Been about a year since I first wrote some feedback on the game; feels like I have a things to say about the development since that. Obviously, just my opinion, yaddayadda. Game overall is great, otherwise I wouldn't have come back to it
+ one of my main "complaints" about the game originally was that Blaire felt too detached and non-interactive; her dialogue system (plus, yeah, more content in general) fixes this nicely. Admittedly, it can occasionally feel a bit contrived (totally always happens to be out of the house when Prism comes by ...), but overall, a welcome development.
+ the dialogue system in general is neat. Really makes everyone feel more like people you encounter and get to know. Impressive effort put into non-porn content, too.
+ the Prism content as far as I got (according to Sam I'm at the end of her content but he's been wrong before ^^) is consistent with the quality of the game; interesting, fun and sexy. That's what I like to get.
+ surprisingly I really enjoyed the explore the city
system. I'm actually kinda disappointed you don't get to explore the others bits after you're done ... but admittedly I also don't immediately see any further use for it so not sure how or why you'd go around "Exploring".
+/- I really myself don't know what level of puzzle challenge I want from the game; it feels kinda pointless if they are immediately obvious, but, I mean, it is a porn game ... what can be a bit frustrating are these sort of obscure moments, where you feel you got the idea what the idea game wants from you, but don't know what it is exactly it wants you to do - for example
.
So it's not like that's "difficult" but if you're stuck at something like this it can be frustrating.
+/- generally speaking I didn't encounter anything too detracting from the experience, but as mentioned elsewhere there's some wonky stuff; sometimes code, sometimes writing/typos, etc. Eh. It's not there on purpose and I know you're fixing whatever is reported - plus, of course, game is WIP - so it's what it is but of course ideally it'd be all be magically perfect all the time.
- I get the idea of the GPS map - certainly useful for new players - but I'm not sure a map is actually more useful as means of transportation. And the map really is ugly. Really, really ugly. I actually had to go and restore the old system of travel ... I find it more comfortable to use (indubitably influenced by habit) and, more importantly, so I don't have to look at that map. Which is really ugly. In case that's not been mentioned. But, seriously. It is ugly.
- jobs are still a real boring grind. I'm kinda hoping there's something I'm missing regarding money making (or future plans) because at this stage the game demands a relatively big chunk of money for a certain something and that just makes me want to type it into the console instead of legitimately earn it and I do genuinely hate cheating. But not as much as clicking "do library chores", what, up to ~400 times?
- sorta puzzle-related, but more generally ... but there's stages of the game where it feels like you're basically running through all locations, check all options, then go to the next time slot, do the same, then to the next, do the same ... because you're hunting down some specific option somewhere and you don't necessarily know where; you can't know where something is triggered, or how exactly it is triggered; even if you do know, maybe there's RNG so you got to try multiple times ideally ... it can start feeling like quite the chore, especially since generally there's of course nothing (the city feels less empty now but still a bit too empty on balance) at locations so not like "oh, didn't find X, but got Y instead" is a common thing (but sometimes it is and that's nice then)
And lastly, a point that I'm kinda on the fence as the story goes so far, but that makes me a bit skeptical about going forward - more than any of the others, this is just my personal preference, but -
... okay, that's all. Well, all but - I did this time mostly play it on my (small) smartphone. Personally felt it's very much doable, but had to apply a few changes:
- restore the sidebar toggle button
- remove minimum-width from elements (frankly I don't think that's doing anything positive anyway; really only comes in effect on screens of very specific sizes ...)
- I did reduce the font-size for descriptions and changed the box a bit
- hover elements don't work of course
So a minute of work or so ^^ But then quite playable.
