I was going to come in and try to de-escalate because while AI always sucks shit it's not really that dominant, but all the slop memes changed my mind. Ban this shit for the good of the forum
or... hear me out, you could learn to use filters so YOU will never see a single AI game anymore and other people can choose for themselves instead of accepting YOUR personal decision. okay? good =)

humm!! is it really AI that "destroys" F95, or is it the fact that most of the pure AI games submitted are Netorare games? and don't get me started that most of them are phone simulators, where the explicit scenes are hidden from the player. you have to imagine what is going on ;)

I think the problem is real but i don't think AI has had much of an effect yet. Problem has existed lot longer than AI, so while it makes appereance in every greater number of games, it has not really had big effect on quality of games. It makes little difference whether you use stock assets for Ren'Py or same real porn pics as all HTML games or AI. You can make slop and gold with both ways.

AI will no doubt become a growing problem, but also an asset which will allow things simply not reasonably possible atm.
AI will become like Unreal Engine. It gets shat on because it has so many crap games - but it has so many crap games because its so easy platform to makes games for.

I am actually quite excited for possibilities AI can create for low budget games. Give me never ending version of Student-X Change program and i would love it. For more handcrafted projects, AI voice acting will allow for fully voice acted games.

Whenever I see a thread like this I wonder why none of the detractors ever explain, in concrete terms, why they don't just use the filter system to block games with the AI tag. It's like getting angry at the sun while refusing to wear sunglasses. The solution is right in front of you but you're like "Well I don't want people who enjoy it to have it either".

Don't like it? Block the tag, simple as that.

I'll admit that there is an upsurge of low quality games that heavily rely on AI, but that's part of a larger problem in the Internet landscape as a whole and not just something H-games have to deal with. Calling everything slop though is to ignore the fact that AI can be used properly when done as an assistant tool, rather than a crutch. It allows those who don't have the skills or access to artistry to create their own vision, Sure, it will won't be the same as done with the personal touch, but it's better than nothing. And sometimes it works on the rare occasion.

Kind of a weird take though to do pearl clutching on the sanctity of a porn website when we host even worse made games made by human hands. But I mean, you do you man. I ain't gonna stop you from yelling at the clouds of that's fun for you.

Ok the Ai games is getting more and more, and they're getting annoying. We need a easy button to filter Ai instead of typing it in excluding tags, yeah I'm lazy af.

Yeah... no it won't.
I asked Chatgpt and it said this:

Can the use of AI speed up game development?

ChatGPT said:
Yes—AI can significantly speed up game development, especially when it’s used as a multiplier for developers rather than a replacement. Here’s how, with practical examples and caveats.
Where AI Speeds Things Up the Most
1. Prototyping & Iteration
  • Generate placeholder art, UI mockups, sound effects, or music in minutes.
  • Rapidly test mechanics, levels, and narratives without waiting on full production assets.
Impact: Faster “fail fast” cycles and quicker greenlight decisions.
2. Programming & Technical Work
  • AI-assisted coding helps:
    • Write boilerplate systems (movement, inventory, UI logic)
    • Debug errors and optimize code
    • Convert logic between engines or languages (Unity ↔ Unreal, C# ↔ C++)
Impact: Reduces engineering time, especially for small teams.
3. Art & Asset Creation
  • Concept art, textures, icons, props, and variations generated quickly.
  • AI upscaling and style transfer for consistency.
Impact: Artists focus on polish and direction instead of repetitive tasks.
⚠ Final assets usually still need human refinement.
4. Animation & Motion
  • AI-driven motion capture and animation interpolation.
  • Procedural animation for NPCs, crowds, and background characters.
Impact: Speeds character production and makes worlds feel more alive.
5. Level Design & World Building
  • Procedural generation enhanced by AI:
    • Terrain layouts
    • Dungeon structures
    • Side quests and encounter placement
Impact: Massive content creation with less manual labor.
6. Narrative & Dialogue
  • Draft branching dialogue, quest descriptions, lore, and NPC backstories.
  • Localize text faster with AI translation.
Impact: More content, better coverage, less writer burnout.
7. QA & Testing
  • AI agents simulate player behavior to:
    • Find bugs
    • Detect exploits
    • Balance difficulty
Impact: Faster and more thorough testing than human-only QA.
Where AI Doesn’t Replace Humans
AI still struggles with:
  • Creative vision and originality
  • Cohesive art direction
  • Emotional storytelling
  • Game “feel” (timing, weight, satisfaction)
Result: The best studios use AI as a tool, not a designer.
Realistic Time Savings
Team SizeSpeed Increase
Solo dev2×–5×
Indie team30–60% faster
AAA studioFaster iteration, not shorter schedules
AAA pipelines gain efficiency but still face coordination and polish bottlenecks.
Risks & Tradeoffs
  • Over-reliance can lead to generic content
  • Legal/IP concerns with AI-generated assets
  • Inconsistent quality without strong direction
Bottom Line
Yes, AI absolutely speeds up game development—especially for prototyping, content generation, and technical grunt work. Teams that combine AI with strong human direction ship faster and better games.
If you want, tell me:
  • Your team size (solo / indie / studio)
  • Engine (Unity, Unreal, Godot, custom)
  • Game type (2D, 3D, mobile, narrative, multiplayer)
I can suggest a practical AI tool stack tailored to your project

Several of these are true, several are just a different way to spend time. The AI assisted coding is a big help, honestly, but not free and not really cheap either in the long run. I have several AI assisted coding options through work, but after having them for several months now I find myself just coding myself anyway most of the time. The biggest help is the ai generated code autocompletion in editors like VSCode. Especially if you template common methods.

Edit: And I feel that for things like Visual Novels if using a simple engine like renpy, even the ai coding assistance wouldn't be that much of a time saver since it's so pre-done anyway.

I used to use this website a lot but as of the last two years it's just been littered with mindless slop and really poorly made games.
Most games have always been kind of "meh".

Sure there's more low effort games now, but eventually people will stop since no one will support those low effort projects.

On the flip side, A.I has been a tremendous help to competent devs, and studios.

Just my 2 cents.

Funnily enough, the coder that is in my discord server absolutely hates it.

Anyway, the reason AI isn't going to speed up development of adult games (as evident by the simple fact that it hasn't already) is because of the people who are actually using the AI in the first place. Whether it can was not the post I was responding to.

A million views on youtube is nothing. thousands of youtubers have been getting a million views for years. Reaction content gets more views than AI, and that's primarily just theft under a "transformative" blanket.
I don't think you understood my objection, or at least your response doesn't address it (misapplication of statistics)
