VN - Ren'Py - A Man for All [Ep.17] [Venus Waltz]

This game has a lot of heart.

The five love interests all have distinct personalities, problems, and goals in life. Most games that have multiple love interests will have one or two that I can't stand, but that isn't the case here. Each of them is interesting enough that I would eventually want to play through for their ending.

The game handles choices in an unusual manner. There are tons of small choices that only exist to shape the main character's personality a bit, and then there are a handful of larger choices that will determine who your character is romantically/sexually pursuing.

The small choices don't seem to matter much, so the main character will still occasionally act like a sarcastic goofball even if you have been choosing all of the professional options that appear. But it's still nice to be able to have some choices like that, because they allow you to do fun things like having a running gag with Harlow about taking over the world.

I thought I knew all the good story based vn's. Then I tried this gem.

First up. The dev writes well. He uses good english, and the pacing of this story is interesting. He intelligently uses little skips in time to bypass potentially boring filler sections in the timeline so he clearly respects the player's time.

The title appears to be a reference to the dialog system. Here, you can choose one of three approaches to speaking to the girls in the game: 'nice', 'funny' or 'player'. You're not locked in, and you can change your approach style for each girl, or at any point. Similarly, you can elect to take a maximum aggression or a less aggressive approach to resolving conflict/fights. It's different than most vn's and I really appreciate it.

There are choices. I saw another reviewing saying you can't say 'no'. That's a load of horseshit. I said 'no' more than once and the game respected my choice. I hate seeing objectively untrue bullshit in reviews. And I loved how the dev had dialogue that called back to some of my earlier 'no' choices when I decided to change tack a little bit.

The girls themselves are very different from a personality perspective. Some, I prefer more than others, but all of them are well written and ... subjective opinion time ... some of them are smoking hot. Not pictured in the banner is the stripper who is possibly the hottest of them all.

The renders are nicely done. Some of the psychology project discussion seems kinda flaky but, y'know, it's just a plot device so who cares right?

And finally ... there's Billy. To start with he kinda annoyed me. But over time, I've kinda grown fond of the old boaster roaster. Fight me.

It could be great if you didn't have to make a choice every 3 renders! I got so lost I had no Idea how react... 3 x 3 question options in 6 renders, I counted over 50 options in 1st 15min of game play (Talk ABOUT EXCESSIVE) shame had lots potential ! the renders are good the is ok .

somebody teach this guy how write dialog options because obviously he just does it like fallout 4, except in fallout 4 you can actually say no, not in this game tho you cant say no to anything or anyone

I really liked the game and the story, very immersing. The characters aren't cliche as in other games, and you'll find yourself trying to know each one and understand their background. Looking forward to the next episodes!

Perfect modelled girls, great scenes, very different personalities, various paths, very good.

surprisingly engrossing.

It sounds like an implied insult but i do not mean it that way. the adult scenes do not feel gratuitous or unnatural and they are spaced well enough to not feel sparse or over the top

Got a crush on Harlowe, what else could I possibly do now? Everything for science, even actually submitting a rating. Cafe owner is one hell of a lad as well, our professor is rather shy still- or aware of us? Wild action in the streets instead of the sheets, cage battles. We've got it all and boy do I hope we will get more.

The great: Good arts, good writing, (mostly) engaging and attractive characters. No watermelon tits or horse cocks. All good.


The story is painfully stupid at places (which is annoying in this case, as it is supposedly a "realistic" one, apart of course from the usual porn game situation that the MC has a chance to get together with every attractive female person that appears in his field of vision).

If you are not such a wuss as I am concerning glaring plot holes, then this game might be perfect for you.

A story about a student-barista-fighter-activist of a kind.

Very nice and pretty women, each with a specific interesting character. I like them all, all of them are attractive, even those older side characters like that bar owner.

A kind and captivating story with a good bit of humor.

I'm not sure though what choices to make in dialogs (knight - joker - player), as for now they don't seem to matter much; but somehow that's refreshing that you don't know what to max out, instead of mechanically choosing "the best status increase" you should rely on your instincts and characters' replies.

I mean, very good game in all regards, from renders and models to dialogs and composition.

Where to start? The game is good, but there are some things that can be improved, for example: animations, the animations have extremely robotic movements even though aesthetically/graphically they are beautiful, the protagonist's facial expressions during the dialogues are weird. A difference is the system of moral choices based on colors, with a difference in the reactions between the characters and impact on their relationship depending on when or how it was used, but 90% of the game's events are still immutable and this is kind of meh. Vanessa is the girl that most caught my attention, mainly because she never took her glasses off her face and because she will probably be the one who will give the protagonist the most trouble with +18 scenes with her.

Below are my grades for each category, where 10 is the maximum grade:

Verdict: It's worth a look.

An entertaining, well-written adult VN with good visuals and character design as well as featuring plenty of dialogue choices.

The main story is fairly simple but interesting featuring fun character interactions and different types of events accompanied by an entertainingly written dialogue and well-structured story scenes.

The dialogue itself amongst main story choices has a three-choice system for the five interesting and distinctive love interests, which depending on the response will change minor dialogue lines and scenes while not excluding any content. The relationships themself have a natural pace and flow to them with well-placed story-wise intimate scenes that are well-made.

Overall a very fun game with potential that has some minor flaws but is improving with each update.

Edit: Unfortunately the author never really improved his writing, the story and characters just don't go anywhere. The game becomes boring and the dialogue and character scenes are repetitive.

Review as of Episode 3:

The renders are solid, the characterizations are unique and meaningful, and the story and motivations are surprisingly fresh. The 5 main interests are all different in good ways that make each of them appealing to learn more about. They're all very attractive in their own ways and have their own unique motivations to progress the story that aren't just about mindlessly getting with the MC. The side characters are also very attractive, and get fresh content too that provide each update with fun sex events to keep people reeled in. The game also allows you to determine how you interact with each character based on 3 personality types, and conflict can be solved with 2 styles as well. Hopefully these decisions play full effect on the story and are not glossed over in the later updates, because it's hard to tell if they will result in meaningful differences at the moment.

I think the only detraction is each update only has one main lengthy sex scene each, for a total of 3 after episode 3. While the story pacing is good, I think there could be a few more spicy side scenes/events to really bring in attention in each update in case a player isn't a fan of the woman it's with. These can be done with side characters to make sure the main women's development isn't compromised purely for some action, though some more teases by the main characters could be nice. 3-4+ total scenes per update could be doable, with one big set piece scene alongside several smaller scenes that don't detract too much from the story. This might make each episode longer in length, but I think that would help pull in a lot of potential support. For those playing the game for the first time, if the dev decided to sprinkle in a few more minor sex scenes in the first 3 chapters, it could bring in some more patrons that the game rightfully deserves.

Strongly recommend trying this one out and supporting its development. A lot of potential.

This is a game with engaging characters, interesting subplots, and a strong vision from the developer. It's clear there's a story to be told and that each character will play a role in that story regardless of whether you choose to pursue them. This is the type of game I like, and I eagerly look forward to more.

I don't know what I was expecting when I decided to play this, but I got way more than I bargained for.
I got a great, well written story with interesting characters, which is hard to find these days. I love a good narrative, an this game has it in spades. The girls are good looking and engaging (I love Harlow), and I expect this will become one of my absolute favorite games out there.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

Awesome characters, renders, animation and story. Focuses on a set of characters instead of throwing in a batch of new ones each update. The story flows very naturally and you find yourself interested in what people have to say and what they do. A very flexible choice system that makes sense.

Very well made 10/10. Try it.

Excellent VN with good unique looking models that are also have distinct personalities. Like the way the story is branching out and providing the MC with different options to reach his goals. Just want to emphasize that you can try and put a little more effort in the MC's appearance and show how he is also evolving as the story evolves. Hate to see the same plain face everywhere with the same generic VN male clothes format.

An exceptional diamond in the rough that I was glad to stumble upon. The visuals and user interface are very crisp with the models all unique, both in their physical appearance and personality alike. Additionally, the plot is very realistic , believable ,and consequently relatable. There is no forced sex scene and the one scene we do get is fully understandable.

The dev seamlessly introduces these aspects of molding the person you want to be with each situation and provides a different aspect than most games where you get basic love/sexual traits for any given LI. Here you are given a very different set of people and based off how you view their behavior, you take the corresponding action that would best work in the situation to best progress the story.

Could not be more pleasantly surprised to find this game. Keep it up, VW

Now this is a game I don't mind reviewing in the slightest.

First things first, this is well written. And by that I mean the English is good, the grammar is on pint and the story telling, well, there are not that many games out there this good. If the story is important to you in a game then check this out. I can't praise it enough. It is so nice to find a game like this, they are so few and far between.

On to the second plus point. The characters. They are unique. Not one made me think of another game; not one hairstyle, clothing choice or pose. These are not "copy pasta" models, and I include the men in this. Each one is fresh and different, again, so nice to see in a game on here.

The "sex". It's not the best, I will readily admit that, there are games out there that do it better however do not let that put you off. It's good, real good, better than 95% of games on here and combined with the writing and the characters it makes for a special game.

This game is a breath of fresh air in the genre, and although not perfect it does come damn close, putting many games earning their creators £1000's per month to shame. One to watch, and probably support.
