I feel like I wouldn't mind waiting a week or two at least for the premium versions of some of these high quality games, like Our Fate and potentially this one. That way it incentivizes people to support the project and even further increase the quality of the releases. Some of these games have really earned the support. After this update I'm shifting some of my other $10 pledges to $5 so I can increase my pledge to this project. Yes, this looks like it's on track to be a truly exceptional game, which is rare, and worth supporting.

That was quick but wow, I knew it was gonna be good from the preview but I didn't expect THAT. The writing, the music, renders (lighting and scene composition) really sets a unique vibe.

I hate comparisons and hyperbole but I just have to say it, it got me feeling nostalgic for something I've never experienced (being a high school teenage girl) the way Life is Strange Season 1 did. Just my experience.

Great Start Erosion, looking forward to where you guys take the story.

The renders/artwork look to be absolutely first class ... but still not enough to draw me in. The first reason is of course the all female cast - I'm not a lesbian, and don't aspire to be one, so the game doesn't have that extra draw of offering fantasy fulfilment. The second reason is that the game is still too early in development to have a rewarding and fulfilling story yet.

Female protagonist :/ . It’s not like I’m a homophobe, it’s just that when you play as a female it doesn’t feel like you achieved anything.

I tend to see the female protagonist corruption games just like the male protagonist corruption games except that I the male player don't have (or need) an avatar. However having no way to make the female lead take dick at all, and no complete storylines, yeah, I agree that in this specific case there's not going to be much sense of achievement or reward.

Usually FemPro games don't appeal to me at all, especially if it's primarily F/F content, sexually that does nothing for me (I don't mind finger action and oral and all that at all, as long as the it ends in penetrative sex, without the use of toys, but that's just me), but after trying "Jessica O'Neil's Hard News", which obviously is a FemPro story, I'm actually a bit more open-minded about such games, because J.O.H.N. was A LOT more enjoyable than I had first thought it to be, it's actually one hell of a good VN, and I have no doubt in my mind that "High Life" can be that, too.

And I hear that in this one you can more or less decide the MC's sexual orientation, or at least which kind of sex she will engage in (F/F, M/F etc) down the road? If that's true, then I'd be even more interested in giving this one a try. The overview and preview pictures sound and look real good, so the interest in trying this one out is definitely there, guess I just need a little bit more persuasion to really go for it, haha.

Based on the development updates by the dev, and what other people have said in this thread, I think you as the player can decide that. Like if she's to try anal and happens to like it (I guess you can decide if she will try and like it or not), then I guess she'd be even more open-minded about that particular activity. But that's just how I understood it, so don't quote me on that
But yeah, my understanding is that you can decide just how "pure" or "depraved" she'll be, haha.

In general, this game is definitely worth to keep an eye on.

However, the character's action doesn't feel logical at all. An easy example is needing to pee after breakfast. Peeing shouldn't take that long to be "oh you're going to be late if you pee now", and also considering that she really needs to pee, why is it even an option to hold the pee until she gets to school? If you choose to pee anyway, she was like "I can't hold it any longer" ... yet it's an option to wait until she gets to school. The script might need a bit of work to make things more believable.

Text also needs to pop up instantly instead of with like 1-second delay. People can read fast and then click to next text but accidentally skip some of the text because it didn't pop up yet.

But other than that, it's a promising game.

This is what I wrote when I played the demo, and honestly, it didn't change as much after playing episode 1. Eleanor really feels like a weird character being written by multiple people with different ideas of how she's supposed to be. It's weird.

A super prude girl who wears a sweater in summer, yet wearing a g-string that shows even more skin than the supposedly-slutty friend Agatha? I don't get it. Eleanor easily sleeps topless (naked?) with Agatha, but the supposedly-slut friend started with wearing a shirt and even asked permission first. What is going on? It's like they're swapped around.

The renders are great, but the writing of Eleanor is really confusing, and not in a good way.

Eleanor sleeping topless is supposed to highlight how comfortable she is in her friend's presence. Especially when drunk, and having just danced in her underwear. We wanted to emphasise a shift in how Eleanor behaves once she is away from her parents influence and is around friends - she swears more, she's sarcastic and not as prude as she seems.

Agatha asking to remove her top is meant to be a first hint that she's not quite as sure of herself sexually as she lets on... a theme which will be explored in future Episodes if Agatha remains in Eleanor's life in your game. But thanks for the suggestion, we'll update that scene so that Eleanor removes her top, just to make it clearer!

It's important to remember that we're still updating the game over the next few days. There are a couple of scenes we took out temporarily because they weren't quite ready for prime-time. One of which is choosing to wear the g-string. Eleanor wears the sweater because she's still within her mother's influence, but if you decide to, the skimpy underwear is a first step away from that towards her eventual change in character.

Just so it's a little clearer, High Life is not an all-female cast. Eleanor's only just starting to take real notice of boys, and we meet two she can potentially fuck in this Episode. We haven't met her father and brother yet.

Eleanor will take dick if you want her to, and as you saw from the scene in the nightclub, events aren't always shown from her point of view. If you want her to be the type of girl that has anal sex with hot but emotionally empty boys, you can.

I think the confusion to me is that Eleanor being prude is shown a lot during the inner monologue, and not necessarily just her interaction with her mom. So it's not like she's prude when with mom and then not-prude when with friend. It's her being prude when thinking to herself with nobody's influence as if it really is her own personality. This is also further supported with things like making a big deal about going into the bathroom when Izzy was taking a shower. She felt it weird to herself, then couldn't bring to talk about it with mom, and then talked about it with Agatha. In all 3 instances, she acted prude about that event. Same thing about her wearing bikini. So there are quite a few moments where it's pretty clear that she really is prude, and not enough events to counter that thought.

If the intention is indeed for her to act one way when with her mom, and then acting differently when with someone else, or at the very least her having serious second thoughts about her feelings, I feel that it needs to be shown more clearly and more importantly, consistently.

I understand you might run out of time, but I think it's important to cut the end-bit if things needed to be cut so things will stay cohesive rather than cutting something in the middle that would leave holes in-between.

Keep up the work and I hope next update would be even more improved.
