Hello there! As the thread name suggests this post is mostly made to speed up my game development.

I'm just a simple user trying to become a simple dev. But this process is so slow that at my current pace my game will be ready in about 10000 years.

And this is where this magic letter comes in. So right now ill pack a box with everything that slows me down (youtube, laziness, porn games etc.) and I'm gonna throw this bitch in an ocean. And the only way to get to this box is to be Jacques Cousteau.

That is a start but the main thing, however, is this. I'm gonna dedicate at least 2 hours every day working on my project. Without my mood getting in the way.

And finally, I set my deadline on 1st July. If I don't i will find a boring work just as normal people do.

Good luck to me.

Suggestion:
Don't give yourself a deadline, it just adds unnecessary stress and odds are you're not going to make it anyways.
Make a list of short term goals and complete them one by one. The small but positive sense of satisfaction from completing goals is a good motivator.

Heh to be honest thats basically more of how I think about myself (or motivate/not motivate myself). I generally wish for others to succeed when it makes them happy. So I would say dont always listen to everyone else, because there will be people that dont like what you do, no matter what.

But maybe dont aspire to eat every single most poisonous thing there is to eat. Because that sounds pretty silly.

(whats the game about btw, some on topic talk seems good).

1) It's your project, your story to tell not anyone elses. Take on board critisism but don't necassarily be swayed by it all.
2) WRITTEN (as opposed to just in your head) to do lists are your everything...when trying to achieve something, nothing is worse than missing a deadline, nothing is better than crossing stuff off a list. Suggest the 1st one is - write your to do list, one of the other early ones plan your project.
3) What @Delmach ended with
4) Good luck

Yeah lists are everything and a huge motivation at that.
When I plan out a new story to write or plan a new world etc I write lists.
These lists contain everything(dis is just an example btw) from topography to customs, to trade goods, religion, nobility, laws, flora, fauna, history. And so so much more. Even if most of that stuff never makes it into my story it exists for me. I KNOW that these things are in my world and that is much deeper then I ever can write about it. THAT is something which motivates me a lot.

Just knowing your world in and out, the deepst secrets no one will ever know, the most beautiful places and historic stories. I mean yes... I am going way overboard with such things. But its such a motivation having created a world this intricate, I just want to write about it and share it with people. Soooo what I am saying, before you stress yourself out take some time and create your ''world'' for the game. It may bring you a lot of motivation.

I know how you feel man, I am the same way with projects. The only thing stopping you from accomplishing what you want is you.
