Ren'Py - A Family Venture [v0.09 v3 Alpha] [WillTylor]

It would be an impossible task to manage to describe just how repetitive this game is, but I'll try.
In movies when they describe events that occur often but is still relevant to the story they do an introduction of the protagonist doing the things then repeat them a few times and perhaps adding "a few weeks later"
This game however does neither of those things.

I followed the walkthrough like a slave, one event refuse to trigger!
I spent a few hours on it as of now and the only reason to why I downloaded it in the first place was to see if it actually contained some pregnancy, but I can't muster! Even the walkthrough at week six start to spam "MC bed, memes (advance time)" Unfortunately it's the most boring game I ever played on here for a great while and I can't understand the high ratings of the game at all!

The writing is alright enough and the renders are pretty good, but it suffers from the usual sandbox game hang ups. I hate clicking around a map and I hate having to think overly much about relationship points or what time of day it is. Like I keep saying it's all just pointless busywork.

It's a shame because I generally like what I've seen here and if you don't share my general distaste for sandbox style games this is probably worth a gander, but it just ain't my cup o' tea.

Man i found this boring as fuck, story dident do much for me and couldent even care less about the NTR stuff it was just boring.
Im so tierd of kinetic novels hiding behind a sandbox trying to not show off as being kinetic, then game constantly forces you to follow the kinetic set storyline where girls are forced on you and your forced to watch all kind of shit with the mother which i found so extremly ugly that it became a constant turn-off and barely even playable.

Sandbox is also just a grind and there to waste more of your time clicking around, quests are tied together so you cant really skip anything or you wont progress which leaves 0 freedom and 0 choices when it comes to who you fuck.
Its also very repetitive where you just do the same shit over and over, i just dont find that fun what so ever.

MC also pushes for alot of lesbian shit that i dont really care about either so it just keeps lowering the value of the game, even more so since you dont have any choices in anything that goes on.

As for virgins, its very shitty they are all using dildos so you can forget about any kind of deflowering which makes for very boring virgin scenes which are just like any other standard scene, this is an adult novel so to me its a big flaw when a creator dosent allow for the hymen since its the only thing that can ever prove that the girl has never had sex with anyone, even a 2$ prostitute working for years can claim to be a virgin and you will never be able to tell, since no one not even a doc can tell if someone is a virgin or not when hymen is gone.

As for the NTR i found it lacking as well, same for relationship build-ups, just dident find anything fun or even remotely interresting.

Alot arent even animations.....its picture to picture shit and has nothing to do with being animated and those scenes that are animated arent that good either and pretty short on top of that.

Alot of shit is just forced on you since you cant skip quests, pretty much a mindless fuckfest game just very very drawn out due to grinds and sandbox.

Boring, repetitive, grind, shitload of clicking, kinetic questlines that you cant skip, you get get the idea, shitty hint system that tells you what your supposed to do but then when you do it nothing happens so your left with guessing as to what quest you need to do before you can progress the one you wanted to do.

Considering this is more then 5 years old and it still barely has any sex scenes, like 1 with youngest sister, 5 with older, 1 with mother, 0 with aunt, 0 with mandy, its really not much is it.

Boring story.

Get up, eat breakfast, goto school part of the day, make deliveries on your moped, eat supper. Wash/Rinse/Repeat
I've been playing an hour or so and that's all there is....mostly....
After you get home from deliveries, there is only 1 time slot to do anything.....

I think you can disable ntr but it doesn't matter as it's not really avoidable no matter what.

There haven't been too terribly many content updates given that it was released about 5 1/2 years ago.

I realize there is some more content but I'm not big on sharing my Li's in a story so didn't see the ntr content other than what little bit that was forced.

I have been playing since the first drop. I must say each update the game gets better and the quality has increased ten fold. I absolutely love it. I could do without the NTR but it don't hurt cause it can be avoided easily.

I'm not attracted to weird looking lolis sisters/cousins and skinny assed moms/aunts and neither do I find the images to be fappable. I like the story it is worth 2 stars just for the that because it has slow corruption, blackmail, debt and NTR which make a good combination but otherwise I find the gameplay grindy and extremely boring, even the NTR is boring and that says a lot about this game. Sandbox is even worse with just 4/5 locations but this game does not need to be sandbox, it makes no difference. The animation is passable, a lot of 2 second clips on loop but some pretty good ones too. At 5 years and still going, it's a VN that I'm striking off my list, never gonna bother downloading this again.

I quite like this one. The character models are ''different' in a nice way. There's a bit of a story to explain away the various interactions. You can quite easily avoid a lot of the sort of content that you don't want to see but it appears to be too easy to inadvertently 'avoid' the things you are interested in as well.

I knocked it down to 4 stars because it's a sandbox and, like all sandboxes before it and most probably all those to come, most of the time you have no clue what the heck you're supposed to be doing in order to advance. Even with the help of the hints, cheats, etc. you go round in circles doing the same thing over and over hoping that this time it'll be different.

There's something wrong with the progression, the mother is happy to give him handjobs and even blowjobs some days but won't talk to him at school or at home on others. It's all a bit strange and sometimes quite frustrating, but still fun to play.

sex scenes animated and very realistic. Casino is a nice way to
make some quick money, would have liked to have seen the slot
machines in the background be playable like the Roulette
and Black Jack tables. The sandbox element is also nice.

Oh dear, what a time waster and mouse killer.
How to say that politely, the general plot - if that can be called as such, starts off with a decent idea to get things rolling, if you survive the horrendous, unfunny introduction that is. Unfortunately the only thing that comes out of it is a grindfest, spiced up with unfunny humor attempts and lame self awareness jokes. If your older than 25, the humour is probably not for you. The presentation is great if you're into that style, if not it propably doesn't do much for you, somewhere between bad and mediocre. The quests seem to be disconnected from each other and you can do them pretty much any order you want to, but there are certain dependencies and illogical reactions from the npcs. The latter is somewhat a red line throughout the piece, the game doesn't really acknoledge the NPC stat buildups or previous events, e.g. you came to almost fucking a character in one event chain, but on another she is really uncomfortable to strip down, or do the same thing that happened the night before and so on. Apart from beeing more or less a clicker game you grind through, there are story events happening, which are making the hole you want to dig out even deeper and grindy for you, to the point that starts to get really annoying. That mechanic is partly used to get more girls in your reach, but the way it's done and storywise integrated is just unispired and makes you wanna rage quit. A drink while playing is recommended, improves the jokes as well, when intoxicated. The buildup is very, very, very slow and you can easily bring yourself into a situation where you got stuck doing the same stuff again and again for days, wishing that you could skip days, which you can't btw. Talking about boreout, half of the NPCs are annoying, the other half a bit boring and you as the MC are of course the man of the house, riding that incest game cliche like a dead horse.

- you can choose to not have that NTR crap in your playthrough, making it even more annoying
con:
- the game gives a crap and tries to pick up that BS in situations later on, instead of leaving you alone, working your ass off, for characters you don't really care about

Tip:
Don't get excited about the submissive status, it does he thing affection should do instead, NPCs being more open to listen to the MCs suggestions.

If you like grinding your ass off, for some not that great xxx-scenes , lame jokes and annoying text glue, let's call it story, go for it, but I suggest you better look elsewhere. There are much better hardcore grinding games out there, one star is pretty generous.

Played it for two days. Got the mom events done till it got to risky, according to the game quest descriptions, got the sisters photo shoots, aunty is the maid done, got the point where that blackmailing FBI-wench wanted to move it - there, you've done it, rage quit, want my live time back.

Playing this game from more or less full NTR it's a lot of fun. I quite like that the MC himself still gets action and even gets to join in on the scenes making them even hotter for someone who enjoys that type of genre of porn.
Love seeing Matt more and more come into the household and gaining dominance over all the girls. Hoping that Mandy will be up soon for Matt and eventually all the girls.
Other than that I think the renders are great, story is pretty fun as well cause it makes for some interesting scenarios. The best part is definitely the dialogue with mix of in-head-thoughts and spoken where you get to see what the characters think. The full NTR dialogue is superb as well!

I like all the girls so far, they're all unique and cute/hot in their own ways.

The only criticism I really have is that the way you traversal through rooms can feel a bit annoying and lead to a lot of clicking.

Looking forward to future updates a lot.

''squirting'' in every sex scene is this 2010? XD anorexic girls, weird body positions.. the sex sounds are mostly pretty good (except acoustics are sometimes off but it's still hot).. Dialogue is decent but not immersive enough.. and not a fan of the boy model (too feminine).. overall story is very meh but not bad, animations are good.. I want to give it 2.5 stars

I am removing a star because I couldn't complete the game because of a game breaking bug the move will never try to relief herself in the bedroom only get the aunt workout scenes and their shared yoga scenes for 2 hrs straight no amount of fast forwarding will fix it, so I guess if this game ever become available on steam I will purchase with hopes of bugs fixing because was a great game, but a bug stops my completion.
Edit: not gaming breaking bug when building sexual frustration. Prevent Jacky from getting herself off at school, in the bathroom, and in the bedroom all in one day. If this game comes to steam, the incest plot may hurt sales, and if the characters could be aged up would most definitely offset any backlash.

Its a sandbox game where there is a NTR and loyalty path, you choose what you get.
Basically it involves visiting places in household and town.
There is some grinding which is okay if its your first time in the game, if you wanna speed things up theres cheats on the phone.
Theres also repeatable sex scenes and the events that come every week.
How you progress the story is by looking by events on the phone which are easy enough to follow. Theres all kinds of kinks and the game gets very hot and interesting.

Now if i have to rate story i'd say 4.5/5.
The story isnt exactly like other VN in depth.
The story speaks for itself by the things you do through the events.
And its pretty fun one.

The aninations are excellent 5/5 .

Gameplay 4/5.

If new players are reading this but in doubt, i'd say you definitely have to try it for yourself.

The game has a fairly good structure, I didn't encounter any problems such as crashes or lag, nor the classic errors of other Ren'Py games, the only small problem is the time that doesn't pass after the scenes at school (I think after starting the elections) and a small repetition of the elections quest, which I don't know why I had to start it twice, everything else is ok.

Speaking of the characters I can say that they are so-so, I honestly really appreciated the aesthetics of Jacky and Lauren, an aesthetic that stands out from other characters in other games, so they make themselves remembered.
The rest of the characters unfortunately seemed anonymous to me (aesthetics).

The game is definitely repetitive but it's a repetition that didn't bother me too much.

For the NTR scenes I wouldn't know how to rate the game.
They are optional scenes, so you can easily avoid them.
Personally I'm not a fan but neither one who avoids NTR scenes, in some games they are well done, here I honestly always opted for the layalty route. I appreciate that they are not mandatory, but at the same time it is a route that is part of the game, so it is right to also consider those scenes.
The only NTR scenes that I was able to appreciate were the ones in the bathroom for the elections (Lauren), the worst ones for sure those with Matt, who as mentioned before is an anonymous character who leaves nothing behind.

The scenes are done quite well.
Overall I promote and recommend the game.

Well, the animations are hot, and there is plenty of content, but you will hit the wall over and over again, meaning repeating the same routine every day with maybe 1 or 2 things to do and that's it. Still needs to either be condensed or have more content added to fill in the blanks, reminds me of A country life or whatever, 24 hour day and only 3 time slots where you actually have something to progress on.

8 months updates, a lot of delays, fake loyal route forced NTR because its in the main plot, been 3 years of game and the protagonist still didnt the mom.

My advice, wait until its finished, its good game the problem is the development.

I played the 0.8v3b version and had a pleasant and fun experience. It is a nice visual novel, especially for those who like incest and family sex games. Even though I'm not fond of incest and family sex games, the fun plot and appropriate references to other incest games (big brother, milf city) made the game quite entertaining. I've added the game to my watchlist and I plan to support the developer on one of the platforms as soon as possible. Let's see what new updates will bring us.

A family venture is just great.
The story is great.
The girls and women in this game are realistic and not as exaggerated as in other games where they often have oversized tits and look like a sex doll or little 8 year old girls supposed to be 18 years old.
I find A Family Venture to be a bit like an open world game where you influence the story through decisions.
I've already played through the game 4 times and each time I made different decisions and got different results accordingly.

I'm already looking forward to future updates, because I'm very excited to see how the story continues.
