VN - Ren'Py - Completed - A Happy Marriage [v1.0] [LazingInTheHaze]

I feel a little bad giving this a two-star review as it sets out to do a lot of things I approve of. A medium-sized cast of characters, with reasonable physical appearance, a little intrigue, and a variety of approaches to a non-monogamous relationship. Many choices, and several endings! What's not to like?

Plenty, sadly. Despite the good art design and decent sex scenes there are a lot of issues that could have been fixed. The dialogue is sometimes incomprehensible, due to poor English. I don't think it is everyone's responsibility to learn English, but if you release the game in English it shouldn't be a barrier to understanding. Sometimes the wrong characters' name appears above the wrong dialogue. Sometimes the response of the characters to the chosen dialogue option makes little sense. Sometimes you decide to do, or not to do, something, but later scenes act as if you did the opposite. It makes for a very confusing experience and by the end of the game you are a bit lost.

Furthermore, the writing is just not really interesting enough. There are sparks of something good with the corporate intrigue, or with the relationships. But these aspects eventually circle the plughole and honestly the characters are inconsistent and not that interesting. I think with some re-writing this could be a good game, but for now, two-stars.

I personally enjoyed playing this game in the beginning, despite the NTR theme, which I personally don't like. But towards the end it got too long, and a lot of NTR came in. So I personally couldn't finish the game and it was boring. As for the author, he has worked a lot, the graphics are somehow good, the sex scenes are good, and because of that, 3 stars from me. Finally this game works on 32bt.

This was a complex review for me. Not really a swinging fan, or the Hotwife genre, but I do like cheating, corruption type games, and really enjoy fem protagonists. I gave this a go,..for something different.

PROS - lots of sex, renders are really good. The Dev seems to really like high heels, stockings and it shows. Probably one of the nicest attention to high heels, stockings and feet, without contant footjobs.

Lots of characters, and different types, most are very beautiful and you really have a feeling of wanting to go down a few other paths.

CONS - you have to use the walkthrough, because most of the ending are not intiutive. Answering certain questions that most players are gonna hit, locks you into a certain path...for really no reason.

There is not a real cheating path available here, it is more like hotwife, swinging. They are all ok with things...on whatever path you go down. That is not cheating if your wife bangs 4 guys in a day, and you are ok with it. Then you turn around and bang 4 girls in a day, tell your wife and she is fine even though we are on the cheating path.

The story, really all over the place. 6 Endings are offered, Les ending, threesome ending, happy marriage ending, bad guy wins ending, breakup ...not really though ending, and good guy wins...and stuff.

Some of the interations I found, especially with claire was mixed up, and while she is in love/lust with the MC she always either ends up into a poly relationship or nothing.

I found the renders well worth it, sexy and very nice. Story was very unsatisfying, and the endings....after so much work on the story and everying...poof, two slides and thats it. Endings were very underwhelming and showed the Dev just wanted it over with.

Use the walkthough to get to where you want, or play till your buddy is walking on the beach, save and play all the different endings.

some of it worked very well, some parts not so much.
i wish that the wife was a bit more reluctant to the open marriage idea and had to be corrupted slowly, but nah - she's releases her inner slut, and supposebly stays a loving wife as well

Really great game. Not that good in RenPy version. Prefer the unity one. Really nice scenes a good story behind all this. The corruption of all characters could be a bit slower. That would be much better. I am missing also scene gallery. The graphics could be better as well.

this is an AVN without a real plot. What you will see are just scenes in a life. It could be interesting if we had a connection (emotional or other) to the characters, but we do not.

There is no sound, no music.

Girls are good looking but the sex scenes are classical and you have no real originality in them.

This game is a real miss for me.

Critique - v1.0

The game seems much more focused on the game mechanics than on plot or the sex scenes, I wouldn't mind this too much if the game didn't have so many bugs. The plot is lacking, there is no build up and and everyone seems to just want to fuck everyone. The English is slightly off, so it's not entirely clear what choices you're making, you have to make each choice to see the different result. The renders are top notch, the animations lack sound. Some sex scenes require repeated clicking which is the most annoying thing on the planet.

I had to give up on the Unity version and switch to the Renpy, it was just riddled with bugs and all kinds of issues;

1. saving is a pain in the ass, quick saving isn't quick at all as you have to choose a specific slot for it otherwise it will overwrite your last save
2. the pictures indicating who is speaking sometimes get mixed up, so your not sure who is saying what
3. when skipping you sometimes jump between pathways
4. you're also shown dialog from other pathways even during normal play
5. if you don't have a decent computer the game is slow and juddery

You also only get some scenes by skipping the hotspots, this is counter intuitive and makes you miss a lot of content if you don't realise this.

Even using the Renpy version the pathways haven't been clearly defined and a bunch of scenes have simply been mashed together. Since the Renpy engine is much simpler you'd expect this to be a non issue, no such luck.

I can see a lot of effort was put into the game, but what is the point if there is story line cross over muddling the whole thing up.

A real lack of effort has gone into the sex scenes, usually you view one sex position from multiple angles and then you get an orgasm face.

The Renpy version is just so good. I can finally really engage with the story, characters, the HOT scenes. All the FMCs are sexy as fuck. I love the dirty talk and the hotwife is right up my alley. Great work. Can’t wait for dev’s new game.

A Happy Marriage (chapter 13 version) has some interesting mechanics, mostly when you try to figure out who goes where to initiate a scene. But the problem is that this allows for a certain degree of flexibility in which order you advance each plot (nice!) but at the same time, also messes with the fact that some plots are more interesting than others and still sometimes you have to go through all. And, on that note, I found most characters to be uninteresting, which is a problem specially when the main couple is such uninteresting couple.

Render quality is pretty high, that is true, but animations are very few. And sometimes the hotspot system only gets in the way of the storytelling, making you look through the screen when you'd just wish the story would advance but you don't want to lose that extra render. I think it doesn't add much to the game, to be honest.

So all in all, not a great game, not a terrible one either, ends up somewhere in the middle.

I agree with @naturebee with regard to what keeps this from being a really good game. I really want to like it; I find Jenny hot and unlike many other hotwife games, the male MC isn't completely unrelatable (like in The Edge Of game where I want to push the male MC off a cliff after the first three minutes of reading... but I digress).

The only issue I have with this particular game is the lack of any kind of hesitation in jumping into the lifestyle. This couple has a supposedly dull sex life, but after reading a magazine article, the wife immediately has sex with her doctor, a taxi driver, and all kinds of sex activity with her photographer friend, and same goes for the husband.

No obstacles, no real doubts, just start banging everyone.

A couple of other issues -
1. I'm not a fan of Unity. If that doesn't bother you, then non-issue for you, but I just feel like this game would be better suited for Renpy.
2. Not sure if it's my reading comprehension or if there is a lost in translation thing happening or what, but some of the text in the game doesn't make sense to me. If not for the walkthrough, I'd have no idea what to choose on some of the choices or hotspots to get to a certain path.

Overall, if you're just looking for some sex scenes, this game is very much like Adventurous Couple imo. But if you're looking for an immersive story with characters you can empathize with, I don't think this is the game for you (or me for that matter). Still, Jenny's hot, I like some of the kinks, I like that you can kind of tailor your path on the hotwife vs sharing vs cheating. It's just a shame there isn't more transition from the dull sex life into the free for all they immediately find themselves in.

I gave this three stars cause I can tell you're working hard to make a good game.
However, the result is rather bland and boring. I will use the first scenes to explain and hopefully give some constructive criticism.

Having a magazine be the "catalyst" for Jenny to be more adventurous is just lazy. Try to build the moment like you did with the bus scene, just don't have her get on her knees right away, even if it is a dream. The acts leading up to a more wild-sided woman is the fun, not the end result.

Another example of this is when jenny goes to the model agency. (if you are going to use a model agency with poses and clothes, I would also research it a bit because i mean some of that was more comedy than exciting). But on to my point; when they are taking the photos, instead of seeing the result through the lense and into her teasing eyes, you put up a screenshot from the back of her head, only focusing on her ass.

Ass and tits are good, but not if theres not emotions, excitement and teasing included, then its just skin.

My english is not perfect, but you could also really need a couple editors to proofread.

Except for that I like your UI and the way youve set up the game, its not just reading and a couple different options every 5 minutes. So thumbs up for that!

I love this game. Its a well edited, the girls are cute, the game is colourfull, and full with sunshine. I love lust levels, which are rare in games nowdays. This game technically a bit difficult, I hope, that there will be some development in this area too.

so i have finally figured out how to get the game to run.... and i am in LOVE with it.... the story is engaging, the models are amazing.... i just have one small problem with it, hence the 4/5*... the few animations i have found are beautifully done, and im very disappointed that the sex scenes are not done just as beautifully as the footjob at dinner, the carresing of the wifes foot after the strip club... when completed, if it is redone with every sex scene animated, i would gladly support AND change this rating to a 5*

I am giving it 5 stars (which I never do) because it lives up to the description and it is well developed and easy to follow the different paths. Extremely solid work here and a very enjoyable experience. The Dev really knows what he/she is doing and it shows.

Jenny is hot as hell as are all the other women. Really great models and really great scenes. There really is not much to dislike here; lots of good content early and often.

Personally, I would have liked for Jim to have been given the option to not go along with the idea. I also would have like to have seen a slower path for Jenny, but the story stays true to the description so I can't fault the developer.

Regardless, it is well done with some fresh scenes, good models and a nice interface. Really well done.

Update: I keep coming back to this game. I want to like it, but between the grammar challenges and the plot, it just doesn't quite do it for me.

Tbh...the girls are damn hot...I really have to say this. And if you prefer nylons thats the game you have to play...thrust me.....just awesome!


Just the click-spots are disturbing the erotic scenes in my mind. It prevents my to make a deep dive into the games and scenes.

This VN has a very nice graphics, detailed models and kinky story. It could be awsome... if it wasn't for the very irritating gameplay mechanic.
The story action progress through player's guessing what will be the next step- you're doing this by matching places from a map and characters that will perform there. If your guess is correct then a green sign 'play' will show and you'll be able to watch the new scene.
The problem is that there is a lot of orientation points on map and as much characters that can be played. Furthermore, you never know how many (and which) actors are supposed to be at certain scene. It's all about guessing.
There are some hints displayed in character's windows but it doesn't help much - these are their loose thoughts only.
Perhaps it's not a problem for someone who likes puzzles and has much time to play but for me it was pretty frustrating. It also kept me thinking that I'm constantly skipping some content.
This game isn't bad but it requires a lot of patience (and time).

Graphics are good, the girls are very pretty and most of the game shows good to very good renders.

The story is not unique but at least is different to a certain extent and the player can have a fair amount of choices that defines what is happening.

Writing is ok, I just think some dialogue is too fast paced to make sense, what kind of couple take literally 3 sentences of dialogue to start fucking everyone?


The overall game is good,but the internet connection requirement and the strange UI are a big slap in the face. So 3 stars from me. Removing the internet connection and changing the UI a bit would deserve an extra star.

Very Intresting and cool game. Have much content. You can for wife and husband, miltiple characters and protaganist. With every new chapter you can open new route of charachters way. Sorry for bad english

I loved it. I don't know why on a porn gaming pirate forum some people expect the porn to come late, we're talking AWAM late! And prose worthy of Dostoievsky. HM is a dev's labor of love, a very fun, kitschy, glitzy and surreal world where pleasure seeking has become paramount. And when a wife finds that she is not getting any, and her doctor relights some spark in her, she decides to go all out on a sex binge that drags her very willing husband in a spiral of cheating, cuckolding, sharing and swinging not to mention some monetary corruption. All wrapped up in some very good renders and some "intriguing" dialogues and several developing plotlines. It's raw, it's camp and it would have been extremely playable had the UI been more UF riendly. There is a learning curve to playing this game and it is a game, choices...etc matter. To quote another member : Fapability 5/5.

About the gameplay i hacve to say there is no options at all. It´s not something negative but if you (like me) wants a little of freedom in the game or see how things will go if you act some way or another, it kills the fun a bit.

It´s so hurried and has not build at all it´s like watch a sucession of sex images and no more. Almost no dialogues between the characters.
C´mon it´s a normal couple that wants to convice the other partner to spice up. I don´t know why they pass from having almost no sex between them to fuck all city and swing partners in half a day.
