A rant directed towards the admins of f95. Can we have better download links and descriptions PLEASE???

I'm just going into it directly, no ass kissing/licking.

I'm on the downloads page, this game looks interesting, I click on it.

The story/synopsis looks good, let's download it.

The download section:

-- "Latest version"
-- "Reworked/remastered version" but we don't know what was reworked fuck you, search on the forum yourself, but there is a changelog, sure... When it is updated, but you still don't know the differences between the Latest Version, the Reworked version and then you have the...
-- "STEAM version", the fuck you version, find the difference yourselves.
-- "Patch" that does who the fuck knows (as there are no indication, unless you're ready to search and read through the whole forum)
-- " BUGFIX Patch" (Same... as there are no indication, unless you're ready to search and read through the whole forum)
-- " Compressed version" sure when there is one.
-- And then we have different version of the same game "BRIGHT LORD" with stupid fucking version numbers and nobody knows the difference unless they download the game.

Listen I'm not complaining about getting free games, but you have so many rules on the website but the main one doesn't even make sense.

Please I would love to know what the fucking patch I'm downloading does, give me a description (the one I don't have to search on the forum), please let me know the differences between all these versions.

The links, description, and changelog you usually see are those the uploaders can get. (Admins/mods have little to do with game posting, or that's the idea anyway) Uploaders who don't usually play the update as playing every update to every game would be insane. Threads owned by devs are usually a little better with changelogs, but they might not provide compressed versions or patches anywhere, thus there are no links to add.

This site hosts nearly nothing itself. It simply provides what's already available. Now, my game has everything you're asking for. But that's because I provide that myself. Best you can do for things like patches is ask the dev directly if they can make them.

Dude, I'm absolutely not talking about the uploaders, and it has nothing to do about hosting but come on... Most of the download links/descriptions are because of the site admins.

When you have a game with 3-4 different versions and yet the download links are like "click here" that's a problem. I know f95 aren't hosting anything, that's not the issue. My problem is like I mentioned...

You asking for "better descriptions" is asking for someone to provide something they don't actually know. Anything you see in extras is usually done by forum members. If they don't tell you what it does, that's on them.

I think expecting the administration to try to run the site like it's some kind of Steam library is a little off base.

The kind people posting the content for you are doing the best they can, and I'm pretty sure they are not paid and it's not a job.

You are welcome to post content and adhere to your standards you'd like across hundreds of games getting updates or not providing good notes. It is what it is and I think they are doing the best they can do. <3
