Ren'Py - A House in the Rift [v0.7.14r2] [Zanith]

What a fantastic game! The characters, writing and story are fantastic, Caitlin is just so innocent/precious, Naomi made me enjoy gentle femdom, Azraesha gives off "Yennefer" vibes that make you crave for more hugs, kisses and "quality time" from her and you cant help but pity the misunderstood Lyriel.

Every character is well written and the pacing of their "routes" and the main story just blend in so well that you dont realise it without having to specifically follow the guided instructions in the phone.

I would give this game 6 stars if i could.

This game has a solid, well written story, with a nice amount of choices. The women have great personalities, and each have their particular charms. This game is easy to follow, has plenty of things to do, many repeatable events, and even a walkthrough added into the game. The animations are well done and very smooth, although it pains me to admit, I'm not a fan of the constant camera movement .

Outside of that, this is easily a 5 star game and well worth a playthrough.

I don't know how i got to this game, BUT im glad I did. At first it was very short (one of the first releases) and i was like "I will try it and see if it is good or no". I must confess at first i didn't care about the plot only about the sex stuff, this feeling about this game quickly left and i played it again, now with actually reading what was going on, and OH BOY i wasn't disappointed at all.

Gameplay:

-> The art in this game is VERY good and animations are well done and smooth.
-> Each one of the girls is unique and they will quickly find a way to your heart, even without fucking.(Rae is still on top of scoreboard for obvious reasons )
-> Walkthrough was very good decision and it helped in many ways.
-> Adding map into game was very good too, as it helped with getting from one side of the house to another.
-> Overall the UI is quite simple and it's not distracting.
-> A plot in this game is unbelievable, main story line and even side story lines will pull you into playing this game for maybe hours without you even noticing. (Note for ZanithOne: Please make the dinner scene where Lyriel will join)
-> What i don't like about this game is waiting time before every update, it's not long but with game this good is hard to patiently wait.
-> I don't know what else i should say about this masterpiece.

Overall i recommend this game to every user on this site. And i hope one day i can donate to help ZanithOne in developing this game, until this time comes i will wait for next update and cheer for it. Keep up the VERY GOOD work Boss.

Honestly, one of my top favorites of harem based games. Characters are interesting and funny and development between the MC are superb. I also love the interaction between the characters as well, as it adds more dimensions to the story.

Nothing bad that I can add to so far, literally played it for hours straight and didn't realise that time had flown by. Keep doing what you're doing. Can't wait for this to be finished!

I've been on this site for a while. Played through A LOT of trash games, excellent games and anything in between. But this game.. It Instantly rose to one of my top3 games to be excited about. Here's why:

Artstyle: It's nothing super special but refined. Very much so, scenes are great (good animations!) and the positions and tempo feel on point. The characters are hot. Like very. Not a big fan of the busty pirate but the rest. Gimme. (<3 Azraesha)

Story: Not like I would ever disregard a harem story with a diverse female cast. The whole magical side of it really gives the developer freedom in what and who to add. I approve. Pace of how everything unfolds feels natural and doesn't blueball you for ages.

Gameplay: Typical gameplay through H-scenes, choose what you like and watch it unfold. Great for one handed navigation. The developer even added a shortcut system to places which I highly appreciate (seriously, some games make you click way to much to reach places).

All in all I can't really criticize my experience with this game. I just hope for the future, things get a little more depraved as you grow stronger and well.. as always, not gonna say no to more girls. Especially well crafted ones as the current cast is.

It's pretty good and one of the best Ren'py games out there. While it's still in early version (0.4.5 at the time of this writing) there's a pretty good amount of content already. The character models are hot, specially main girl (forgot her name, you know what who i'm talking about lol)
I usually not interested/mildly interested in dialouge in games, let's be real here, lot of you are here for... other reasons. However, House in the rift manages to structure it's dialouge amazingly well. While the other games makes dialouge extremly tedious with unnecessary dialouge that goes on for ages, House in the rift avoids that problem, making it extremly easy to read and that's one of it's biggest pros. Another thing is the animations. The animations in this game is a breath of fresh air, as a lot of renpy animations tend to be same trough all the game , and while it gets the job done, it feels extremely nice to see a game that has more focus on animations). The soundtrack choice is excellent. It's extremely moody and comfy. Very memorable as well, i can still hear the main tune of the game inside my head. It feels this game has more thought and character put into it and for that, it makes it one of the best renpy type games out there.
Hopefully, developer of the game does not get burnt out on this, I would love to see more)

Such a nice story, and frankly some very good animations too. I can't wait to see how it will develop. The characterization is very good and the hooks for every character are very well arranged. I also loved the way to interact with the girls and the cellphone help to avoid been stuck. There are things that you must find but everything is reachable and very intuitive. Very good job.

Amazing game! I love the setting, it makes you feel in touch with all the characters since it's essentially only you and them. The guidebook/quests are easy to follow and don't leave you hanging on what to do. The choices do feel a bit artificial, as they really don't do to much aside from changing the dialogue every now and then but it's nice that you have them.

One of the best harem games there is, good pacing, not grindy, girls are different and enjoyable. Also animations are really good and that's a plus! Content is dense and impactful, so even if it's not the longest at its current state, it's a well spent time.

Top notch production, great story and choices that have different outcomes. The main flaw of the game is one of the girls steals the show and the others need to be expanded somewhat.

There are a lot of interesting possibilities with the setting, and hope the developer continues to explore the unique powers the MC has.

its a harem game thats a bit different from most. good animation fun developments, lots of girls of different origins and world/universes. not to much of a grind but hours of fun . lots of quest and sub quests/secrets hidden around. lots of character interaction . all in all it has everything you could want from a harem game + more

I rarely review games since they all mostly feel the same too but this one had my interest from start to last didn't skip any text at all.

+ Each girl feels different have a great personality ( Succubus is my fav)
+ The interface is great which easy to understand and clean.

+ A very interesting plot ( although when I 1st saw this game I ignored it because of the plot lol dk why I did that)

- I didn't really find any yet never feel bored with this game.

Just tremendous. Kept seeing this on the Latest Games list but skipped it for a long time. Thankful to have finally dove in.

One thing I'd like to single out for praise is the interface. In addition to clicking around the house, you've got:
* a map you can use to navigate which accurately shows the location of each girl
* a phone app saying how to unlock new scenes for each girl (but not spoiling what they are)
* a journal saying how to proceed in the story quests
* a gallery (on the main menu) of scenes that aren't otherwise replayable

This is incredibly thorough and helpful and I wish it was the standard that most authors of free-roam games followed.

The game design is great too, there's a central story you can follow but also even more optional(?) side events you can have by raising reputation and being in the right place at the right time. The numeric scale of these reputation values is nice and low, where you might need to raise it to 10 or 20 to unlock the next thing, which you can do mostly by seeing unique scenes.

There's a lot of fun variations in the dialog, too. You can choose to be polite, nasty or naughty at various points and I'm sure it doesn't affect much in the long term but it adds a lot of great flavor.

It's a great play right now that will get even better as the path of the characters and story is filled out.

This game seems to be new in development but a lot of work has already been put into it, and it shows. The renders are nice and (most) of the character's designs are really nice. The pace picks up really well and it's quite clear how your answers and choices affects things (For better or worse). I like how there really isn't a "fail" system (as in if you mess up something, you can always progress and earn points later) I personally enjoy games where even though there are different routes, i don't have to load up old saves and go through these different routes just to unlock a certain small thing that one time. For the amount of time the game's been up, there is a surprising amount of content to be explored, with a day night system and characters having certain patterns and activities throughout the day

finaly, someone who know, how to make a game that is not annoying to play.
NO grinding. story element seems to be inplace.
has 4 girls. (2 who I really like 1 meh and 1 also kinda meh. But nothing I hate)
haveing only 4 girls makes it, so you can get to know them. So that is a huge plus.
this also has the best animations I have seen in a HS game.

I've played hundreds of other games and this one ranks at the old flash game "SlaveMaker" level for enjoyment with the addition of the most enthralling storyline liberally infused with sexual encounters spanning nearly the full range of experiences.

I don't like giving 5-star reviews. I feel like a game really has to go above and beyond to earn that kind of rating. The collection of games, comics and other media here on f95 tends to range from crap to really good, with the latter only ever getting a max of 4.5 stars, even if their lewd content is top-notch.

'A House in the Rift' has excellent sex scenes, but what pushes it above and beyond other titles I've tried on this site is everything else. The story is fun and unique and the characters are absolutely phenomenal. I normally try and see all the sex scenes I can, but I ended up going for the nicer route where I didn't see that because I legitimately care about these characters. They're vivid and dynamic and there's just a lot of wonderful interaction they have with the PC and each other that I just don't see in other VNs or games.

tl;dr Cum for the "plot", stay for the plot.

Awesome game + idea, the Story takes place in the House of the MC while he gets the ability to pull Girls of his Dreams into his house, which seems to be also in some kind of Dream Environment, floating in the Sky.

Sweet girls which have all their own character and are all lovely on their own.
Also good graphics and animations.
