Beautiful dress, original geometric "print". It looks great !
The atmosphere is so warm and pleasant.
You did a great job with the light, the borders are very clear and distinct. Gorgeous !
Beautiful and romantic !
P.S.
They won't let her home, or she lost her keys...)
is waiting for me to come and get it, do not make it wait, thanks as always for the comment, which tries to understand our point of view and which is given by observing the details

How long does it take for you to render such an image?
How long does it take for you to render such an image?
I don't know which image you are referring to, but it depends a lot on the hardware you have available, you can hide what you don't need, but the hardware makes the difference, whoever has a 3090 takes a few minutes for me depending on the settings a few hours

Was reffering to Cosmo's image. A few hours on just 1 image? damn i appreciate fan artists more now :) Do you mind me asking a question? Are CPU and RAM important aswell in rendering or is it just mostly the GPU. Like does hyper threading on a CPU matter or the numer of cores of the ghz or with your RAM does the memory size help more or is the speed of the RAM.

it depends on how much vram your video card has, it depends on how many details, environment, characters ... lights etc .. you use, if you go beyond your vram, then it works the cpu, I think a balanced system is the best, but seen the prices are difficult to afford, then it always depends on the work you do, you asked Cosmok the question, I apologize for having answered, he will answer you

The brief answer provided by psyco75 is better than what I could have written.

I will just add:
I have a good graphics card, so the render time itself can be between perhaps 10 minutes and 90 minutes, only.
But what can take even a couple of hours (or more) is the preparation of the scene for render.
Composition, surface materials, lights, d-force simulation, posing of the models, adjusting of every finger bend, and frequently, toe positions so that they fit within the shoes, etc, etc...
And then you view the scene in iray, and you see things that can be improved, so you are back to readjustment.
I need to stop now, just thinking about it is giving me a headache.
In the next few days I will do a render that takes a relatively short time to do.
But here are a couple that took hours to complete. In particular, the render time was long because of many lights and reflections.

And here is the example of a quick render, approx. 35 minutes to create.

beautiful Cosmok!
great work!

Any chance on reveleing some of your secrets?
I just got a brand new pc i5 11th gen nvida GEforce RTX 4Gb, 8 GB ram and would like to experiment with DAZ
So what do you recomend should be the steps to get at least half good renders?
Have a little experience with PS and I understand some basic 3d concepts and basic lightring and when I do not know I try to research answers.
Issue is that there is so much out there that is easy to get lost o_O
So any A-B-C will be much appreciated.

start with this guy, watch a lot of videos, (thundorn)

its hard to explain everything to do. so try some stuff first, show what you come up with and then ask for specific help, not just "make me good" and people will be able to give you a hand from there.

wil follw your advise and hopefuly in a few days I can show some progress

Its a challenge for sure, but worth it in the end. trial and error. just keep at it!

I will add, take it one step at a time.
1 get a model on screen,
2 try poses
3 try outfits
4 try lighting (hard bit)
5 try doing all that in an environment
that will be lots to start with!

All good advice from Llamamann.
Some months ago I have already replied to a very similar question asked by another person. I will see if I can find that post.

Prepare to spend a fair bit of time learning the basics, take it one step at a time, pay attention to detail.
And before long you will be looking at my renders and noticing lots of issues.
