Review for A Fresh Start v0.1.2:
Overall: 3/5 - It's worth a look if your expectations in adult games aren't very high.
Story: 2/5 - Not much story but what's there is just weird. It's a super fast-paced vanilla incest story. The MC's mom and dad are divorced, dad shows up and needs $500,000 for... something, and mom agrees to help him get it (that's totally not normal and players just have to accept it). However, the whole thing is like some 13-year-old virgin's fantasy: The game starts with mom waking up the MC wearing a sheer teddy. First day at school, the teacher is dressed like a slut going to a nightclub. A girl that MC meets the first day in class flashes her tits then gives him a handjob after class. There's a robbery and a policewoman, who also happens to be a classmate at school, shows up wearing basically a slutty policewoman costume. What the actual fuck?
Writing: 3/5 - It's kind of average by adult-game standards (which isn't saying much), but the balance of writing to visuals isn't great. Things that are obvious from the visuals should be left unspoken/unwritten.
Renders: 4/5 - The renders are pretty good. Sometimes a little grainy, but generally good. Yes, you've seen the models before in other games, but they're still good.
Animations: 2/5 - Mix of jerky 2- and 3-frame type animations and some that are low framerate but not super jerky. The game definitely needs work here.
Amount of content: 3/5 - Seems about average for 6 months' worth of work.
Lewd Content: 2/5 - Talk about no build-up. I'd give a way too many spoilers to talk about it, but everything happens way too fast and it really just isn't very erotic.
Bugs: 5/5 - It's just a kinetic novel with almost no choices, so a lack of bugs should be no surprise. Strangely, some of the early content actually appears to have been designed to be part of a sandbox.
