I tried the new version, it's pretty good, I like the new paths. I do think the endings are still pretty abrupt and you get few new images as payoff. That was an issue in the original game as well, after all the build up you want to see more of the girl. Turning it into a non-sex game does not strike me as being true to the underlying layer of eroticism that present throughout the story, it'd feel wrong to build up to nothing.

I also disagree with the poster who said the cousin sister should not have sex with the MC, life/psychology is pretty complicated. I think that's one of the more powerful threads in Watchmen, that sometimes the unthinkable does happen. People are complicated. The mother in Watchmen just wanted to move on and take the power back, not be famous for being a victim for the rest of her life. So she fucked a man who raped her years earlier when he came to beg forgiveness. And it's a very powerful moment for her daughter when she understands and accepts this about her mother, even though it shattered her feminist ideals.

I'm not saying this has to be Watchmen level, that's impossible. I'm just saying don't have a judgmental outlook, our ideologies rarely account for human complexity.

I never said cousin sister should not have sex with MC, you should read more carefully before making false assumptions, I said it is to me, personally a turn off because not only they're related, their loved ones broke their trust by raping them so from the girl's perspective, it just does not seem to me that she'd just forgive and trust him that early after she almost killed him due to her anger, let alone fuck him, it just seems as there's sex just for the sake of having sex, like most pornography plots, no actual build up to it, like maybe take your time first building the two character's relationship back before further developing the plot into them being sexually attracted towards each other if you want to take that route.

1. These are not exactly endings - these are points where routes start. Basically, you see the neames of the routes at the ending screen. It's just the beginning of a long path in their relationships, so there can be just a few outcome right now.

2. We are glad that you understood and accepted the idea of distancing from the porn games. We concider the erotic component to be importnat, but not leading.

3. Of course, Natalie is going to have sex with Jack, but it's not going to happen fast. Yes, it still will be within two or three weeks, but these weeks will be rich on different situations which will nurture her sympathy to her cousin (or other reasons which can also end the story in the bed).

Unlike some I liked the original both in story and its art style. There are some bad english moments and I won't throw praises just yet but even based on what I've seen so far bravo, maybe Blizzard should check this out for ideas on how to make a proper remake ;-)
What's intriguing to me is the protagonist/antagonist (depending on how you look at him) from psychological point of view and given the circumstances. It's not unusual for ppl used to social interactions upon being left alone with no one for extended period of time to antropomorphize things or "produce" imaginary company to supplement the need and not go insane. No wonder he did just that and chose pre-trauma version of his causin as a host (for comfort and guilt wanting to apologize) but the fact that there is also Asuna and Yorick-the-skull-bro making so 3 of such creations is what makes me wonder.
Considering it's not purely related to getting shot in the eye and brain damaged, him being psychic or some magical mcguffin or island gods etc. involved, he has some interesting mental issues like split personality possibly which triggered the event. Whispers, voices, phantoms, stress all doesn't mean shit still, you chose to listen, let urself to give in but I at can at least imagine why it happened.

Where are we at development-wise? If we pay, do we get a longer version ATM or is it mostly to support y'all while you develop it? No worries either way, I'm just curious and I like the work enough paying isn't out of the question.

Well... at the moment, it's just to support us. Backers are also going to have some extra content (which was stolen and lies here anyway). Now we are going to make some more extra benefits, and if we hit 300$ per month on Patreon, we'll launch an extended and frequently expanding version for our backers. That's how it's going to work.

Strangely, devs don't mention 1.3.2 on Patreon anywhere in public posts.

They clearly say that the version on itch.io is only a demo and nude mode can no longer be purchased on itch.io.

As per this post:

, nude mode is available to $5 patrons.

I've no idea which post is the $5 patron release of TDL 1.3.whatever, but if there's any patron that's willing to share, please do ;-)

So... is this dead, only planned as all ages, or what the hell is up with it? I still find it depressing, that the only halfway decent execution of this idea came from marble syrup and since then nobody even completed any of the games which followed that.

Personally, If this one is only planned as an "all ages" game, now I don't think I will care much about it.

The big draw to me is the contrast between morality and ethics, shifting from a civilized "normal" world to an abandoned island with very different rules and laws to it. If you get rid of all of these interesting aspects. Good luck to you! But that makes my interest in it more or less fade completely.
