VN - Ren'Py - A Wife and Mother [v0.211] [Lust & Passion]

Current version 0.775 and the game is roughly 1/3 complete.

This game is the digital equivalent of that hot female friend of yours that you will help move, mow the lawn for, play the guitar for, help with school work, do every little thing for... but you are stuck in the friend zone with no way out any time soon.

Graphically this game is superb. The renders are of high quality, and there are like 4 or 5 thousand of them so far.

Unfortunately 90% of the renders are "non-nude, non-erotic images". Not erotic even in the slightest. Crap like a woman walking to a car, or sitting at a desk, or people conversing around the dinner table, or other non-sexual imagery.

The next biggest category of images would be about 5% of the total images of the "sports illustrated cover/victoria secret" tier non-nude images. These are better than the majority of images but still not sexual enough. These are not adult images, but they are more enjoyable to look at than the other non-erotic images.

Next up would be what I consider to be "brief nudity" a quick shot of her butt in the shower for instance. This is about 2.5% of the images.

Next up would be what I consider to be "soft-core non-nude pornography". taking about 2% of the images. This can be things like rubbing a girls butt at the gym, or a boy "accidentally" grinding his wang in his gym shorts on sophia's butt, or a massage.

Next up are about 0.4% of the images that are "almost hardcore porn" but not hardcore porn. This can include things like almost getting raped, but escaping for instance.

Finally rounding it up with the 0.1% of images is "actual hardcore imagry" there is like 1 scene of Sophia blowing her husband real quick, and 1 of her spying on the neighbors and that's it.

Eventually, these numbers will change, and when they do I'll rate the game higher than it is. Until this breakdown changes and the game is made more erotic my rating will remain low.

Character wise Sophia is great, and is a very lovable person.

All that being said... Gotta love the game anyways even though it blue balls the hell out of you.

The game is only version 0.0775 right now, so obviously there's plenty more content planned. However, considering there's multiple hours of content right now, I think there's enough content to get an idea of the style and outline, and write a review.

There's a lot of good in this game. The models are great, the characters and story are fleshed out from beat to beat, and it's obvious that the creator is passionate and dedicated to realizing a vision in this game. Some of the sensual scenes are quite spicy and well written. There is good writing in this game. However, there are pacing problems in at least two ways.

First, although the creator of A Wife and Mother does a good job of making their characters feel alive with histories and interests, I think there's sometimes too much time given to banter. For example, there's a scene where the mother and her sister are going to the gym to workout, and probably about 500 words are given to topics of how the kids are doing, what hairstyles they're doing lately, and various fashion choices. While this is absolutely organic and how people would likely pass the time in real life, it's not at all interesting or important to the story. If the kids were brought up because the mom had conflicted thoughts, or if fashion were brought up because the mom were dressing sluttier and the sister noticed it, this might be interesting writing. But no. This is literally just small talk to fill space and waste time.

Second, there are unskippable sound clips, transitioning scenes, and other things that literally double this game's playtime. For example, there's a scene where the mother goes to take a swim in the pool, and to convey this movement (and, probably more likely, to show her bathing suit in different angles) the creator adds four different still shots of the mother, with each one having a mandatory two second show time. At another point, I had to stare at one of the character's sports cars while a sound clip of engine revving played for five seconds. I appreciated these effects the first couple of times, I recognize that some people probably still dig them every time, and the creator is no doubt proud of his compositions, but I don't think mandatory delays are ever a good idea.

Overall, I still enjoyed A Wife and Mother and think if the story and code were edited with an eye for brevity, it would be an excellent game. In its current state, however, I'd be reluctant to recommend it.

This game looks great, but it doesn't play well.

There is a point system for the various characters and three more general categories. Good Wife points are for staying loyal, Filthy points are for being promiscuous, and Lesbian Temptation points are for being interested in women. Or at least in theory. The reality of the game is a bit different, as your actions don't get divided up so neatly. Often you will gain Good Wife points for simply standing up for yourself instead of allowing a creep to molest you. So, it appears that if you want to have Sophia cheat on her husband, she must first be degraded, humiliated, and have no sense of self-worth. Although, I could be wrong, since there is still no sexual content for her in the game except with her husband.

The game has numerous subplots that don't go anywhere. For example, Sophia has been blackmailed on three separate occasions by three separate people, and none of these subplots have been concluded yet. It gives the impression that the author doesn't really have a plan for how the game will play out and is just re-using ideas to pad it out. Which is the last thing the game needs. There are a few fun moments in the game, but it seems to be slowly going nowhere. New characters and side stories get added, but never fleshed out. I suspect that the game has already sprawled out too much to ever get completed.

Very little content for the amount of time invested at the start. The story and choices are important but there needs to be a compromise with content. There should be some form of unskippable content that can showcase the work's skill and the stuff that the player's can look forwad too, essentially teasing them.

3 star v0.160 (Part 2):
Here we hare the game was good befor.
But now I can't even play withoutfinishedel previs par so colled "Part 1" to play so called "Part 2" I could play it even i finished. For me this second part is unplaybe for lot of rease. W need to downloda the fix save 1 and 2 tobe able oto play the second part.

Bad in Part 2:
1) save system are forcfull need to be used bu th lasted version of v0.150 save fix and folder save for the previous one and new game can't even start.
2) When I clickstart the game he force me shoot to game. I can't even play neight to choise what kind of choise I had alred mad in the least Part 1.

Suggestion:
get ride ot the mere save sistem and put what kind of choise wemad in the Part 1 of the game, with lot of situation with system point .You really should make what we aledy did with this withou be forced to make our live and playthought the gamecomplicated. Du the fact with this kind of sisytm the deve implament with finishefirst last version to make it unplaybale and unpleacent for all players.

Exellent Game. More are work on it, must be exellent to the end. I phink story is awsome. Characters are very strong personality. I phink this Game have a future to coninue with other phate and story. I'm very, very curios how continue in. I think maybe a futa charcater can be present: maybe other sister or nwe charcter meat Sophia, and coure seduce her. It very exellent game and choise. I think you could continua withe the serie and maybe make the cheats mod for see wath appen. I love this game.

The game is told very slowly and deliberately. The main character's corruption is actually realistic and believable (which also extends to the supporting characters. Everyone acts pretty much like real people would, though obviously more perverse than most).
This is both the game's biggest strength and it's biggest weakness.
Having only played the filthy route so far, I have yet to encounter a single sex scene (as of version 0.775). There have been numerous sexual scenes, that were quite hot, but no oral, vaginal or anal sex (or anything like it). Yet.
Because the way the story is told, I am sure those things are coming. The creator is obviously playing the long game here, setting up a bunch of situations that the MC will go through and which will be all the more satisfying when we get to them, because of the build-up.
But whether you have the patience to get there, is up to you.

Finally this time we can see the main character have sex with husband and giving handjob to her son.

I played this game some time ago, and recently came back to check what's new with it. I remember it used to be my fav game of all, and i thought it had potential, but when i played it recently i felt disappointed, this game is going no where , the dev ruined it.

1- There is no story, only irrelevant filler scenes, to increase development time.

2- Updates = nothing, no content nothing, I don't mind that there is no sex, but to have almost 0 content in an update is ridiculous, it's no respect to players.

3-Although the MC is one of the best looking female characters in current games, but to use a ready made DAZ3D character is lack of creativity and it makes me feel the dev doesn't want to have any input, he wants only output , if you know what I mean.
That's all i can think of, I will update my review later if it gets better

This is quite the neat little game!

I have been following this for quite some time now and it's really obvious that the developer has put a lot of effort into each and every character. The situations are fantastic and each character's personality feels believable and solid. Although some might say that the progression is on the slower side when it comes to games such as this, it makes it a lot more realistic, because people often do not change within a couple days or even weeks!

I'm really looking forward to any and all updates that may come in the future, thank you for your hard work!

Slow build, but it makes the payoff so much better. No explicit taboo scenes as of 0.0775 but great renders, and easy gameplay. Since it is a visual novel, no mindless grinding, just hold CTRL. One note, you cannot pursue every option in a single play through so save accordingly. I would also be nice if there was gallery.

I saw the game in version 0.1, version 0.2 fascinated me, began to support the game. It was almost the only game of this type with a normal plot. And he continued to support 9 months, but the scene in the school soul, so upset and the next update disappointed even more - began to support other games.
After looking at the pictures of version 0.775, I realized that I had not refused to play the game for good reason - the graphics became worse, the models lost their attractiveness. Most likely, the author is experimenting with RTX rays and possibly correcting the situation, but for now: I don't want to play it.

The built is too slow for the resources but the story and CG is absolutely on spot! This is what can be called a realistic story, you get teased more and more about the slow moral decay of MC, no sleeping pills, no late night peeks, no alcohol... this is why this game is different. You play as a woman, and as woman do, this will not going to be a straight to fuck scenario, and for the best. When it happens, will be glorious!

This game has some amazing renders but that's all it has going for it. I actually like good writing in a porn game but that's not the case in this.

In order to extend "corruption" as much as possible the MC is written like a maladjusted retard. We are talking about a 30+ yo MILF who apparently doesn't know why she is getting that "funny felling" in her lower regions when in a spicy situation. Or can't recognize that horny young stud is rubbing his boner on her and it's not "something innocent". For some reason this hot mother of two has general awareness issues, failing to see everyone in her life but her hubby, wants to bang the shit out of her. This approach may work in other games involving much younger, inexperienced characters but it surely does not in a suburban MILF game.

It's a shame because this dev makes some good renders. But in their effort to make an ultra-realistic porn game they ended up making an unrealistic game with no porn in it.

EDIT - v0.115 (30/12/20) : Years later, and it's pretty obvious to me that this game's development is purely financially driven. A game stuck in limbo, running around its tail by choice. The lowest possible rating is well deserved for that reason alone.

A Wife and Mother has been a game with great potential since the beginning. It has been over 1,5 years since the start of the development and I'm now asking myself.. Where is the story, where is the character progression, and most of all, where is the sex?

Of course, this is an erotic game, not a porn game and I completely understand that. But it is lacking in all those departments, except for the render quality, which is is still very good. However, this alone is not enough to give this game any more than 1,5 stars, which you can't give anyway. I dont find it worth 2/5 stars at this time, it has been too long in development without any real progress to be worth that.

Update after 0.09

I have come to an acceptance that this game has slow progression and the rewards make it just so much better. The kissing scene in the shower was great. Changing my vote once again to 4/5 this time. Time between releases is simply too long for this pace of sexual progression. Really enjoying the game though.

Although the quality of AWAM renderings is excellent, the absence of sex scenes and excessive eroticism keep the game monotonous and tedious. The story of the game is good, but there is almost no progress of the characters until the current version (0.0775), which keeps the game even more melancholy. Playing AWAM is the same feeling of going for a jog in the park on a treadmill, it just does not make any sense.

4 stars and not 5 stars only due to the development time and story pacing being really bad for the first half of the game. I don't really want to go into it all again (I have a few times in the discussion) but I have the same basic pros/cons as most here. Really high quality but a bit slow in story and dev time.

I'd recommend adding another person that can render or write script (preferably render as I actually enjoy the devs vision in this story). Having someone else to churn out renders would likely help release times immensely.


Really good overall and it still has a chance to earn that 5th star.

Quite enjoyed the renders. The dialogue seemed 'fun', and I love the fact that the MC isn't "I'm going to take all the D..." it seems like a slowburner for the start; which is great. Hoping it will reach completion.

Re- Edit: After a period of intensive analysis and hindsight I decided to re-review the game.
Pro (No particular order):
1. Gorgeous Renders, several changes of environment, and well constructed angles.
2. Well crafted overall storylines; the story arcs are clearly being set.
3. 'Atractive' models
4. Not the ' straight to sex and corruption' type of game

Cons (Top of the list being the most con - bottom being the least):
1. Inconsistent updates, both in terms of content and time frames.
2. Incompletion hazard - potential money sucking leech
3. Specific scenes (or main character) display incoherent writing - especially regarding nudity or sexual acts - which does not effect the over arching story, but leads to a disconnection from immersion.
4. 'Too much' filler writing. Most of the 'filler' content is Sophia and her internal monologues. Normally, some introspect is welcomed in order to provide a fuller character body however it is excessive. Should try to allow the player to fill in the blanks sometimes. Personally, I cannot call that character development, for it doesn't develop character. It mostly repeats the usual, already presented, objections.
5. Little to no replayability - Routes are rather samey with slight exceptions. Biggest route differences come from last update; they mostly emerge from one single decision.

In summary: A Wife and Mother presented itself as an evolution to the typical porn game, as a few select others have achieved. However, once the initial playthrough has subsided, you realise there is not much replayability, that the writing is rather quirky, and waiting for a new update will most certainly be a disappointment. It is inevitable to view AWAM as a future abandoned project, especially in light of the absurd amount of money it has been generating since its conception. I have no criticism for those who support the developer, for his initial game concept was more than promising; one can only hope for more developers to move into quality construction in order to gain community support. Unfortunately, it seems that promising future is slowly dripping away from us.

Hm, where to start? When I started the game, I was tending to 4-5 stars. The arts are really great and the story was promising. To be honest, the story still is. But, and here comes the but, what is really annoying is the fact that we are at v075 now and there is nearly no progress.
Don't get me wrong, I like games with slow speed in h-content, but I have more and more the feeling that the dev wants to suck patrons money as long and much as possible (which is ok so far), but just can't deliver what he promised. That's why I stopped donating and even playing Awam. Meanwhile, I am just dissapointed.
I hope that there will be a change and more regular updates, I surely would return.
