of months. There was a period they were making leaps of progress within 1-month updates but now, they are releasing an update around every 3 months with very little to show for it.

I think somewhere along the line, probably around 2 years ago, Steve gathered his team and they decided to milk their loyal patrons for as long as possible until either cries of outrage forces them to go back and continue properly developing their game or support just dwindles and fades away. Either way, they're milking thirsty, pathetic fanboys for millions (yes millions, do the math - they make around 100k per month on patreon alone), with the allure of nice visuals, amazing animations and a story that will eventually come.

Sorry, not sorry - this is not how you do business. Publish your game and end it there if you quit developing it otherwise you are no better than AAA-companies like bethesda with your business practices and marketing. And before the pathetic fanboys come crying, YES, I DID SUPPORT THEM FOR 1 MONTH so shut it!

The most ambitious UE5 project and the best VR from all current games here.
Graphics is stunning, as are animations which are hand-aligned piece by piece for each character, so no clipping no weird things.

The amount of animations and combinations between characters is stunning, bar NONE currently developed project.

The playground that allows placing any amount of characters, be it in poses or freestanding, with any number of 3d objects around them allows for vast modding and crating unique 3d levels, that when using VR is something better than anything Meta or other big names have released. Community has made such erotic experiences with custom maps, that there is nothing else that would match this project in the next few years.

After so many years of development still no game to be played. Its a scam to keep people crowdfunding. Only updates are for the sandbox and game content is non existing in all these years. The game itself is only 15 minutes of gameplay and you're done. You're better off watching video's on the game as the game itself is also a huge download.

I have been following this project for a couple of years now and I have played the latest UE5 version and the last UE4 version.

Let me start with the UE4 version which included the beginning of a story mode. You start off as Max, a young lad whose ship has crashed on an alien world inhabited by Humans and anthropomorphic beasts called "Kerpali" as well as "feral" versions that serve as enemies. You must navigate a "feral" infested jungle to reach the coastal village. You have the option between choosing stealth or going guns blazing. Combat is your basic FPS with a melee option.

When you reach the village, you reach your mate and have a wager who can bang the most girls in the village. Sex scenes are high quality, and what I find the most interesting is that you could be literally caught with your pants down and have to engage in combat. This is a very unique gameplay feature. I don't think there are many FPS shooter sex simulators out there.

Now onto the UE5 version. Very bare bones, and strictly sticking with sandbox. The developers seemingly are now reworking the entire demo and desire to redo the enviorment entirely. It seems most of the development has been focused on adding more sex scenes, more characters, more poses, etc and less so on the actual storyline and other gameplay mechanics which is a shame but is to be expected. If and when the devs add the storyline back and the game is not just a very excellent sex scene simulator, I must rate it 4/5 stars.

Note: This game is very graphically intensive, so you must have a beefy computer to run it.

So, here's the lowdown on "Wild Life": the big draw is the sandbox - it's like a playground packed with customization and killer animations. They've been at it for ages, but only recently did they start beefing up the actual storyline.

Been in the works for 6 years, can you believe it? And so far, it's pretty much all sandbox, all the time.

Gave the Steam demo a whirl and it was slick - great graphics, solid story, the works. Then I grabbed the Patreon version, thinking it's the hot ticket, but... yikes, it's a letdown. It's like stepping back into the early 2000s, minus the charm.

People on the forums say the Patreon is the latest version, but all I'm seeing is sandbox mode and a whole lot of missing pieces.

Six years down the line, and it's a sandbox with a side of hype. That's the Patreon game hook for you – keep the game "in progress," keep the money coming.

One of the best Real H-games out there, real studio behind this game, the only BIG downside is that it's pretty much just a gallery/scene viewer for now.

They add new features and then change them some month later , the oprimization of the game is worser and worser with every update. Nevertheless the animations are the best in the whole porn community--

This game is pretty much a fucking scam

There are barely any reclaiming qualities and this game has been out for a while.

The game has the graphics of a Roblox game a 15yo can make which wouldn't be a big of a problem if the game wasn't made on Unreal Engine and not advertised for it's graphics.

Story is very bland and boring, human characters look very ugly in my opinion (Furry ones look decent)

Game is a buggy fucking mess keeps crashing on sandbox mode or when i try to modify my character. And Story mode is ass and there is no reason to play it lmao.

One of the things that i don't understand is how can a unfinished mess of a game like this can take 25+ Gigabytes of space. Like holy shit this game takes as much space as an complete Triple A game while having bare minimum of content.

Basically a marketing stunt and possibly a scam. I have got the game for free and i want a refund. Really doesn't worth the space this game is going to take or the bandwidth you'll be using to download the game.

This simply isn't a game. It's an animation viewer with lofty ambitions and dubious promises. There is absolutely no reason to believe that it will ever achieve anything resembling what it aims/claims to be.

You cannot even call it the Star Citizen of WEGs because Star Citizen actually has something resembling its vision of gameplay, unfinished and buggy though it may be.
