Well, advancing deeper into the dungeon advance the "plot" as well. But there is no hurry and you will get better weapons very soon. Either as drops from monsters or through gacha. Also you don't need to kill everything, when you're low in HP just escape the dungeon. There is no penalty.

But what I did to farm money was fill the item slots with neko punch and use fallen mage glove on the last slot and then get the fire/ice bow. Neko punch adds damage and the fallen mage gloves makes the arrow track the enemies and with that you can walk on the dungeon while shooting and kill everything

Yes, you need to start again because the old save data doesn't work on the new version

0.6 Update Log:
Due to the implementation of a lot of new content and changes to the core code, old save files may not be compatible. It’s recommended to start a new save file for this update.

• Added an event where you wake up Imouto in the morning
• Added an event for when Imouto eats the pink konpeito
• Implemented a quick head-patting interaction button with corresponding facial reactions from Imouto
• Added sleepy facial expressions for Imouto after 9 PM
• Implemented small scene objects with corresponding descriptions
• Added some new UI elements
• Introduced a weapon durability system
• Added a mechanic for fruit trees to respawn on the map for collection
• Implemented a mysterious shop
• Added 6 new types of slimes
• Introduced several new pieces of equipment
• Optimized the mechanics of the Red Beast boss

Since the 0.6 version has so much content, there might be a few smaller updates this month to release the parts that haven’t been fully implemented yet.
The next major update, version 0.65, is planned for release on February 1st.
The main plans for version 0.65 are:

• Trying to develop an Android version
• Adding a series of animations related to character portraits
• Implementing new maps and bosses
• Working on more full-scene animations
• Adding new lingerie for Imouto
• Implementing some new animations and H-events
