I mean, to be more neutral here, "A Struggle with Sin" is using Virt-a-Mate for the scenes. But they still had to wrangle RPG Maker to do what they want.
This one is more or less hand drawn (with some assistance) for the art. Not saying it is slower, but it is kind suspicious on the length between the updates.
I have to contradict your point, while it would be valid on most game, this one has a system that allows a heavy reuse of already made drawings, while there is still some art involved, it is nowhere near the amount of art a normal 2DCG game requires, unless the dev decides to create multiple animations for different body proportions in order to facilitate more characters, or is remaking a singiffincant amount of the old art he is probably not drawing all that much. He could in theory add a bunch on new scenes every update, which would just be the same animations but applied to a different character that hasn't had that scene already.

Point. I haven't seen much "unique" scene in this game. Hand drawn, this may be but most are very much repeated assets.

Well, yeah, that is why I am saying that in theory this game should have much quicker updates comparable to "Struggle with Sin" since the dev doesn't have to go trough the long process of drawing the images for each scenes individually.

I been trying to see if i can add animations to the game so far it seems like base animations are made by layering PNGs so i don't think ill be able to.
Actually the Dev is using "Live2d" for the characters, which use layered png sprites and then applies "bone" based transforms to give a pseudo-animated look.

Your AI generated animations are very cool, but I can't see how they could be mixed into the game easily

The easiest way would probably be to do it as many PenPy game do with their animated scenes: play it as a full-window animation, while hiding everything else except the text (or, maybe, even it). There wouldn't be seamless connection with the sprites, but it would do the work, more or less.

You are likely correct. Of course it's up to the dev if they want to do something like that in their game - I know from experience that "use AI" is not a recipe for fast/good results if you want to have close control over the output. You don't get much control over exactly what happens in the ai video, nor is it easy to avoid non-canon visual changes (like that awful tattoo on the cheerleader in the most recent AI video).

Anyway, I'm not certain that MetaMira is even looking at this thread recently. Given the dramatic drop-off in pace of releases I would guess they are a bit burned out.

Exactly what I am saying. It is baffling that this game has no new content for almost 6 months when it is very easy to add few hand drawn art. Also, focusing on useless update like background when your game has so many potential targets is stupid

Updated 8/10, Demon Deals on 8/25, and we'll probably see a Demon Deals update before this. Which is wild.
