Review for Genex Love (Part 1)
Overall 3/5. This is not a story, rather a sandbox of the author's many different whims and fantasies, with writing not good enough to make them coherent, which results in a directionless and sometimes nonsense story. If you're looking for a simple hero fantasy, this is serviceable, however, if you're interested in the gameplay aspects, absolutely avoid this game.
Story 2.5/5. Starts of strong, theming with ambition and potential, however more problems with the writing show up as you go. Some of it:
Directionless Story: Done with Part 1 and there is still no goal for this story
Powers: MCs powers are yet to be fully defined, it's dependent on plot convenience
Random Scenes: So many scenes / events don't add anything to the plot, they are just there to fulfill some sort of fantasy and some don't even make sense
MC's Personality: From shy, confident, selfish, selfless, heroic to rapey, it just bounces around even if you're just focusing on 1 route
Characters and relationship 3/5. You start of with around 7 characters and there are at least 18 by the end, this results shallow and poorly defined characters. Relationships are weak as well with most love interest (LI) falling in love with your "hero aspects" and not much else. It also takes a lot of time before an LIs get with you, not because of long and well developed relationship, rather that there are just so many LIs that it just takes a lot of time to go through them
Gameplay 1.5/5. Start of with basic management and combat with more getting added as you play. None of them are good or well designed it might be fun and fulfilling at first but by the end its unrewarding, boring, and repetitive
Visuals 4.5/5. Definitely above the rest in its group, with lots of good looking characters and renders. Considering the difficulty, the action scenes don't look as good
Adult Content 4/5. There is quite a lot with many different flavors mostly on the teasing side
The Ending 1/5.
