VN - Ren'Py - Completed - A Happy Marriage [v1.0] [LazingInTheHaze]

I just found out how to rate a game, so this will be my first.

A Happy Marriage is a rare example of a visual novel where the female protagonist and the other female characters are strong, beautiful, intelligent, educated and independent women, choosing to have a lot of sex because they happen to enjoy it. Not because they are forced, seduced, blackmailed or just too stupid to say no. They do not mind to take matters into their own hands and use the weakness of testosterone driven men to their own advance. Bravo!

You can choose to let the husband have no problems with that, to join in and/or have some fun of his own. I think that is good, because jealousy can be an ugly thing.

The renders are really appealing. I like the fact that the women are neither teenagers nor milfs. They are beautiful thirty-something. Bonus points are awarded to the outfits. All scenes show different, sexy outfits, and I don’t recall seeing any of them in other games. This really turned me on.

I am not blind to the fact that the game has some issues. Apparently, the UI has improved a lot since the start of the development of the game, but it is still more stubborn than a Ren’py game. It took me a while to find out how to save a game. You cannot roll back. The “hotspots” can be an annoying search for Easter eggs. Choices often don’t seem to lead to different outcomes, just to the chance of missing scenes or storylines in a further linear story. I don’t mind a good linear story, so why introduce choices if they do not matter?

Largest issue is the fact that English is not the native language of the developer. Although it is a properly written story, it is not written in the best English. Not being a native speaker myself I sometimes find it hard to grasp what he is trying to say. I think the story would really benefit from a good editor.

Having said that, I enjoyed this refreshing approach to girls having fun. I really look forward to the next update. Despite the aforementioned issues it is still a full five-star experience to me.

*** edit *** The gameplay and the language have vastly improved in the last updates. So it has become even better.

This new version of " A Happy Marriage" is improved in almost every way. The mechanics are so much better you wish all the visual novels switched to this system. The plot has also become much more interesting with what was just consensual loosening of sexual behavior to more manipulation and ulterior motives for hardcore behavior. Excellent rendering and presentation of the hot scenes adds to the enjoyment. Definitely try the new version even if you weren't that excited by the early episodes.

It's a difficult game to "enjoy".

There are unique mechanics in how the scenes are explored by the player, but because there are no real choices to be made, the mechanics just end up being needless extra clicking imposed upon the player. The game violates so much what would constitute a good "user experience"

The scenes and setups are unappealing. I stopped playing after the 3rd sexual interaction because there just wasn't anything exciting going on, and I had almost broken my mouse because of how much clicking i had to do.

the plot the very usual porney one.
the guy become a harem-god and the gal become a whore for any man.
choices are pretty useless, since its railroaded as fuck.
mabe i write a better review in later versions, but for now its junk.

for a game on unity this definitely is turning out rather well. hope to see the different paths continue in future updates. would have gone 5 stars but unity just isn't as user friendly as renpy is for visual novel games.

Very beautiful model of girls. An unusual way of passing the game itself. Interesting plot.S impatiently waiting for the following updates, but they will be a lot of judging by the list with the names. I wish the author inspiration and find the time to do such a wonderful game. Thank you!

Its an Ok game for a first playthrough, however the gameplay mechanics make it almost impossible to get a good second playthrough.
As you have to grind a ton of text you've already read, to get that specific point in the image you wanna click to unlock a scene or result.

I'd advise the creator to find a way to fix this, cuz its the only thing stopping this ok game from being a great game.

I like the Path that this game is taking,has a lot of potentiell,
the graphics are very good,and I,m making this one of my favorites,if i had the Money, I would hire the dev to work full time on this game to get updates faster.

Best Version so far.
Pros:
-Very good Story so far
-Renderings are Great
-fast Pace of Story
-Jenny is one of the Best looking girls out there.
-Cons:
-Would be helpful if Tips Screens where Implemented.

As of time of this review, the download claims to contain one chapter. I don't seem to be able to start this though, see further below. Issues:
1. There is an option to skip "hotspots" (click the right thing like undies for example) but using it makes you fail the current hotspot.
2. clicking around quickly if you're impatiently trying to get to the game start/nudity can crash game (only happened once)

Trying to get the game to play is a fucking pain "you can't do this, go to the main menu and read instructions" -paraphrased but wtf

The download available here is not enough to play the game.
