AI in games

To anyone who cares to read... I've been reading multiples complains regarding almost every game now that is using AI or not and honestly... so what??? I been here since 2018 and I can count in one hand how many games I actually financially contributed with, most of us are here to play the games the developers are working ass off to develop and hopefully get some money by patreon... And we're playing for free. I doubt that at least 40% of the community here is developing a game by themselves or even developing something, specially investing their own funds on a risk gamble. So if artists are now using the AI as shortcut or just to make it easier/faster, good for them cos I can't even imagine the pressure they might feel to create content, animate, design, write, code, be behind the deadline and satisfy our expectatives.

Exactly!

Let the developers develop! Be happy anyone is even making games when there are far easier mediums out there like stories or just single pieces of some picture.

If a game is bad, it’s bad. And if that’s the case, it will be criticized. That’s completely normal. Usually, the worst works tend to come from AI-CG games anyway... What I mean is, a game isn’t hated just because it was made with AI. There are plenty of AI-made games that gained popularity and are genuinely loved. I think some people use the excuse of “everyone hates AI anyway” as a reason not to put real effort into their AI-made games. That’s the real source of the hate.

I would not be able to develop a game, fuck I can't even draw a stickman figure without messing it up somehow, so I won't judge.

AI is fine when used well. Lots of people complain about it just because, but I care more about the effort put in the game. Not everyone can get a great artist or draw. Just let them explore their ideas and stuff, maybe one day they will get better and more confident, try new things with actual artists or get real good at working with the AI.

If a game is bad, it's bad, it doesn't matter if it is AI or not so I never really cared much. Do I prefer drawings? Yes, but I don't mind the AI in these games as long as the game is good.
