Her star faded as talkies arrived, and she failed an audition for "The Jazz Singer" when it became obvious that she could not sing and was unwilling to wear blackface. A few insignificant roles followed over the years, and a string of unfortunate commercials for a local swimming pool that burned down twice helped cement her reputation as a has-been. Financial troubles combined with her love of sniffing Peruvian glue hastened her end which she met in a small apartment above a pet store in Lodi, California. Gone but not forgotten, by those who truly love cinema.
