Hi,
Sorry, it's been a while and quiet. I was struck with a stomach bug and have been out for a bit and still recovering but mostly back into things.
What can you expect from Alpha 0.36? What are we focusing on? This'll be the end of Lashley's update. We're aiming to complete all her CG art which means a nice handful of new h-scenes and an end to her story.
We're also in the midst of reworking the h-scenes in the game so that they'll animate infinitely even when the menu pops up. We're working it in a way so that each 'stage' or 'intensity level' of each h-scene is on a timer which is based on your stamina level and then even after the menu pops up asking if you wanna continue or climax, it'll keep going. This'll also be beneficial for when we wanna include dialogue without having to have the animation go frame by frame. I hope ya'll will enjoy that change.
This update will also be a Steam release update and we plan on these release dates:
-2 Week Early Access for Patreon: 14th October
-1 Week Early Access for Patreon: 21st October
-Patreon & Steam Release: 28th October
Thank you all for your patience and support, and thank you for loving Lashley!
GeeSeki out!
This is a very interesting post.
1) Stomach bug
I don’t see how said stomach bug has affected the development cycle at all. Looking at the dev log, it was a very normal cycle of ~3 weeks of work and ~6 weeks of no progress, as is usual. The only difference is that he continued working on the Lashley scenes instead of releasing a half-hearted update last week. As such it is
4 weeks of work. 5, if the progress continues over the next weeks.
2) Ending Lashley’s story
This is mostly interesting because the latest labeled chapter on the dev log is 26, but the latest chapter marked written is 35. I wonder if this means that the last 9 chapters will have zero new CG/art?
3) In the "middle of" converting all h-scenes
The only related item I’ve found in the dev log is

. It was only added two weeks ago and it sits at 0% completion. seems more like a plan they haven’t gotten around to yet than being in the middle of already doing it. That said, the awkward and slow h-scenes have been an issue I’ve disliked for a long time…
Related to the "normal dev cycle": After finding Geeseki’s overall plan for the game, I searched for "Geeseki" in the hopes of finding some other interesting information. Aside from the fact that Geeseki has far too many defunct accounts across the web, I also found the account he uses to ask for help with Renpy:

This is mostly interesting because, apparently, Geeseki has a second project besides A Town Uncovered. From what I have gathered, it contains: 1) Making various burgers by stacking ingredients; 2) Driving across an infinite road (presumably with your food truck); 3) Your truck having a health bar and the screen shaking whenever you are hit. 4) "loopable indie-folk type tracks" by the same composer as the club music.
GeeSeki must have been very very good person with a lot of good Karma in his previous life and he is using it all in this life. Next life he is gonna be reborn as a goblin or an ant after using up all good fortune.
That is certainly one interpretation.
In the interest of ‘teaching a man to fish’ (because someone always asks for it when a new version drops), here’s how I find the cheat code whenever a new version is out.
you don't have to do all that
my cheat enabler can all that for you
If you use unren, you can just directly change the line which governs whether cheats are active so that they are active by default. No need to actually use the password.
Or you can pop you current save into saveeditonline.com and change the cheat enabled status there, which I find quicker than either seeking out and downloading another file or messing around with unren + searching the code.
As RoughlySpecific said: "This is a heavily debated topic", but he didn't explain why.
The reason why this is debated is that every once in a while a retard comes here and writes "there was a ntr tag; why did it disappear? I don't wanna ntr!!!"
The whole ntr haters tribe is a bunch of morons who didn't realize that the whole point of "ntr-alarm! attention!" in this game doesn't make sense at all.
Good point. I was more concerned with helping people who didn’t like it avoid the game, but reading my post does skew the perception on this stuff. Might need to add another line…
