VN - Ren'Py - Completed - A Day by the Sea [v1.01] [PurplePanties]

TLDR: This short VN hits the sex quickly and has a good variety of sex activities, but is held back by boring writing and non-animated scenes despite using Illusion as the renderer. If you enjoy Illusion/Koikatsu visuals A Day by the Sea does not add anything significant to that starting point.

Breakdown:
+ There is a healthy variety of sex activities, including (semi-consentual?) sleep sex, consentual sex, and rape.
- The skeletal and disjointed story is forgivable as an excuse for sex scenes. Unfortunately the writing during those scenes consists of brief and uninteresting description of physical events. Good writing should paint colorful characters, interesting situations, and vivid feelings for the audience. This does not qualify.
- The main girl's face is comical or horrifying, maybe both.

Conclusion: Overall this is the game equivalent of a slice of white bread with a square of butter: Nothing wrong with it, but not interesting or high quality.

Short and sweet game. I'm giving it 4 and not 5 just because I feel like the storytelling missed 1 step to fully and properly explain what was going on making sense of it (in a fantasy sense of course). Other than that the game is pretty good, nice scenes with choices that matter so you can do another short playthrough to change things around a bit and experience something a bit different.

Short traditional VN with three and a half endings. Despite the game would be much better with more final outcomes, some choices do matter in this game providing multiple arcs (and scenes) depending on your character's actions.

The CGs are pretty generic without anything outstanding (well, maybe except for a chubby Koikatsu model).

The plot is a bit off and confusing, but that doesn't really matter for such 15-30-min porn novel. From the storytelling side, the good thing is that the scenes and their description are rather hot.

In short, Excellent for the time invested.
