Whoops, my bad, I think I was using the taunt function and expected that to lead to battle? Nevermind, it seems to be fine. What isn't fine is that she's constantly doing 5-10 damage to me, even if I am properly countering her attacks and doing ero attacks, and I only gain 1 stamina for each loss. This is a pretty harsh grind.

Also, the spoiler was interesting. Hope we can tease the target about that later.

First, Did you battle the Prince yet? You need the extra EXP from this battle to raise your Physical stat. Your Phys stat has an influence over how much damage you deal and how much damage you take. Meaning that if you haven't upgraded it, you're likely taking extra damage EVERY turn which quickly adds up.

Secondly, are you following the steps listed in the Guide?

How to Fight:
First thing to do is to pay attention to her text so you know what is going to happen.

Wind Stance -- She will block physical attacks, but is weak against magic attacks. Use magic to slow her down.
Cascade Stance -- She will power through magical attacks and counter you. Must rely on physical attacks to break through.

If the game mentions that her sword is glowing, or she takes a stance with a clenched fist, you should DEFEND. She’s about to unleash a special attack. She’ll never do a special attack two turns in a row, so you’ll always have a chance to land a good hit after defending.

It's not really meant to be a grind, but it is a difficult battle. In fact I'd go as far as to say that gaining a few extra points of stamina will not allow you to win. The only way to win is by having enough Physical stat, and selecting the correct choices.

EDIT: Third, if you're using Ero Attacks you might actually be closer to winning than you realize. Eventually she reaches a point of horny levels where the screen always flashes pink, and your Ero Attacks stun her so she stops attacking. At that point she can't damage you anymore and you've already won the battle.

Yes, I've dueled the prince as well. My physical stat is currently at 4. Whenever I get an opening to destroy her armor, she still clocks me with her attack.

EDIT: Finally figured it out, now I feel silly. You just have strip her and hammer her with magic ero attacks to paralyze her for the win. Though she did leave me with only 5 hp, so it was close.

It should be possible to defeat her in a head to head battle in the final version of the game. But right now the available fights to gain EXP and Stamina are pretty limited, so you have to rely on the Ero Attack method to wear her down and yeah it is still close. She's either the strongest or second strongest character that the player is currently capable of fighting, so I think the difficulty level is adequate.

If you go by the given flavor text, Raptor suggests that he would have no problem fighting the entire Bellute army, but if he had to fight Garnet at the same time it could become a problem. This suggests she is stronger than the entire combined might of the army on the continent. Possibly including Merlin as well, which is why I say 1st or 2nd strongest.

Merlin has less raw power than Raptor, Polyquin, or Garnet, but he's also less of a direct attacker and more of a plan-to-win type of guy. Polyquin has a lot of power but her personality holds her back and she ends up being pretty ineffective. Garnet is the remaining one who is highly powerful, doesn't rely on magic, and even has the magical resistance to power through a lot of spells... and she doesn't play around and can actually put up a fight.

It will probably end up being one of the 3 most difficult fights in the entire game when all is said and done (I consider Merlin to be competing for 4th)

After you take over the Kingdom, a timer will begin counting down. You can use the Magic Clock to make it go by faster/near instantly. Eventually Merlin will try to summon you into his pocket dimension and battle you. You can battle him fairly, or summon Peter to destroy him instantly. Either way, you go into the magic lab and siphon Merlin's magical power to increase your own.

Hey MoriaAPC! I love your game. The mix of excessive cruelty and tongue and cheek self-awareness isn't something you see around here very much. Also really great to see how the project has developed since day 1. Your consistency is inspiring - I could learn a thing or two...

I don't want to pry or be a pain, but do you think we'll be able to use magic to make some of the kids grow up fast? I'd really like to see some intergenerational fun/impregnation!

Pizznazz Haha, thanks. If there's one thing I'm good at it's usually keeping a schedule.

As for intergenerational stuff... There's two main reasons why I say it's almost 0% likely to happen.

First, that kind of scene wasn't on my original outline. My consistency of updates and the fact that this game will be completed rather than abandoned in development hell is because of my adherence to the outline. I really don't like adding new stuff onto the outline unless it's something that is reasonably easy to do. Generational characters would be quite a challenge, on top of the needed art assets which aren't currently planned by our team of artists.

Secondly, I don't think I'd enjoy writing that kind of scene very much personally. I know there are people who would be happy to see that kind of scene. But I'm not sure if I can do my best writing if I'm forced to write something that I don't personally like all that much.

Charm route for the Queen is not done yet, and will likely be one of the last materials added for her.

i'm having a weird bug, my UP and Left don't seem to be working in game, or more likely it's like they are always pressed so i can't move the character, tried switching keyboard and testing but still the same bug

i have the same issue. did u fix it by any chance?

One instance I know of this bug happening just has to do with switching between windows. This isn't really a problem specific to my game, but I have seen it happen in rare instances in RPG Maker games generally. Usually just restarting the game fixes the issue, but it can be caused again if you switch between the game window and another window. I don't know if it only happens if you switch while pressing buttons or if it always happens when you switch. Try playing the game without switching between windows and see if it helps, I guess.

I don't know if there's an easy way for me to fix this kind of thing because it doesn't have anything to do with the code I've written, but is instead just ones of the flaws of using the RPG Maker toolkit.

Just a heads up to anyone who follows this topic closely. My update schedule is usually VERY reliable, so I figured I would give an explanation of what is currently going on. For those in my discord server you may already know I've been very sick for over a week now, and I've been unable to work for most of the last week and a half. As a result, I had to decide between trying to rush a really small update out this week as normal or... What I've decided on: I'm going to push the release of 0.58 back to next weekend. This should allow me a full week to make up for all of the days of work I've missed, and hopefully allow me to finish recovering during this time.

tl;dr 0.58 will be released next weekend instead of this weekend. I'm going through some health issues but I'm still doing my best to remain active.

There's lots of small art and map updates in various locations. Polyquin has some more player focused content as well as one additional wandering monster that can fuck her. And the Green Eyes student NPC now has a semi-finished quest line. Enjoy it!
