Yeah it will be fun to play this as a 90 years old grandpa Well this is how groups work who use patreon. I like it more when a game has a release date insted of getting different versions every 1-3 month. Sadly it can't be helped.

Hah yeah I feel you, I too got the feeling we won't see the final product before at least 2-4 years, but one can dream. Or if the dev team for each team gets bigger, we might see the end sooner than we think, but I won't hold my breath.

You know you don't have to download each and every beta update, you could treat this just like any other non-patreon / major commercial game developer product.

eg. Treat this is a trailer release / tech demo to announce that a new game is underdevelopment by said group, that the actual game will be available to the general public to play anywhere from 1-3 years from the release of the initial trailer. (assuming nothing goes wrong like: change of engine; reduction of funding; change of staffing; change of core feature set; decision to start project again; etc... (ie. the excuses most major game developer houses give for a delayed first release.))
