This thread is to keep track of our machine translation projects.
Someone suggested we do so, so after a quick discussion, here we are.
We're two people (I'm the only one on f95) who started making our own translation patches for our own convenience, a few years back.

All our patches rely on machine translation (AI for the more recent ones) for speed sake, more or less curated depending on the game.
We work on games who strike our fancy, often niche ones no one cares about, untranslatable ones (due to sheer size or other issues) or freshly released ones (for convenience instead of relying on traditional MTL tools) or all of it at once.
AI translations use various Gemini 2.5 models (2.5-flash is the most used one).
Translation quality might vary depending on our interest in the game, but we always play-test before release.
Patches are either worked on in tandem or on our own, to various degree.

Suggestions are welcome, as we might not be aware of newer releases, but we DON'T take requests, it's merely a hobby first and foremost. No offense if you get ignored.

We also develop and use our own custom tooling.
It started with a simple string replacement script for Gehena because its MTL was broken, and evolved into whatever it became today.
The biggest piece is open source on and made by my teammate and is still evolving.
The point is to have full control on the workflow on a per-game basis for fast release and iteration upon game updates, and being able to work on the same project with multiple people at once.

All our public patches are available in this .
File names are always: GAMENAME_GAMEVERSION_MTL_PATCHVERSION.rar

Below is the patch list by circles/devs available in the folder.
We are biased towards themes of Corruption, Transforming Heroine and more.

Feel free to notify me if a patch needs to be updated (due to a game update, mistake or bug), we can do it as long as we do have access to that game version, unless a note below mentions Patch support stopped (in that case, we probably aren't interested in it anymore).
Otherwise, we can probably make a copy of the string list available if someone needs it to make their own patch or as a basis of a manual translation, as long as we have a backup (which should be the case for almost all of them).

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

The quality rating is purely subjective and is merely indicative of how much polish the machine translation benefited (from manual editing, curation, proofreading, to automatic agentic AI proofreading).
All patches are play-tested regardless.

(Audio related circle, mostly hypnosis audios. This is their only game and a sort of prequel to some of their works featuring those two succubi)

Planned projects:
- Holy Valkyrie ExS-TIA Marina Bright Feather (March 2026):

Eventually (No ETA or might be dropped):
- Some undecided Wolf-RPG game to add support for the engine in our tools
- A new version of the patches for ExS-TIA games, with a newer AI model and newer tooling. It will depend on if the upcoming official english releases ever make it properly to Steam or not, and in which state.

I'm in the same situation as you as I'm doing my own AI patch for Visual Novel games I'm reading. Your tools may comes in handy.

Yes, same problem as us I assume.
We were frustrated from text hookers/patcher translation quality (such as Textractor, or AGTH and ITH back in the days, to name a few) and MTL patches made in one button press by people with Translator++ and the likes, sometimes omitting some text (especially in regard to RPG Maker javascript files) or having bugs caused by it.
Our solution started as a simple string extractor/patcher script, made for the Nepgear and the Maid house game, which allowed us to select on the fly which string or not to patch, and to automate the process a bit.
The limitations hit us later when I personally took care of Sugoroku 2, which was way bigger, and it resulted eventually in the current version we're using today.
LLM (Gemini in this case) translation was integrated even later, when my comrade got the crazy idea to take care of the whole Exstia series, and it was a huge step up.
There are still some limitations on that side, and we tested various more "agentic" solutions, but we're happy with what we have right now, it strikes a good balance of usability, quality, speed and cost. The end game would be to run a local LLM but none of us got the rig to do it.

can I ask how to apply these patches?
Most (if not all of them) are merely drag and drop file replacements.
Just check the readme included in whatever game patch you're interested in, it should have the info.

Do you know of any free AI translations? I think Gemini is no longer reliable due to their new rate limitation. (Sorry for my bad English)

We're still using Gemini for now. It's handicapping (especially the number of requests per day) but not that much. We don't have a big game in the work, for now.
A google dev also said it's a temporary measure due to people abusing it (roleplayers, apparently), until they implement a better system, so hopefully it will come back to more reasonable levels soon.

On another note, I updated the first post.

Happy new year.
We have worked on and made patches for quite a number of games over the last two~three weeks.
All old, VN-style games that we were interested in and that we used to test and refine our tools.
Link in the first post.
Here's a run down:

With this, we're done for now.
If we find an interesting game to translate, we'll do it.
Else, see you in March for ExS-TIA Marina.
