Only gonna give this 4 stars for now, but I'm waiting to make it 5 as soon as the next release. This has the potential to be one of the better AVNs, but there were enough flaws in the prologue to keep me from going all out.
First of all the build up was all over the place, concerning both the plot and the character development. I usually would not have an issue with the time skips, but when you do them you gotta make sure the development is on point.
In this case I have problems with the MC, he seemed a bit shallow, yes, he's a combat vet, he has past, but he also needs to have some kind of present that would make him likeable in the eyes of the people around him. For example, he agreed to live with the girls on condition that he'd help out with some house work, but we're never shown him doing anything, or he gets given a job by his friend, but he's never shown working, instead he's shown ignoring messages, acting nonchalant and the moment he's left alone he breaks down in alcohol. All this, combined with the time skips make the love girls grow for him seem out of nowhere, because it's one thing to be kind to others, it's another thing to fall in love.
Speaking of love, I love Haley, she's so likable it's easy to get invested in her. However I can't say the same about Bailey, the game was trying it's best to make it feel like the MC loves her, but it's all out of place, we spend most of our time with Haley, as we should, but even during time skip it is stated that MC spent most of his time with Haley (as he should) and yet MC loves both twins equally? Doesn't seem right. I don't get Bailey's role in this, there was 0 connection between her and the MC, and there doesn't need to be. It just felt like the game was trying to forcefully set ground for a potential throuple route, hopefully that will stop. It would have been even more emotional if MC himself carried Haley to the hospital after realizing what he's done, instead her sister knocked him out and he run away, made him look a bit weaker in character. That said it's not unrealistic, and this game seems to be based on a true story, so it's ok.
I think there will be no issues going forward and this game will be great, seems like the relationship paths will branch out as they should. There were choices presented that seemed to make you pick between the twins, which is a good thing. I'm rooting for this game to succeed.
