VN - Ren'Py - Completed - A Soldier's Struggle [v1.0 Steam] [Moonbox]

It starts out very interesting as the taboo relationship between "mom and son" somewhat slowly but steadily develops, even including the "sister" quite early on.

For me, it fails the landing though, for the following reasons:

• It's almost impossible to visually tell the difference between mother (Mia) and daughter (Sarah). They more or less have the same body, the same hair, same eyes and facial expressions. Only very fine nuances make out the difference. This basically rids the game of the most interesting taboo elements.

On a personal note, I prefer VN's that give some control with regards to fetishes, this includes NTR and how the male protagonist climaxes (CIF, CIM, CIP etc.). Though I understand that this makes the job harder for the dev.

All in all, not a bad VN, I recommend to give it a try. I enjoyed playing it once. Unlikely that I will open it a second time, though.

No animations. In a field of AVN's with animations, this simply isn't acceptable.

Show the protagonists face. Nothing screams "poor framing" and distracts from the visual storytelling more than this weird gimmick some developers have latched onto.

Brain dead MC. Runs away and abandons family and doesn't get a job and help them escape an abusive situation. Even tolerates the abusers presence much longer than plausible. Mainly to get a netori scene. Big wow, not impressed.

The mom and sister (with the patch) are cute and nice people. The are also stupid, they put up with abuse and never do anything to resolve the situation.

This developers other game has a gigantic number of love interests, way too many to keep track of and/or care about. The focus on just a few love interests is welcome.

There are no lesbians in the special forces/ground troops, lesbian was added to background story I would guess to fill a quota, gotta wave the rainbow flag in nearly AVN perhaps. Who knows, it's ridiculous and stupid.

I like a strong male MC taking care of and being protective of their family. I will always support this aspect of story telling.

Moonbox you've outdone yourself, I have to admit, this game is much better than Grandma House, my top 5, there's no harem tag and I like that. MC is just the way I like him, well-built and obviously handsome and then there's the fucking soldier, , you've outdone everything with this, amazing story. I haven't seen a game where the MC is a soldier yet, unless I'm wrong, correct me, this is how a male character in these types of games should look and other developers should learn from you, not a cunt-looking MC who just says "oh fuck, we'll throw in a big dick and it'll sell and it'll be great." The mother and sister characters are amazing, "I was blown away" ,that's what I like, although their faces reminded me a bit of a cool actress , but I still liked them. The sex scene with the mother in her room, where the dad beautifully slept THIS IS ART!!! The cherry on the cake. I've played a lot of games like this, but I've never seen this option/scene in any of them. Good job. I'll finish it. It's a shame it's so short, but I had fun. Thanks and I wish you continued success in this endeavor.

Summary: game is pretty good, at least its creative and different than other renpy games i tried recently +works without chocking

This VN was a pleasant surprise. The writing and characters kept me engaged, and even though it’s short, it feels complete in what it set out to do. The story balances heartfelt moments with humor and intimacy, making it more than just another adult VN.


The visuals are strong — clean renders, expressive faces, and great detail — though I do wish there had been some animation to bring the scenes to life. The H-content is plentiful enough, with solid dialogue that makes the moments feel earned rather than rushed. That said, I wouldn’t have minded a few more scenes or chances to interact with side characters. We also need to see more Ethel Rosenblum — she definitely deserves more time in the spotlight.


What I liked most is that it respects your time: no grind, no pointless choices, just a straight and satisfying narrative you can enjoy in a couple of hours. It’s the kind of game you finish in one sitting, but think about afterwards.


Verdict: A short but impactful VN with good writing, hot scenes, and memorable characters. Worth playing, and I’m looking forward to whatever this creator does next.

A well written game with great themes and characters. The smut has plenty of dialogue as well, along with good stills that sadly weren't animated. All being said and done I just wish there was more. Looking forward to more from this creator.

This was a pleasant surprise. Wanted to try it out since it was short and I like big titties. I was pretty sure I was just gonna skip the story and just fap to the renders.

But I found myself actually enjoying the story. I mean I was still choking my little birdie every time Mia or Sarah were on screen, but I liked the story.

Now I wish it was longer. I want more sex scenes - the ones in here were hot and raunchy. I actually liked the build-up.

I also wish we could have gone around and had some fun with the other lovely ladies but that's just the horndog in me speaking.

This was such a treat. 5 stars out of 5 stars - would fap again.

Solid piece, if a bit short, there are a couple timeskips that could have been explored deeply. Still pretty enjoyable.

Short review with stolen format. Although it's a short KN, I'd recommend it to be viewed. The writing is good, I liked the jokes and innuendo, I am ESL but can't remember any obvious errors that can't be overlooked (sometimes mistakes happen(d)s).

I enjoyed the game and recommend it for you who are interested in a good story KN that has about 2-3 hours playtime.

P.S. Anyone that doesn't like a redhead can GTFO!

PROS:

1. Models look fairly nice, nothing over the top and actually almost a bit more realistic if anything.
2. World and environment are fleshed out nicely, decent details.
3. Writing is solid, structured and reads well.
4. Dialogue is not over inflated or long winded, so doesn't feel like a drag to read.
5. UI is nicely fleshed out with everything you need in terms of settings.
6. Visuals are not bad, but not "great" (mostly the style)
7. Kinks are not bad, add the incest patch and you have a big one on top of that. I recommend the patch, simply because landlady just reads weirdly.

CONS:

1. Visuals feel/look dated, its not horrible or bad at all, but...just not great, this is more the style I think that the actual quality. So more a preference and not really a con per say.
2. Animations are completely absent from this VN, as per I think most of this devs work, real shame.
3. No sounds of any kind, no music, no environmental, ambient, interactions, lewd sounds, nothing. Big shame.

FINAL REMARKS, OPINIONS & SUGGESTIONS:

• Regarding the visuals, the details make it actually decent but it still not what I would consider good or like those AVN out there that are actually good.

TLDR:

Overall not bad at all, I even think I prefer this over some of the devs earlier work. I would have liked to have had some animations and sounds would have been great also though. Visually its not bad, writing is good and story is simple and nothing new but told well.
