Ren'Py - My Maid Dreams of Electric Sheep [v0.5.12] [dodongamagnifico]

In short, I like the technical qualities of the game together with the way it plays and looks. The premise of the story is very interesting. It has great looking models, with good animation and detail. Decent amount of content that leaves me satisfied and looking forward to future updates.


The Grind (??)
The game is originally a tiny bit slow and grindy but it quickly gets easier to earn money and continue on with the story. Earning money also gives you a small initial goal of trying to min-max it by trying to get promoted quickly so I've little problem with it. However, I have a little comment with regards to carpentry (one other source of income later on in the game). Concept wise, I love the idea of the character learning a hobby to become less depressed but I do find the actual process a bit grindy more because of the menu used to navigate it or how much clicking it takes when making multiple items.

The Plot
Story-wise, I like the bleak vibe it gives off. It makes it easy to get with the MC and appreciate Ako (the maid) even more as their sole reason to live and upset the mundane eat-work-sleep lifestyle the MC initially has. There's still much more to be unraveled in the backstory of the MC and so far, the game does a good job of making me interested in it.

The Hot
As for the H-scenes, they don't disappoint. Ako's model looks clean and thicc by default and if you're maybe interested in other body types, the game also has the option of giving her differing body 'shells' as you progress to cater to different people and hopefully gets more diverse later on. Maybe it could be possible to add other forms of customization to her like for hairstyles as well. The eyes are another thing I want to comment on since while they're full on just diamonds to indicate robo-lady, it's easy to notice that they look similar to the heart eyes trope whenever the lids are half-open which is creative. The animations look and sound amazing. Some scenes have changeable angles that might include a POV shot that just help show how hot they are even more. Currently, theres just a bit more than a handful of poses available which all showcase this and hopefully more in the future.

As a side note to relate to the story, doing the deed is also a way to lower your Depression (along with just interacting with the maid in general) though it doesnt feel like a chore. It's easy to get to a sex scene since you just have to click on the maid and voila the option is right there. You get to unlock more positions as you progress through the story and you get upgrades for her, which are more often than not proposed by her as she learns to live through life with the MC. Looking forward to how this ties in to her past as well and her 'questionable' specs.

Great game with good graphics and animations. The story is a bit slow but decent and the grind is very real at first, but it fits with the dark ambient ( its a dystopian future, basically today´s world worsened). Eventually the grind ends and you are left with more time. As of right now, there is a good amount of content, relationship pogression and scenes with different "outfits".

Updates are slow but the game has a very good quality and the updates deliver. Give it a shot and consider supporting the creator.

Love the bleak theme of the game and the muted colors of the world plays really well into it. That song that loops forever on the radio perfectly sets the vibe for the game.

The grind is tedious and boring, but the grind itself really leans well into the feelings of the MC, which is what I think the dev is going for.

This game is very charming.

Usually I don't have enough patience and often use save file uploaded by other people. But this time, despite the slow pace, I did the whole content available (patch 0.5.10), twice, on Android too and I enjoyed my time again.

- The animation and characters design are the main arguments and I must say it's top notch, very smooth and amazing.
- The story isn't that superb but it sets a unique vibe very well and the pace is perfect. It bundle everything well together.

One of my top favorite game for sure. Can't wait to see more.

Super cool game love the story so far I love how everyone are corrupt and emotionless kinda but with just a little love from people can go so far love the mechanics love the sound of the intimacy from ako. not any bugs I’ve noticed. Ps please let us of the choice to rescue the clerk.

Usually I skip renpy games, usually indie VN games look very poorly made, but this one caught my eye, animations looks great and it even has some sub-plots, the game is still in early dev but still is the best game vn game on renpy that i had ever played

Honestly don't usually like ren'py games, but this one is pretty interesting and feels high quality. I think it does a good balance of porn and dialogue and the character storylines are simple but well done.

Played from start to finish on version 0.5.10

• Story: simple but tasteful, with a hint of more in-depth stories in future updates.​

• Renders: Bro, look at the screenshots - I like it personally.​
• Sound: Awesome, the music, effects and h-effects are on point.​
• Playability: Typical VN, with a couple of simple mini-games.​
• Amount of content: Not bad already, you can start and not be afraid that everything will be over in 15-20 minutes.​

Great animations and great story that actually makes you want to know more instead of hitting the skip button.

But let's be real here. Any game that makes you care about the characters in a game not to mention a robot besides watching pixels fuck on a your screen deserves full 5 stars.

I love this so much the animation is so smooth af and the story as well is very depressing in someways :') was finding something to you know on but found my self deep in to the story HAHA it is a good game visually for me.

It is not necessary to play the mini-game to progress in the story. I respect the work of the author who must have struggled programming this part of the game.

The grind is the only bad thing in this game. Otherwise, the relation you develop with the android is amazing. The animations are good. Can't wait for more content to get from this little gem. (Version 0.4.9 while writing this review.)

Work and crafting can both be a bit grindy at the start, but eventually it's not so bad. Skipping and Auto seem to have bad effects on the crafting window. I ended up with -5 ordinary spoons.

My Maid Dreams of Electric Sheep is another one of those groundhog's day maid fucking type games. Get money, get maid, fuck maid, get a gun, win the game right?

I normally dislike this style of game. However, instead of ignoring the existential horror of a world where nothing changes and a maid is perpetually cleaning a cock house, Electric Sheep leans into it. The protagonist is fighting the tedium of an emotionless bland world... admittedly through fucking around just like in the other games. It's still a way better story than "boo hoo I'm too rich to function, better fuck my maid, woe is me."

It still wouldn't get five stars if it weren't for the gorgeous animations and cute robot girl doing robot things. There's also a prostitution side story that made me feel a little guilty. Still tapped that. Would like to see the poor girl get a good end.

The gameplay is just slightly grindy, but does its best to stay out of the way. The lever pulling mini-game has an auto button so making money is a dozen clicks a day instead of a hundred or so. Other than that it's basically a scene finder that advances a story.

Overall, give it a try. It's kinda sitting on the border between four and five stars for me, but I guess I'm a simp for cute robot girls. That or pulling levers.

EDIT: Having played the game a little more, I've come to the realization that the game is incredibly repetitive once you knock out the prostitution side story. Five stars is pushing it, though it might reach that point with some more content.

A fantastic game in terms of it's gameplay loop of resource management, a drab and depressing future dystopia setting, with amazing 3D art and H-scenes. It's ambition and scope is heavily limited by it's engine (Renpy), but even so it still feels extremely well made.

This is another game suffering from three things. Translation, Grind, and Humor. I shouldn't have to explain why a translation being bad IN A GAME YOU READ is a miserable experience, not to mention the many spelling mistakes on top of it. But humor generally falls flat when everything tries to be funny. Look, I get it. "It's supposed to be contrasting to the dark, bleak corporate hellscape future MC is stuck in." Only, it feels like it was made formulaically: "Depressed scene, funny joke. Depressed scene, funny joke. Depressed scene, funny joke. Mind numbing minigame. Depressed scene, funny joke." Like, have some balls and make your reader feel something beyond crying from the tip of their penis. And, like so many sandboxes before it, it actually makes sex a chore. How do you do that? You grind to get to a sex thing, but have to grind the sex things to balance out the depression bar. I love repeating the same shit over and over. Said no one ever. And you get no indication of when anything is about to happen, you just grind grind grind until an arbitrary number went up a random amount of times. The two objectives are "Buy a robot maid" and "Be happy. Make Ako happy." But when the "fun bits" even feel like a job, what is the point? Is the presentation and art a cut above the rest? Yeah, sure. Am I against grinding? Not necessarily. But I have to know what I need to do. Imagine in dark souls or destiny you didn't know how much damage you do, while also having a health bar that doesn't quite tell you exactly how much damage you've taken, but it says that things are changing. You attack the enemies for quite a long time, they do the same to you, and you have no idea how much progression you're achieving. Only for two hours later you die or get fed up, and people to say "it's a you problem?" You'd never touch the game again.

The story is nothing, too. MC is depressed because a totalitarian government feeds happy pills to the people that cause severe depression in a non negligible percent of the population. MC makes the oh-so-funny bucket list of "Get robot maid, fuck it" You grind for three days to get the money, get a blowjob and MC tries to kill himself. The maid stops him, the quirky doctor offers robot upgrades for X0,000 credits each, and you grind until the game says "New sex thing at the convenience store" or Ako says "I want this body upgrade, can you waste time and grind to pay X0,000 more credits?" If this is what modern gaming thinks fun feels like, I think I'd rather do what MC tried to do, my god. So, you grind and grind repeating everything until you get notifications about body mods and books available. Then, finally, you get a story tidbit, someone's been committing arson on androids. The shells you've been buying. Then, [YOU'VE REACHED END OF CONTENT]. Fun.

I know, I'm being harsh. But I see all this effort FINALLY put into a game on this site and it's a microtransaction away from being live service type grinding. And it's boring. The gameplay loop is this: "Got to bed. Spawn at the workplace, get to work, play the minigame once, then, you grind it out holding CTRL (or my spacebar auto-clicker.) Auto-Overtime?-Yes Repeat. Then you go home, nap twice, repeat the minigame loop, drink a coffee that costs 1000 credits, REPEAT THE MINIGAME LOOP AGAIN. And you do that for about 3-5 game days until you can afford the maguffin. Then you grind affection and/or sex with Ako, skipping days waiting until an event actually triggers, to REPEAT THE MINIGAME GRIND AGAIN." I know, later there's a DIFFERENT grind where you make absurd amounts of money whittling spoons and bowls. But the issue is, the reward for grinding should be story and maybe a unique sex scene, but no. It's a sex scene you have to grind to lower depression that does nothing? As far as I could tell. You can buy and make food that spoils, that's an extra mechanic you have to track for whatever reason. And turn on or off Ako's brain to sexually assault a vegetable. What I'd like to ask is that enough grindy mechanics are there, please don't add more. Just add story, characters, and/or sex. We don't need to start playing QWOP or something to have MC be able to shower. I know sandboxes and mechanics are very fun to make, but making a chore for players will drive them away.

Bottom line. The English is not great. Granted the story and dialogue is sparse being a sandbox grind, but I have seen worse. The UI is great, it's cohesive, looks good and there was effort put into it. The UX is fine... I dock it because, and I have no idea why this happens, but the clickable area on buttons in the navigation menu don't work? Your mouse has to be halfway over the words to click the buttons. It's odd. And Ako's body for most lewd content before I even knew there were body mods, had the inverted nipple body with bigger boobs, but I didn't know until AFTER I unlocked the petite frame that THAT wasn't the default. Should probably look into that. Also! The folder, executable, and window title ALL spell "Electric" wrong. Maybe spell check that... The art is great, some of the best looking Koikatsu visuals I've seen, if not an overuse of video files but whatever. The Dialogue, like I said, it's either "I'm gonna kill myself" "How can I serve you?" or "LOLWHACKYRANDOM." I guess the choices you make kinda dictate otherwise, but I find myself making MC nice just out of being uncomfortable constantly saying "Fuck you" or "Leave me alone." And the story, it's minimal. There are a total of FOUR story events. Intro, MC attempting suicide, MC attempting AGAIN, and the last bit about androids being attacked. Everything else is grind or meaningless. To the dev, I like what you have, it's different keep it up, but I'd much rather learn about the dark totalitarian overtones than play simon says 67614 times. If the grind, spelling, and story stuff get addressed, I'll happily eat my words and re-review this. Best of luck.

Renders are really cool. A-ko is sweet, I really like her. The story itself is depressive but still heartwarming.
Yeah, it's grindy a lot, but this grinding is really immersive. I mean, you job is just mindless clicking on buttons. Make you think, huh?
The only problem is bugs coming with each new update but dev promptly fixes them.

The story is about a sucidal guy, not really having a direction in his life except for one goal and it was to purchase a maid and fuck it. Later, when he finally saved enough to buy, it got sold to someone else. Luckily for him, a doctor(?) has a deal for him about a experiment about an android living with a human. From here on it is about his interactions dealing with his new android maid.

The animation and renders were really good. Definitely one of the better games on this platform.

Decent story, good graphics, good audio, decent H scenes, after playing My dystopian robot girlfriend feels like a better version of that game. There is a lot of grinding but i liked it, felt it has purpose since there is a lot of things to buy and craft. Would be nice if Maid had more dialogue options, after clicking 20 time chat option with her im confused why is it even an option if she says always the same thing. Overall 5/5 game for me.

This game is real masterpiece in setting an emotional tone. It's well written and interesting, and the graphics serve it well. The deepening sense of emotional connection between the protagonist and their maid is set in a potently depicted world of alienation, which drives the dark mental state of the protagonist.

Basically, for an adult game, this is deep and interesting, and shows that visual erotica can have literary and sociological elements.
