- Game version changed to "0.98.6"!!!
- Thanks to your comments, found and fixed a bug where NPCs from a dorm that MC happened to meet at a bullfight were not showing up in the list of acquaintances who live in that dorm.
- Shared the code of fun with single male NPCs and attacking the MC later in the city. Made new game mechanics for interacting with the attacker for this, if he wants to do more than just loot the MC. Replaced the images with animations.
- Made a separate game mechanic for having fun with a male NPC during a cinema session. Replaced images with animations.
- After studying your comments, wishes and recommendations, we made a new game mechanics of fun with single male NPCs, taking into account the replacement of static images on animations. We made new interactions available and optimised the code of locations.
- Next, we wanted to make a fun animation with a male NPC, add the small town the MC came from to the game, and make it possible for her to interact with her relatives when she visits her small town. But time laughed at us and our ambitions.
What happened was the following:
First, we had to make room for the animation by deleting all files and folders that were not used in the game. We had to review every folder in the game and every image. Then those images that were questionable to check for references in the game code. This took time, a lot of time. As a result, the number of folders was reduced and the game lost about 300 mb. The result is not very comforting based on how much effort was spent.
Then began the search for the best and fastest way to create animation. This also took time. I'll be honest, the result is pleasing. The ability to convey the atmosphere and location where the game event takes place, much higher than static images. We tried that the size of the animation was not less than 800 px in width. These are relatively large animations and it is not easy to make them. The downside is the size, the game immediately started to gain weight and we had to hold our horses.
The excitement quickly passed when the number of animations passed 250. It was still that race against time that we lost. In the end we had to give up, otherwise the publication date would be postponed again and again. It's the hardest part of the job that hardly anyone appreciates. And since we depend heavily on your support, losing it was tantamount to the collapse of the whole project. As a result, we decided to share with you what has already been done to see if we have chosen the right direction.
Hurry is not the best helper when you want to do well. I'll have to change some of the animations, as I don't like them all. I made a plug for some of the locations in the form of repetitive animations. Hopefully time will favour us and give us more opportunity.
In the MC city I only had time to change the display of snack bars. It is physically impossible to write code and make animations. I will try to pay more attention to it for the next publication.
