VN - Ren'Py - A Couple's Duet of Love & Lust [v0.12.4] [King B]

OK came back to see if paths are getting filled out..nope. So my recent update is to simply change this games name from "A Couples Duet of Love and Lust" to..."BBC cucks you", thats it. There really isn't anything else in this of worth.

UPDATE FOR MORE RECENT UPDATES - The original review still is accurate for the beginning states. BUT - for the past updates, 4 or so, this game has gone full cuck and full cuck only. All other paths are dead ends, and the DEV has shown that this is the only path that means anything. So BBC (ya it has to be that) continually and for forever...bangs the wife. Now bareback, oppss, no condoms (so now its cuck the hubby with a preggo) and have him eating the spunk out of her...ya..yippee. If you are a fan of that, this is your game. Otherwise, run away.

Really found this hard to review. So the basic stuff first: 4 stars...but I didn't personally like how it plays out, although not a fan of cuck stuff, this has potential as the female protagonist.

Graphics - great, I really like this style of art

Animations - a few, done well, sex scenes were pretty well done

Time- as of 0.4.7 decent couple of hours if you run through different paths and use the tab button to skip text you have already seen.

Game play - rather confusing, the walkthrough guide pdf is ok, but difficult to follow, and some pretty minor things can lock you out of a entire path. Some of the responses, and replies that send you down another path, don't really match the conversation, so its not intuitive. You pretty much have to dig into the guide and go back redo, back redo...until you get the path you want. Its not a natural path if you are not on a cuck path.

Would be much better with an ability to modify a path within the game instead of wanting a cheat. i.e. - this choice will block you from XX path, choice wisely, or the grayed out choice is for another path that takes you hear...clickable but you are warned your are diverging from a particular path.

As for the idea, I really like female protagonist games, this is a 50/50 type.

Now my tastes - Playing the female protagonist and doing slutty things, or even cucking the husband is fine, especially if he is a dick or cheater, but
this game puts you in both their heads and internal conversations and thoughts...and that puts you into the cuck situation of the male MC. I played many different paths, the romance, the cheater the reluctant cuck etc.

Why does it always have to be a big black guy? Is that the industry standard...that IT ALWAYS HAS TO BE SOME BBC that a cheating wife fucks? Geez mister scary eyebrows dude. If it is all the white dudes need to go on strike. Fuck put a Big Native American in there for a change, or god forbid a white dude. I would actually appreciate a black dude getting cucked and having a small dick for a change...now that would be different. Fucking stereotypes.

Personal viewpoint, it would be better to block you out of one path and only play one person at a time to help with the immersion. i.e. just play as the wife, you can direct if the hubby will cheat or not etc, but no internal monologue or major decisions from his viewpoint. Vice Versa if just playing the guy, major path decisions can be made for the wife, but her as a MC should be locked. It too much to try and play one role as a slutty hotwife, then go over and all of a sudden you are a conflicted torn, angry, cuck. My pervert brain doesn't work like that.

My review is based off the graphics, game play and work the Dev has put in. My personal taste is my own, cuck or NTR from the male MC POV is not my thing. Messing with a cheating husband and having your Female MC fuck the whole town....now that is fun.

TL;DR: 3.5 Stars for choices that do not allow for altering your path once started or skipping content; a weak, poorly developed female lead (the wife, Natalie); sometimes unlikable characters (path dependent); ridiculous-sized dicks; and an odd comic-book artistic style choice; Weak faithful path (and getting worse). Very difficult to navigate without a walkthrough. Otherwise, a terrific visual novel! THIS IS AN INTERRACIAL CUCKOLD GAME. Save yourself the heartache if that is not your thing.

A Couple's Duet of Love & Lust is unique amongst a large number of wannabe visual novels (VN) about an adventurous married couple. With five main paths (nearly all of them surround the BBC fetish) this game's reach is ambitious. It falls short of representing a happy couple enjoying hot sex scenes and engaging in adventurous activities. This game targets players who prefer cheating, hotwife, and BBC cuckolding fetishes. No doubt, it is sure to be a winner for anyone interested in those kinks.

While there are paths for random cheating, sharing, hotwife, being seduced by an old man, and voyeurism, only the BBC cuckold path receives the most attention and is fully developed. Most paths contain acceptable stories and fun renders to provide visual support. This game handles each of those situations better than nearly all other games in the genre, with maturity and sexual heat that might make you happy to choose a path you normally would not. (Go ahead! The cheating wife can be really hot!)

And the writing is HOT! The excellent story describes each path. The sexy descriptions are worthy of above-average traditional adult novels and erotica. It is important to note that, due to the early access to a game in development, not all paths are fully developed or have satisfying content for every user.

My major critique of this VN is the hidden and difficult nature of each path. The difference between paths is unclear. The choices do not lead to a logical path. For example, the couple decides to watch porn together on one path. The MC must choose the type of porn to watch in order to open up the exhibitionist path. There are really no clues as to why. The greatest improvement the developer can make is to write a story that more overtly leads to each logical path.

Consequences of player decisions are not always sensical and equitable (Nat, despite claiming how much she loves her husband and values her marriage, cheats with the BBC and then says, fuck it, I'll do a college kid at a bar while I am at it). No going back from those decisions. While this makes a streamlined path to quickly get to some hot sex scenes, it also makes it so Nat cannot change her mind, find some sanity, learn from her remorse, and go back to being a loving wife and couple. (Seriously, how hard is it to just include an option for her to go home to her husband?!) On the other hand, if you are on the reluctant path Nat is given the opportunity to correct her mistakes and stay with Nathan in a loving relationship.

I am most thankful for the loving couple path. It stays true to its name by allowing the couple to experiment with sharing, flirting, exhibitionism, and other nice kinks without destroying the marital bond and love for each other. It does not water down the content; many adult VNs make this route boring and show little content. Although this is the VN's weakest path, the story and art supply a realistic and sexy view of what it might look like in a sexually mature relationship where nothing can alter their love for each other!

Unfortunately, everyone but the husband has a monster cock that would literally kill a man IF they had the blood to even get a proper erection. Lastly, it would be nice to play a VN that does not portray women as mindless slaves to BBC, not to mention most women could never handle these dino-dicks (without major reconstructive surgery afterward). Natalie's character is poorly developed. Most of the story surrounds the husband, the BBC, and a female instigator. The wife is left with the simple desire to need more from her lover. And once the action starts, she is completely mindless and fucks without cause or need (similar to another VN where the wife fucks anything that walks).

Lastly, the focus of this visual novel, the BBC bull. He is written stereotypically and to a fault. He is a predatory ass who records his conquests and posts them online without permission. Thankfully, this is addressed in the game and the reader has the option on how to deal with it. There must be some balance between wanting a bull who cares for the woman he is with without developing lasting feelings. This is not a problem for this bull. He is a player and is always searching for his next conquest for the sake of his own entertainment. I don't find this character attractive or redeemable in real life and certainly don't prefer to see him in a game. However, this is likely to be the biggest draw for players to this game.

So, while the game is slanted towards interracial cuckoldry, there are other, less developed avenues to play and enjoy. Perhaps this will change as the game progresses in development. It will be interesting to see where this couple goes given the author's strong ability to write a compelling story.

This here is a gem of a game!! The story got me engaged from the beginning. While the beginning introduction art seems lacking but very soon the art takes a big jump that looks sexy as hell!! And boy the animations, what can I say, it's just brilliantly well done. In most of the games I have noticed graphics looks brilliant, but animation is a standard single pose animation, but in this game the pace of animation builds up slowly and feels genuine and real. I love the build up of the story and I really hope more intricate focus goes into the details when sex scenes come up, like drooling when giving a sloppy blow job, or hard sex having build up of cum strings.. The sex so far really comes across as wild and I really hope the creator maintains and takes things much further in this story.. Brilliant as of now! Well done mate!!

I've had to rewrite this review since i've now been able to play all the pathways on a working version of the game. When I first played this game several months ago it was terrible, crap art and no sex scenes. Since then it has drastically improved, the art work being the most notable improvement.

The pathways are somewhat limited, currently cheating, cuckold, faithful and exhibitionist are the directions in which this game goes with more of a focus on cuckold.

The pathways are more nuanced that I originally realised, there are your standard routes, cuckolding, cheating etc. However your choices also effect the character's attitudes on the various pathways, some reluctant while others are eager and vice versa.

The development of the plot is a little fast for my liking, more of a build up would have enhanced the emotional investment on my part and made any betrayals/ cuckold scenes sting just a little bit more.

However it's hard to complain as the animated sex scenes are really a cut above most other VNs out there. Sex sounds have also been added to the animations, not just added but timed perfectly with the animation so that when flesh slaps on flesh that's exactly what you hear and see.

The Dev has tried to make this a game with consequences, taking the big decisions out of your hands i.e. if you watch you're wife being groped by the pervy landlord, later when she asks how you'd feel about her playing outside the marriage the answer is an automatic yes.
I don't quite approve of this choice/ pathway development because even though you may like to see men flirting with your attractive wife you wouldn't necessarily want her to visit the local pet shop and play with every python she can get her hands on.

Update - Since the most recent update you are given choices before big decisions as you would find IRL.

To sum up this game has greatly improved with the updates. I'd like to see a sharing perspective added to the game, not everyone is a hardcore cuckold that wants to taste other men's cum on his wife's lips. The animations are top notch, I'd like to see the sex scenes between the MCs get a little hotter as they delve into this new lusty life.

Decent game, fair few fap opportunities.

A little gem of a game with something for everyone. Mostly geared towards NTR and NTRS (netorase), I think, but with a nice vanilla path as well.

Visuals: Let's start with the most contentious part of the game. The art won't be for everyone, but it is enough for me. The dev admitted that he didn't know anything about rendering and didn't have the hardware for it, so the first version looked on the rough side, but as time went on, you can definitely see he got better at it and the visuals improved while keeping the distinct style. It grew on me and definitely did not stand in the way of enjoying the game. In fact, I like it. Gives the game a bit more character. One star.

Gameplay: A surprising amount of choices that all affect various triggers, the effect of which you can see at any time in game by pressing the Stats button. These stat combinations affect what route you get on and what scenes you see, as you'd expect. I like flexibility and being able to see what the game has, so I make a lot of saves for various points. Don't think I've had this many saves for a game this early in development before, which is a good thing and leads to the next part: the game has a lot of routes. Several, I reckon, with different ways of getting on them. I've only played the NTRS and vanilla, but they were both pretty well done. What's interesting is that vanilla path, usually the red headed stepchild of these games, adds exhibitionism play to keep it from being dry and boring. That or some breeding fantasies, I think. Either way, you can play the way you want and get somewhere you'll enjoy being at. One star.

Writing: The star of the show. You know the author has experience in writing erotica. It's not dry or overly verbose, the plot moves at a good pace no matter what route you're on and you can tell there's a clear plan where the dev wants to take you. The character interactions are a joy. I particularly loved the NTRS path. The wife is hesitant, but curious. The husband is supportive. The main "bull" is not coercive. No blackmail, no humiliation unless you specifically want it. You can preserve the love between the husband and wife and really get the feeling that they're having fun together without it turning into unwanted NTR. I love that. One star.

Characters: Here we run into my first complaints, but also compliments. The compliments are about the main couple: they act like real people. Again, mainly about NTRS path. There's desire mixed in with hesitancy from both of them. They're curious, they want it, but neither of them wants to ruin what they have. Both are completely open with one another and there's some gentle encouragement from the husband. Another thing I like is that you set the broad terms as a player and the characters function within in while still retaining some agency. The wife won't ask for permission for every little thing, she will be naughty on her own without breaking any rules the player has set, which is again something I love. Makes her feel like an actual character but also keeps the player involved. Hope to see her suggest more things to the husband and them both having fun with it.

My one complaint is about Darrel, the main "bull". He's a stereotypical fetish bait: a hulking black guy who works out before working out and has a comically large dick that in reality would rip a normal woman up and send her to the hospital to get stitches. It's the low hanging fruit of these games. It is offset by him having a personality that seems fitting to his role and yet knowing his place in the overall framework. Again on the NTRS route there's no coercion or blackmail, he's encouraging and knows when to push, but also when to stop. He's not a terrible character, but I just wish the developer would have been a tad more original. He's shown to be capable of it, so why reach for the trusty trope jar right off the bat? Leave that to the amateurs and hacks. I feel like the game could be even better if the dev added some more varied potential lovers and wasn't afraid of going off the beaten path. Maybe in the future updates? Darrel being the safe starting charater until the game expands and adds more options? One can hope. One star.

Updates: Pretty frequent (once every 2 months or so?) and the developer is active in the forums, which is a nice touch. Gives me hope for the longevity of the game. One star.

Overall a great product that is well worth your time if you're into the specific fetishes, but maybe even if you're pure vanilla, since all content is avoidable. For the latter I recommend waiting for a bit for the game to get more content before checking it out. Either way, the game is more than worth supporting, if you can. I wish luck and resiliency to the developer and can't wait for further updates!

Best NTR game out there (I am not prepared at this time to take a position on the great NTR debate but this game meets even the strictest NTR standards) presents a detailed and convincing cuckolding environment in which the MC's attitude makes all the difference for each out-of-wedlock experience.

Great pacing and development of relationships. A true variety to the pathways and very interesting, unique and sexy artwork. I am looking forward to the next update with great anticipation. I have played through this game multiple ways and multiple times already on v.3

Good writing, unique art, and an interesting story. This game feels more complete than may games that have been out for years. Didn't run into a single bug or anything that brought me out of the story. The only thing missing is more of this excellent content.

I love the game. The routes are not always easy to play, but with a little patience you can get there. The best route for me so far is the "Cheating Route". I hope we see some beautiful creampie's between Nat and Darrel in the future.

I usually hate cartoonish visual novels. But this game is a master piece. I like the storyline, ntr content, female protagonist and the temptation of the situations she engaged in.

This game needs attention. This developer needs motivation. Not only delivering a good game he also delivering it on time unlike some others. Patrons should support these kind of promising developers instead of milking devs.

Fantastic new addition to the "couple opening up their marriage" genre! The artwork threw me off at first, but now it's grown on me. A big strength of this game is the dialogues and three distinct routes, which are fully-fleshed out and well-paced. Looking forward to this curvy wife getting some action!

Five Stars, not because it is the perfect game but because it is the best in the cheat/ntr category there is currently. I understand the try comic style visuals but they could improve and i would also love to have a state of the art visuals. But again I get the context and it must be a lot of work. Furthermore the reason for the five star rating is that it is one of the few where dialogs are not completely asinine and create some sort of a loaded atmosphere. Thanl you for that and please continue im sure the game will get better with expirirence you gain....

Good. The story progresses at a nice pace and has characters to make things more interesting. The scenes are hot and well written. The visual are good imo. The good things about this is that it doesn't force you into a single POV. If you're interested in the tas and/or premise give it a try.

A beautiful branching story with surprising good elements. The story is excellent but a bit more polishing can take it to the next level.

The only problem that I find is that the background doest go with the art style.
It's a unique art style but the background contrasts it.

Your art style need a bit improvement , like an extra line here and there .

- The variety of choices, which is big for me, because I prefer the type of ntr where the guy isn't into it (idk what it's called), and it seems like I can take that path!
- Dialogue is nice to read and does a good job in setting up the story.
What could use improvement:
- Pacing of the game seems a tad to quick, obviously this may change as you add more content, but at this pace the finished product will either be very short, or have an unsatisfying storyline.
- The art style (in my opinion) is a little strange. I'm not an artist or anything, but the art style is a little jarring, although I think I can get used to it.
Overall, good work! I hope you deeply consider the pacing as a factor.

CDLL and its developer, King B, has lived up to the potential seen from the game's first release and has delivered a fun and engrossing VN. The skill of the developer on a number of fronts has continued to improve and the content in the game has grown. Quite simply, the current version is a massive improvement over its first iteration.

The most evident is the art. The game now employs a crisper linework in its art. This allows for finer details and makes the game look at lot less amateurish and cartoonish. In my opinion, it is a much needed and welcome improvement to the game. The developer should revisit the earlier segments of the game to bring the old art to be more in-line with the new style of the rest of the game. Furthermore, the characters look (and act) distinctive from one another. From the art alone, there's no chance a player would confuse the characters in this game versus a lot of other VNs that uses the same assets to one another or using generic (and boring) looking characters.

The game's story is also worthy of note. As expected, it does not deviate too much from the typical tropes found in many adult visual novels, but it is nonetheless a fun ride. Tried and true, but it's written quite well to deliver the tale it wants to tell. There are some hiccups with its presentation and some grammatical issues but they are mostly benign. In addition, there are numerous choices one can make in the game that will become impactful to the story as a player goes through the game.

How the story unfolds and how the different routes arrive at certain shared moments in the story are quite vast and amusing to read. The journey to those checkpoints can be wildly different depending on the choices made by the player. Will the MC and the wife have a loving and trusting relationship while exploring newfound sexual kinks; or, will it be filled with lies, animosity, and betrayal? There are numerous permutations one can discover and, thankfully, it's not simply a binary choice leading to one of two outcomes or routes. Rather, those decisions can generate several paths a player can follow. This allows for further replayability if a player wishes to explore them.

On a separate note, @King B does a good job keeping his patrons in the loop. The developer appears quite communicative on his Patreon and offers updates and sneak peeks on the progression of the game. He is also active in the game's thread on F95 and has responded to issues and answered questions posed by various users. This is the kind of behavior that should be the norm and what more users like to see. Good deal on that front.

In conclusion, this is a good VN to play through (if you're into the types of stories and kinks the game wants to explore). The story is well-written for what it is and contains decent art and alluring situations with the right amount of pacing. Surprisingly, it doesn't weigh all that much compared to rather bloated sizes of other similar games. I recommend more people to give this a game a try. Cheers and have fun!

Version Reviewed -- v1.0 (First Release)

A Couple's Duet of Love & Lust, henceforth CDLL, by @King B follows the story of a couple that moves into a new neighborhood and how their relationship evolves between each other and with those they encounter. As expected of a first release, there isn't much here at present and about half the tags listed shouldn't be applied to it per F95's rules. Much of the (planned) content simply do not exist in any form in this version of the game.

However, this is a solid first iteration of CDLL. It does a good job of introducing players to several characters including the two controllable halves that form the couple central to the story. In addition, the plot of the game moves right along at a decent pace with a few scenes or turning points already incorporated into it. The writing isn't spectacular and needs a little more "TLC" to squash the spelling and grammatical mistakes, but it's adequate enough to get the job done.

Unfortunately, it's very evident that the game is following tired, clichéd tropes for its stereotypical characters and predictable plotlines; though, that's not necessarily a bad thing per se. Hopefully there will be a few surprises along the way -- noting the use of a basic stat system that's in place. The art for CDLL seems to be images found in the wild that's been through a filter and traced over; thus, it won't be everyone's cup of tea. Many of the backgrounds have placeholder art at this time. I'll leave the judgment regarding the art at your discretion.

Overall, version 1.0 (First Release) of CDLL is decent enough, and shows potential and promise, but don't expect innovative gameplay or a masterpiece in its storytelling. We'll see how the developer, King B, will progress from here. If you're curious, then I say give the game a try since the file size for it is still quite small.
